I went here for breakfast early on a Saturday. The fact that it opens at 7, unlike other breakfast places in town, is the biggest plus. This is not a fancy place, but the breakfast is decent. I had an omelette with all 4 choices in it (cheese, peppers, ham and mushrooms). It was good, not great. The potatoes, though, were completely tasteless. For the toast, there was an excellent choice of jams. They were kind enough to seat me before 7:00 when I showed up early, and the lady who took my order was friendly. Other guests showed up quickly, and some of them got served before me, but i was in no hurry. Coffee came quickly, though refills ... not so fast. It took a while for my plate to arrive, but again, I was in no hurry. It was a nice place to sit and watch the morning crowd. Not elegant, but perfectly fine. read more

I didn't have a chance to eat here but I thought I share my experience so you can be warned. This little cafe looked like a place to get a morning coffee and a light breakfast. As I walked up I noticed a couple sitting outside sipping coffees and a family inside having breakfast. But noticed the neon 'open' sign was off and the sign at the door showing 'closed'. Hmmmmm.....maybe they got busy and forgot? As I opened the door and cautiously stepped in we quickly got turned away with a "we're closed!" As we stepped back out the person closing the door gave no reason and we were left in shock. On to the next place. Now, with the new rules in place because of Covid19, I guess they reached their capacity. The person could've politely said why or offered a wait time. Maybe a to-go option? I don't know....these are weird times but if you run a business in a resort town remember to be kind to potential customers. There's a lot of Covid19 rules posted on doors but a reason or customer limit sign can help alleviate the worker stress. read more

What used to be Chuck & Kitty's is now Suzy's Cafe. Suzy and her sister Lori run this cute little cafe about a block from the beach. It's one of the few places that serves breakfast at 7:00, for you early birds. Delicious, homecooked meals at a very reasonable price. We were there for breakfast...lots of great options from eggs, sausage, pancakes, omlettes.. Lot of customers were locals, so you know it's good. We worked with Kim, she was very sweet and informative and always made she we had coffee or hotwater refills. We will be back! read more

Suzy's cafe is right in the heart of Harrison hot spring. The area surrounding this establishment is absolutely beautiful. There's a big lake, with colossal Mountains all around. Many cute little shops side by side, with little knick knacks. Suzys cafe it's self was underwhelming though. First I want to mention the awful service, from some young lady who had quite the attitude problem. She is pictured below. We walked through the door, my boyfriend didn't see the wait to be seated sign, so he proceeded to sit down. I quickly said to him, no we have to wait at the door, but by that time the young lady working gave him a cheeky little remark about how he was hovering over the table, would he like it. There is in fact a sign outside, which was holding the door open that says "please wait to be seated." However, most walk right up to the window to look at menu, then enter small cafe, once they proceed to sit down, she gives a sassy little comment, about how they should wait. I watched table after table do this, and each time sassy little comment to them about waiting. Obviously no one can see your sign! First off it's not customary in every country to wait to be seated at a tiny little cafe. So of course, all these tourist will enter thinking it's okay to just sit. The first person I saw actually wait, stood there for about 5-10 minutes before she was even spoken to. By the time she got there, there was a line up of people. When we ordered food we asked the most simple question "do you serve the pancakes with real maple syrup or the sugar, corn syrup?" She said uhmmm, "well, I don't THINK it's real maple syrup." I said kindly, well can you find out for sure please, may I see the package. All frustrated she walked away and brought it back, and sure enough it wasn't. She was very hesitant though, like she wasn't sure. I am Canadian, we are in Canada, how is this not a common question ??? I only like real maple syrup. So I said, okay no worries. Just take their order I'll think about it a bit longer. She then says "if you don't order right now, you see these other tables, I will put their orders in front of yours, then you'll have to wait." My boyfriend gives me the look like, don't even get upset . So I smile and say that's not a problem. She storms off to her next table and starts taking the order. My point here is, this girl was either having a bad day or hates her job. Either way, our nice little visit in Harrison wasn't as good as it should have been because of her salty attitude. When we wanted to leave we asked for the bill. It was tossed on the table, they didn't bring any machine or even ask us how we were paying. We sat there trying to get their attention. Hello we asked for our bill, that means we want to leave. So if we have to stand at the counter, let us know!!!!! I watched her interact with other tables, she was just as rude, if not ruder with some! one table was ready to order by the time she got to them, very rudely she says I am not ready to take your order so I'll just get your drinks. They both wanted the same thing!!!!! And it was simple. She was on a power trip. The food was much too over priced for what it was. We had eggs Benedict. Nothing special, my boyfriend said it was alright. I asked for my hash browns well done, then came undercooked and cold. My bacon was delicious!! My friend had the pancakes, he said they were really good, besides the frozen berries they add. He said they were frozen berries with sugar added. read more

We came here for lunch during our visit. The food was good. Comfort, wholesome western breakfast/lunch food that I expected. Before our order arrived, I was talking on my phone outside for a long time while my husband waited inside and finished his meal long before I got back. The waitress voluntarily offered to remake my meal so that I'm not eating a cold meal when I'm done with my call. That was super nice and unexpected. I appreciate the effort immensely and would definitely recommend this place! read more

I never got to eat here... My two friends and I wanted to come here for breakfast because of the good reviews. When we walked in, I had a coffee with me (I have a dairy intolerance so I need non-dairy milk like almond or soy). I was immediately told that I was not allowed to bring in outside food. I said that I had just bought it because of an allergy. The waitress said I could drink it outside or she could hide it behind the counter. We chose to leave, but were then told that we could sit outside. So my friends and I sat down at one of the two small round tables outside (there were three of us), but were told one of us had to sit at a separate table alone because three at a table was blocking the walkway. Nice little joint. Friendly staff and solid fare. Breakfast portions were ample, and we never ran out of coffee.

I would give no stars if I could. My partner and I along with our 8 month old baby went to Suzy's around 7:45am to find the restaurant about half full. We were told there was no room us with a baby and we were not allow to sit outside as the stroller may block the walkway. The waitress said we could come back later but we instead choose to leave and find somewhere else. If you find yourself at Harrison Lake and want to feel welcome with a child this is not the place to dine. read more
