Ordered a shake from this restaurant and stood at the counter and watched them make it and to my horror I watched as the guy mixed my shake using an old fashioned shake mixer, the kind with the stem and spinning blade that revs about 20,000 RPMs.. The problem: he spun the shake using a plastic cup that they served it up with. This guy with a nose ring went to town on that cup with that blender and I could hear it grinding and whirring at high speed away at the plastic cup sides. As an engineer I can guarantee the amount of micro plastic grinded off that plastic cup into my shake was off the charts and would have been a years worth in one serving. One is supposed to use a stainless mixing steel so when the metal mixer blades hit the side (which it does constantly) you don't get contaminated food. Anyway, I but my lip, paid my bill and promptly threw the shake in the garbage when I got home. Not using a stainless mixer and then pouring the shake into the plastic cup is just laziness as it requires being cleaned after each serving. That was one of the worst cases of negligence and lack of concern for a fellow human being on the part of Mud Man's staff that is possible. Next person should call them out on this Really bad process. read more

This place is a local chain with a few located around the area. Service is outstanding. It is an order at the counter style with staff bringing it out and calling your name. Pepsi products certainly improved their rating in my mind. The burgers are what puts this place over the edge. Not your frozen burger here. The burger is full of flavor. I order the Big Mud. Double patty and latticed with bacon. I don't know if latticed is even a word? Plenty of indoor seating and Fountain style soda (pop). French fries appear fresh cut but I didn't see them being made. Stopped by this place at the end of a business trip to Kalispell. Here I am, sitting in my rental car about to head to the airport having serious doubts as to whether to ever ever leave this beautiful state. I've never heard of this place and just stumbled upon it. We stopped as we got into town and I will say first off that every employee was as friendly as you could want. I ordered the Big Mud simply because I saw bacon and I've not had a bacon burger in a long time. When the burger came out, I picked it up for a bite and saw there that the entire bottom patty had chili on it so it's maybe the only time I used a knife and fork to eat a burger. It does have in the menu that "Mud" is their chili, so if you go here and order anything with "Mud" in the name, I'm guessing it'll come with chili. They loaded me up on bacon, cheese, and had a nice portion of onions, tomatoes, and green lettuce on it which I liked. The burger was a bit chewy, but I did like it pretty well overall. They also added a secret sauce on the top bun that I'm guessing had a bit of spice to it, but it got lost within everything else on the burger. I went with chili cheese fries as my side and I thought the fries were pretty decent. The chili and cheese was fine, but it was more salty than I care to have my food. They also serve milkshakes here and since this is such a big spot for huckleberries, I went with a huckleberry shake with whip cream on top. My Wife and I both thought they served a pretty decent milkshake and I discovered that I really enjoy huckleberries. I don't expect to see quite as many huckleberry options the farther we travel back east. Overall, I enjoyed the food and I wouldn't be opposed to going back to MudMan again. read more

I was on my way to check into my hotel, stopped at a different local joint - that didn't take credit cards, not having cash on me - I found this place.
