The staff and team are absolutely wonderful and provide phenomenal customer service. They offer full-service bathing, grooming, and nail trimming, and while appointments aren't required, they definitely help during the busy summer months when many dog owners visit the park. One of the best things about Mud Puppy is its convenient location right next to the dog park. There's also a snack bar where you can grab a delicious treat or a cappuccino while your pup is being pampered. I highly recommend Mud Puppy Tub & Scrub. The service exceeded my expectations, and everyone on the team was friendly, welcoming, and genuinely caring. Most importantly, Flynn came home looking handsome, smelling fresh, and squeaky clean. We love Mudpuppy! It's truly the greatest idea to have a dog bath adjacent to the best dog park. It can get quite muddy at Pt. Isabel and it's so nice to know that Nala will get super clean right after. Thank God for this place! The first time we went, it was a sloppy wet day. But the pathways were dry. That's when Sir Winston decides to follow a golden retriever into the muckiest muck. Low tide in the bay... the tidal paths mostly a muddy, algae mess. Great fun for dogs with long legs. Not so much for Winston who plopped inup to his mid section. No amount of hosing him off even if he stood still for it was gonna get the funk of the bay off that curly coat. Fortunately they were able to squeeze him in giving him a great shampoo and fluff. Needless to say I kept his meandering butt on a leash back to the car. On another occasion, poor guy was skunked... right in the neighborhood. Back to Mud puppies you go buddy! They de skunked him so well, you would never know, he encountered Pepe Le Pew. This last time, Pepe was waiting... poof right in the kisser. Poor guy, sneezed uncontrollably until we could get him to Mud Puppies again. They did what they could and recommended we shampoo him a couple more times at home and sprits him with the anti skunk spray concoction. Today was not a skunk episode although we did run up on Pepe literally at our front door, Sir Winston's attack was a mad rush and halt about 5 feet from the cridder, barking like, "hey buster get the heck out of area, and no I'm not stupid enough to try and let you spray me. " This time was to wash and clip those dang nails... clomp clomp clomp all night on the hardwood floors! So this ends the saga of Sir Winston. Too smart for Pepe and now stealthy on the hardwood floors. read more

I appreciate all the time and care he took into fixing the incident and listening to my concerns. He offered my dog a free bath at mydpuppys tub and spa and when I showed up he ended up bathing my friends dog as well which was incredibly sweet and thoughtful. They came out smelling like mangos and they really enjoyed their bath. I'm a relatively new dog owner, so I was not prepared for when my pooch got skunked late last night. Unfortunately, she had to go to bed stinky (actually, we all went to bed stinky since she got skunked right outside the screen door). This morning I wanted to just wanted to get her bathed ASAP. I was looking online for some recommendations for nail trims. The last time we went one of my dogs did not let the groomers touch her feet so she didn't end up getting her nails trimmed. While looking online, I had over 20 recommendations for this place even knowing that my dog didn't like people touching her paws. The website recommends walking your dog to tire them out first - which is what we did. A nice walk at Pt. Isabel and then straight to get their nails done. When I popped in there was no one but the staff team. They currently don't allow self-service due to covid for bathes. The cost is $14-15 per dog depending on how many dogs you have. I believe if it's over 1 dog, they charge $14 each. The first question the staff asked me was whether or not we walked the dogs. I think the goal is to tire them out so they're more calm. I told them we did and they immediately took my most difficult dog. Let me tell you - it's a quick job for them, before my dogs even realized they were in for a trim, it was already done. Definitely worth the $14-15 in my opinion. I would definitely recommend this place for a nail trim! I also looked into grooming there however they do not groom, only baths. The bath prices start at $30 per dog including shampoo, blow dry, ear cleaning etc. For an added $10 you can do a flea treatment or get their nails trimmed. 10/10 would recommend. read more

Mudpuppy's location is perfect! We have two fluffy dogs so I rarely let them get super dirty because it's a pain (and not great) to give them a bath often. When we do plan on taking them to Mudpuppy's, I typically call them in advance to make an appointment for later in the day, then take them to play at Point Isabel for an hour before the appointment. Everyone is super nice there! Pricing is definitely on the higher end but they do a good job. However, they're still wet when they come out so for our dogs, they are shedding soooo much once they're dry. They brush some hair out when they're washing them but it's still a tornado for us once we get home. But they get the job done - a quick wash, nails done, anal expression, conditioner spritz (for the wash plus) - all in less than 30 mins! They do get very very busy in the afternoon so I highly encourage you to call ahead to make an appointment or stop by before your walk around Point Isabel to make an appointment. read more

I had my dog ' anal glands expressed and two weeks later he was scooting again. Usually he doesn't need an expression for several months. In my opinion, the service performed was inadequate. I called Mudpuppy's expecting that they would be apologetic and perform another expression at no cost. Instead I was told that Every Dog is different and some need their gland expressed sooner than others. I told him I've had this dog for 10 years and I've never had this experience before. That did not make a difference and I was told I would have to again pay for the service which would have been $54 I had paid $54 to have his glands expressed previously because they will not just do that service. it's only available if you pay for a wash. Unfortunately, it was very cold day and since they don't provide blow drying after a bath, I knew my little guy would be freezing. So I paid for the wash, even though there was no wash performed. We were at Point Isabel for a dog training session (Zen Your Dog - totally recommend) and he let us know about this place as I had mentioned our pups issue with getting her nails done. It was Labor Day weekend so expected a wait. Got there around 2:15pm on Saturday and put our name down for nail trim (walk ins only). Waited maybe 20 min and they took her in. The gentleman who helped us was amazing - my mom and I were in awe. She was so calm, we have both tried and he was done in matter of minutes. mochi was so calm and chill. Nails were $15...they also do wash and wash and dry. No cuts. This is great tho for folks who want to let their dog get dirty playing in the water but want them clean for the ride home! read more

Okay. We have 2 little dogs and paid $44 to hand wash our dogs ourselves. This is the second time we have used this place to self wash our dogs. The first time was several years ago and we had a good experience. This time, however we were shocked to learn that if you are self washing your dog, you are NOT allowed to use the dryer??? Are you kidding me??? We are on a family trip, It was a cold, wet, rainy day and our dogs were shivering after we bathed and towel dried them off the best we could. I asked the man in charge, since they wouldn't let us blow dry our dogs off, if they would blow dry them off so our dogs wouldn't be cold. The man told us if they were to do that, they would need to RE-WASH our dogs for $39.00 each. Here's how the math would work: For two dogs it would be $80.00, plus the $44.00 we had already spent bring them total to over a $120.00. LOL you folks at mud puppy's need to re-think your business model. IF you are even THINKING of bringing you dog here , BEWARE you are not allowed to use the blow dryer if you are hand washing your dog. There was also no ear cleaner, and no conditioner. Only shampoo. I love Mudpuppy's as much as my dogs hate it. I only come here for their $15 nail trims. I never have to wait very long even on weekends and even though it's a little more expensive than Petco, I prefer them because the staff is fast, gentle, and very cautious. They always give me free dog treats which I use to bribe my girls for forgiveness.
