I called Scott to inform him as to what happened. I purchased some more tires he couldn't order all I asked was to be taken care of I wasn't asking for anything free. I had to pay an out of town tire company to rebalance some tires kzoo tire installed. Scott said come on down and bring the tires. I showed him the receipt when I arrived. He said how do I know if that's for the car we worked on. The receipt clearly showed the year make and model with my last name on the receipt. He purposely had me come down there just to say he wouldn't do the job. I've been doing business with them for 30 years so has my family. We will never step foot in this place again and I guarantee you I will spread the word on how unprofessional Scott was and how the so called mechanics can't even put a simple tire on correctly. I purchased some low profile tires from them that are directional. They installed one of them backwards.

I was nine years old back then and he was eight years old I think (that was way back in 1978). We were neighbors for over 15 years. I don't let anyone else work on my car except Lowder's because I know and trust the owner, Bob, and I know that he will ALWAYS do right by me. He hasn't ever tried to pull a fast one on me (or any of my family or friends) like other mechanics do; he does what's actually needed or what I've asked to be done (IF it's legal of course but NOT if it's something illegal like putting a muffler on a vehicle that doesn't have a catalytic converter on it (or other stuff like that), because that's quite illegal!). He does the right thing, he always has that I know of and I've never heard anyone taking bad about him, EVER --- not even in high school. He's just and simply a great and honest man; and you can trust him. Oh! He WON'T give you some triple the price estimate and try to rip you off either, he's not like that at all. I refer people to go to him at Lowder's Automotive every single time someone is talking about having vehicle problems or the need of a good honest mechanic. He runs the office and front counter now and doesn't get under the cars anymore because he has some great people working for him there. He WON'T put up with a dishonest mechanic working in his shop either. I fully know that he would give them the boot too if they ever tried something like that! They work on lots of types of vehicles there and they're certified & licensed. And you can see the legal certifications and licenses posted there if you'd like to. He is an awesome person to know too. Talk with him awhile if you're wanting to know more about him and his business, I'm sure that he will fill you in on anything that you will need to know. I make appointments to drop my car off. It's always ready quickly and I've never had a bill that shocked me. I really feel like they're honest there and that they do great work. They've worked on five different cars of mine over the past 10 years and I've been 110% satisfied with every encounter I've had with them. If you're wondering why I've had several cars in that time is because I pass them on to people who are down and out and I'm confident that the car will be reliable for them and I find another used one for myself. I've purchased cars as old as 2001 and Hi Tech has been my go to for them all. My last new car was 2014 and it's still running, it has 185,000 miles on it and it needed its first visit to the repair shop about six months ago. I thought that there was a problem with the rear end in the undercarriage, we live on a private gravel road, so the car takes a beating. He looked at it and determined that it was not a problem with the undercarriage and that all I needed was rear brakes. He fixed the rear brakes and now the car is golden, no more shaking and rattling. Great shop, great owner!

I need an auto shop I can trust because I'm not enough of a gear-head to answer my own questions. Twice recently I've walked in talking like any crooked mechanic's ideal chump customer: no idea what's wrong, but ready to pay to fix it. Example 1: A year ago I brought my trusty old rust-bucket of a car in for a noisy exhaust. Nobody would've blamed them for simply doing the work I asked, but they did even better. They started with an inspection of the vehicle, and found a number of issues more serious than a mere noise problem. After checking with me, they started tallying up an estimate. Their official diagnosis: they *could* do a couple thousand dollars of repairs for me, but said I'd be wiser to save that money and put it toward buying a new car. Charge: $0. Example 2: Monday I hit a whopper of a pot-hole in my aforementioned new car. It blew out my tire, and bottomed-out my vehicle enough to dent the bumper. After getting the tire fixed the car felt fine, but I brought it to Muffler Man for an inspection, just to be sure the impact didn't cause any trouble. Their official diagnosis: no problems, nothing to fix. Charge: $0.
