I DO NOT recommend their car wash even though it's the only one around, it completely scuffed and scratched up the entire left side of my vehicle so i will have to go somewhere else to pay to try and buff it out. However I've been using this gas station semi frequently for the last few months and the rest of the services are fine. Everything is clean and well cared for. The inside is well stocked and I've never had anything but friendly encounters with the cashiers. I'm pissed about my car but it feels unfair to disregard the rest of this gas station's services, so 3 stars it is. read more

Cheapy carwash for 10 bucks thank you much! Whenever I go to Carmel it never fails that a bird goes poopie on my car.. all of the rest of my car is clean except the front-- which had a Picasso-esque poop on it. I needed gas and a quicky wash after going to my waxing appt and Nob Hill. The gas was reasonably priced considering its Santa Cruz county and I was able to get a cheapy car wash which took care of my Picasso problem. It is on the right side of the road when you enter Scotts Valley so you can get gas, go get a cup of coffee at Starbucks or Peet's and then be on your way :-D read more

I just came back today and tried to use the pay machine, all i had was a debit card, 5 $1's and a $20. the machine does not take 10's, 20's, or debit cards. With $5 in ones, i could not afford the wash, so i had to back out of the curvy entrance and go into the store. i bought the $6 wash, and my car is still full of crap with added water spots :( i've learned my lesson, next time ill pay the extra $5-$10 and go somewhere else. read more

They are so nice, professional and accommodating to me every time I use this location!!! It's becoming ancient history with good customer service these days when all the younger generation are oblivious to giving good service because of the devices they are addicted to and creating an anti-social mentality. Just now went go through the car wash and the touch screen absolutely did not work. Went ahead and drove through and went inside to buy the car wash and the guy was a total jerk and didn't want to do it. Acted like I was an idiot, said 120 used it and it was fine, multiple times. I told over and over it didn't work. It asked for the zip of the cc and you couldn't enter anything because the screen didn't work. Told him to FO, and left. Went outside and left and watched the guy behind me at watch outside of his car fiddling with because it didn't work. I'm not sure that I have ever reviewed a service station before; but I feel the need for this one. The staff here is amazing. Almost every person is warm and friendly. They remember you and make you feel welcome. I want to specifically name one of the employees, Wes. My wife and I stopped by to grab a couple things before celebrating cinco de mayo. He ask if we had plans and chatted for a bit. He seemed genuine and interested. I went by today and he remembered me and asked how the night went. To some this isn't a big deal, to me it is. Do not waste your time/money on the express car wash. AFTER going through the wash, and pointing out the pathetic job it did, I was told I should have hosed the car off first before having it washed because it was dirty before it was washed, and this car wash does not use a lot of water. It is really only for between car washes. HUH? I asked if that was explained anywhere so consumers can make a different choice, and the answer was no. Ran my nice new car through here today after waiting in a horrid line of cars who have nothing better to do than wash their car on a Monday morning (including me) and wait a good 30min to get through it. Got the cheapest car wash and what a flipping joke. My average sized sedan barely got clean and the dryer is a joke. After my car got beat to death in the car wash I inspected the wash afterwards and it was still sopping wet and car still dirty. Lovely just lovely. This Shell service station, located on the corner of Mt HERMON & Scotts Valley Drive, has got the Best car vacuums of any commercial location that I have ever visited. As a Lyft driver, I do pop into car washes, or service stations to vacuum my car on a regular basis. Not only are the machines clean, and in good condition, the length of time you get is super generous! As a side note, their bathroom is very clean, and has nice tile work. The service guys are friendly, and , now that the roadwork is pretty much completed outside the station, it is easy to get in and out! When so many service stations offer no service, this station stands out as solid 5-. read more

Presidents day early Monday morning, midnight, I am exhausted from driving. Additionally this week i was hospitalized for heart problems for four days. My body is run down and I am tired (no alcohol or anything irregular.involved) The clerk here tonight said I could park out of the way here at this gas station, highly irregular, and catch a power nap. I go to this car wash often, my visit this morning was completely unacceptable. It was a long wait, which I don't mind, however the quality was very bad. The wash missed my side and back of car completely. My car was not that dirty I usually get a fairly good clear. I was on my way to an appointment and checked out the wash job when I arrived at my appointment. I called to discuss this with the manager and he said there was noting he could do. He said he saw the car in front of me and the wash was working. I am not sure how the car in front of me looked but my car is definitely not any cleaner. Maybe they need to do some maintenance on the was. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND USING THE CAR WASH SERVICE. All I wanted was a refund or redo. DONT GO THERE VERY BAD CUSTOMER SERVICES. I would give them zero stars if I could. The ignorant cashier sold my kid expired sodas then when she pointed it out to him he told her the date on the bottle was when they were made! How does a 12 y/o KNOW those are expiration dates and a grown adult doesn't?!?! He refused to let her get new unexpired bottles or give her the money back. I went back down there with her and had to demand the money back. Needless to say my kid learned a valuble lesson today- check dates BEFORE you pay. The car wash here sucks, I pay $10 for the best one you can get and every freaking time it misses a large spot on the back of my car. The dryer doesn't work well and it actually sprays water with the blower so you leave with water spots and a half dry car. They REALLY need to tune up the washer or something, or cut the price in half so your not spending good money for a crappy wash. read more
