Since my last visit to Mucho burrito until this one, it passed almost 3 years but my bf craving brought us here the other night and let me tell you ,y perception changed! Atmosphere, music, set up, cleaning and more are still great, but the food improve dramatically! This time I ordered a quesadilla with carnitas (pork) and tasted great! The sour cream and mild salsa were perfect, great taste, fresh and the quesadilla was well cooked. Good job to the current admin and cookers! I will see you soon. read more

Okay don't let the lack of smiles and happiness when you're getting your burrito scare you - this is the best mucho in the city. They always put a solid amount of toppings in, but most importantly I find that the toppings are kept a lot fresher at this location. Could they make ordering a bit happier of an experience? Sure. COVIDidiots working here! I came here couple months ago before the covid crisis, I remember one of the ladies here was wearing gloves but had touched the cash register screen, interac machine, and the headset she was wearing, and then grabbed my burrito and wrapped it in tin foil still wearing the gloves. It irked me at the time, but I was in a rush and didn't want to make a big stink. This week I went through the drive through and a different woman also touched the ATM machine, cash register with the same gloves including the head of the fork and each napkin that she put into the bag.. Coming from Texas, my standards for Burrito are way too high now. The choices were limited as the server or the Burrito artist said I could only choose 2 of the veggies - I am not sure if this is the case at all their locations. The food here is fine but the issue is the staff. Out of the maybe 10 times I've been here I've had 1 good experience with the staff. Every time it's like there's nothing they would rather do less than make your burrito. As though it's rude for me to be asking them to go out of their way to do their job and make a burrito. I order the exact same thing every time "small vegetarian burrito" and every single time when we get to the meat section, they ask "what kind of meat." It's like they cannot be bothered to listen to a single thing you say. I will be returning because I enjoy the food but absolutely not because of the customer service. I don't know what the others are lamenting about with a drive through, there isn't one here! This is the Subway of burrito places. Not fine dining, but right up there with the best of quick service. The only thing I can fault them on is that the south side is way spicier than down town, so you have to remember that when ordering. read more

Alright Burrito fans this place is my next favorite to Chipotle which is only in the states :( thats ok Mucho Burrito I love you anyway. The Small size is PLENTY big enough to fill me up and I love the fact they have Brown rice as an option. Having been to Mexico, and southern American states I can't call this authentic or tasty. To me this is an overindulgence of ingredients, completely raping the true nature of a burrito, or nachos, or tacos for that matter. True to traditional eating it should be light and airy but filling and deliciously blended with fresh ingredients. Your mouth should water simply placing the food in your mouth. It's like a smorgasbord of Westernized shame and obesity wrapped up in a blanket of five sauces and twenty ingredients encased in a tinfoil home the size of a handbag. I was mortified. I'm sure if you enjoy food with all these options then its the place for you. After all, this review is one of personal opinion. My husband on the contrary loves this joint when he is stopping for a heavy meal in the winter with the guys. The service at this location is sub-par, too. Chipotle, Qdoba, Mucho Burrito. All three of these places sell the same identical meals and to my surprise they belong to different companies. Weird. Based on my experience, Chipotle is the best. The food is prepared fresh, so it looks and tastes better. As for Mucho Burrito, I am not impressed. I've eaten here and at the one at city center. Something about the food isn't right. Everything looks like it was sitting out, put back in the fridge, and then reheated the next day or the day after. I love pico de gallo but the pico de gallo I had looked dull, like the life and color had been drained from the tomatoes. Nice brand new looking store.Very clean inside with modern decor. They had latin muzak playing which was very good. I ordered a mucho burrito carnitas which is pulled pork. The usual toppings and a choice of 3 hot salsas. The 'hot' version turned out to be perfect for me. The burrito was very big . Cost about $12 which is average these days. They have the 'death' brand sauces in racks in case you want more spice. Service was very fast and efficient as they have a 3 person line cook setup. Tasted great. I had a really bad experience at this mucho burrito MONTHS ago and they told me they would contact head office and I got no reply by email at all. They straight up ignored me. The management is terrible here and I'm really disappointed in the company itself. I had an employee yell at me and demand me to tell her which beans I wanted because I kept asking her to put more roasted vegetables in my bowl. She gave me very little food for the price and was so rude to me that I still think about it all this time later. Not worth it. I went today to grab a quick lunch for myself and a co-worker. I had never been before but noticed it had recently opened up. I drove to the drive-thu and parked behind two cars....and waited....and waited. I watched the drivers in front of me get restless. Waited 10 minutes and gave up. Decided to park and walk in. Were they busy? Not at all! Why is the drive-thru taking so long? By the time I finished and paid for my order, I finally saw the car in front of me at the drive-thru window; poor bastard must've waited forever. I placed an order for a chicken quesadilla with pico de gallo on a wheat tortilla for myself and an order of nachos for my co-worker. In terms of my order, I had no idea that the vegetables (peppers and onions) were all sauteed together (yes, I probably should have since the online menu said sauteed peppers and onions). So in the end, there were a few sauteed onions on the pita that the lady serving me picked out. But that isn't my problem. It's the rest. The black beans were still in the first stages of their preparedness - like when you open a can, drain the juice and plonk them into a bowl. Ta-da. I was envisioning some wonderfully slow-cooked, somewhat mashed black beans full of flavor. No, instead you get some beans that fall out of the quesadilla slices when you bite into them. The pico de gallo is absolutely pitiful and completely lacking in flavor. What annoys me too is the vibe - the "I could give a damn" vibe from the staff. The cashier especially was chatting with a friend the entire time I was paying - didn't say hi, or thank you, or have a nice day, or something welcoming and appreciative that would make me want to come back again. Even just simple eye contact wasn't there. It was not a comfortable environment that one would want to hang out in. In fact while I was in line, I overhead four gentlemen saying to each other that it was too cold inside, and they're heading out instead to eat! And it turns out they were out of nachos for my co-worker. Great. The food was definitely not memorable enough to come back anytime soon. I love Mucho Burrito! However, I will no longer go to this location because of the poor treatment I received from the manager. I have certain diet needs and asked for a Taquiera Salad without meat, beans, or cheese. Though rather lacking in elements I have always Been happy to pay the full price and have more often than once generously tipped. My most recent visit has discouraged me beyond. I asked for extra guacamole (That I was willing to pay for) and was actually scolded by the manager who stated this was the last time I would get extra guacamole. I am paying full price for a product that you just put 70 percent of your supply in and willing to pay something for extra and was scolded as if I was a child. I do enjoy Mucho Burrito but this locations franchise agreement should not be renewed with the current management. read more

Feeling a little 'peckish' I dropped into the newest local tex mex fast food restaurant, Mucho Burrito on 34 avenue. Flashy new building, to me at least, with unique stand up tables and a simple and complete menu (including a 'how to order' section...very thoughtful). I chose the 12 inch variety with chorizo, black beans, vegetables, fresh tomatoes, and hot salsa. No cheese, no extraneous iceberg lettuce and no filler (rice in this case). The Chorizo and Vegetables were empty to the point they tried to fire up some more. Both were eventually added but uncooked (the sausage did not need to be cooked). Overall the food tasted good and was typically more than I really needed for lunch. 7.99 + the feds take seemed in the market so no surprizes there. What was astonishing was the lack of customer service. The woman who served me (in the same manner as a Subway or Harvey's - over the sneeze guard) had no emotion at all. In fact she almost seemed angry I showed up. Food OK. Service....not going back to this location soon. read more

When I first walked in it seemed exactly like a chipotle however, it was much tastier and had a much better layout. I like that you have the option of getting a soup or quesadilla instead of just burritos and that the guacamole is more reasonably priced. I have visited Mucho Burrito over the years here in the Edmonton Area, but this location by far is troubled. In my humble opinion the more negative or cautious reviews of this particular location are accurate and are consistent with my own experience of the place. For my own experience, the presentation and cleanliness of the restaurant is fine. You are greeted with a modern looking fast food restaurant with some nice branding about clean eating. But once you speak with staff the experience unravels. I found staff to be more involved in whatever they are up to rather than customer service. This can involve on going conversations amongst each other, or something else that is not readily apparent. In any event, some staff are completely distracted or disengaged. My order took a while to come out, and it required corrections which added more time while customers continued to line up. Within 30 minutes after enjoying the meal, I became violently ill, and the rest of my evening was basically spent nursing myself back to normal. I made a complaint many moons ago about this to Mucho Burrito's website, but be forewarned I did not get any follow up whatsoever from them. This is a demoralized business to the core. If you are craving Chipotle or some other Mexican branded place, do not come here. You will be better off for it. In fairness though, the Downtown location has been more consistent and I cannot speak for the other locations yet. read more

Went in there today, since I'm a big fan of the Whyte Av location. There were three people standing behind the foodstation, all working diligently on their tasks talking among themselves. There was nobody else in line, and there was just another couple sitting in a bench. So we caught them at a slow time. We stood at the counter for a good 5 minutes before I asked if this was where I should order, or if we should go to the till. The girl looked up at me annoyed and said someone would be right with me. The other two people next to her continued to ignore us. We were about to walk out when finally another girl appeared and took our order. However, she was not the one who took payment. Oh no, they have another designated person for that. I waited at the till for 13 min (I timed it!) before the girl finished her discussion with her co worker and wandered over to ring me through. The people who work here are more interested in standing there talking to each other then helping customers. I think I'll just making my tacos at home now... read more

I really like that this location has a drive thru window! Every time I've been here the food has been fresh and flavorful, and hte portions are generous. They don't skimp on the meat in the burrito (I always get the barbacoa) and services is quite fast. The staff sometimes seem to be hit or miss on whether they are pleasant or surly and I sometimes find they mumble a bit and can be heard to understand, but I usually do the drive thru, so it doesn't truly affect me that much. read more

The steak burrito is a great alternative to the burgers you get everywhere. You actually get beef without organs mixed in. Don't expect authentic Mexican food though...this is just a step up from the typical fast food with better, fresher ingredients...I just wish this franchise offered fresh lime. Total rip off. I used to go to this location frequently but since the "manager" started making up prices for side items based on the day, it's not worth it. Tell me how a scoop of rice and a scoop of beans (about 3/4 cup of each) can be 1.00 (on the side of a meal) when the next time it "has to be charged as a separate meal" for 5.50. Tried to question it but even though the manager had given the cashier that instruction when they went into the back to ask, they were not there. 5.50 for a small dish of rice and beans...you have got to be kidding me. I went today to this Mucho location. JUST HORRIBLE, I am a huge fan of this franchise, I go to all the different locations throughout the city, it is a custom at this location to offer POOR SERVICE, the workers and perhaps the owner is East Indian, and they DO NOT KNOW how to treat their customers, I was here today and ordered a Mucho Burrito, and was short changed with the toppings, the guy who prepared it was ridiculously cheap and rude. This is not the first time this happens to me, I have come here before and it's always the same people, always the same thing. I was planning to email the franchise, but I don't think they can do anything for me, these people will still be in business with their horrible customer service and their lack of respect for their customers. I pay almost $12.50 today, I also go to Freshii who has way better customer service and way better staff, I don't recommend anyone go to this place until they change owners or staff. It was 11:10 am, not busy as usual. The lady making my burrito was talking to another lady while making it saying I hate people who respond too late. For a sec, I was like, wth? talking right in front of me? in English? It all depends on the manager who hires this kind of employees.I asked her to call manager and a tall guy came out AND said he's the manager. Kept saying yes sir yes sir, I guess he didnt know english . I think employees working here don't like to make food but they are forced to. it was my first time so I took hardly 10 seconds to think about what kind of meat did i want. but worst experience ever.
