If you like breakfast burritos, you need to stop at Mugs, theirs are absolutely fantastic! Filled with veggies and protein of your choice, then seared on a grill so it's toasted on both sides it takes a standard burrito to the next level. My go-to is spicy sausage with Mama Lila's peppers, onions and tomatoes plus the standard eggs & cheese. It is soooo good! Just writing about it is making me want one! This quaint, little coffee shop on West Steuben, the main street in Bingen a small town east of White Salmon, is filled with so much goodness. In addition to all the standard coffee drinks and the aforementioned awesome breakfast burrito, they have bagels and bagel sandwiches, avocado toast, breakfast handpies, and several muffins, scones and pastries. For a small, neighborhood shop they offer a lot of goodness! When I'm out exploring the WA side of the Columbia Gorge or going for a walk at Catherine Creek Trails, I often stop here afterwords and recommend you do the same! read more

Bingen has a cute little coffee shop called Mugs. I would have liked to have tried one of their spring specials, but even though there was just one customer in front of me, the wait was too long. In all fairness, there was only one barista and the customer did seem to have a lot of questions/comments. I like that Mugs has interesting specialty drinks, a nice space, and a unique feature, a play room. The play room could be a great draw for parents wanting to take a break, if only it weren't for the $10 minimum, and all the rules, which includes the parents providing direct supervision, yet not allowing any food or drink in the space. Needless to say, nobody was using the place space. There is a cute little story on the wall about The Little Plane That Couldn't, but the writing is so tiny and the pictures are placed so high up that you can't read them from the floor. I'm not sure if the business owner knows the author of the story, or why that story is so significant, but if they want it to be shared with others, they need to place the pictures lower and have captions bigger than the thickness of a pencil line. If I were the business owner, I would rethink the $10 minimum and some of the rules. If the minimum was lowered to $5 per family and the parents were expected to provide line-of-sight supervision, they could sit in the other room and visit with friends while getting a much needed break, while still keeping an eye from their children happily playing in the room nearby. This would be a great way to promote one of the unique features of Mugs coffee shop versus all others, as well as a great way to increase their customer base. read more

My friend and I stopped by on the way to a hike. The staff were so friendly and knowledgeable. They had such a great range of tasty treats and coffee options. My friend really enjoyed her scone and practically inhaled it. I liked my coffee which was perfect in flavor. Definitely a great place to go for coffee and treats when you're in the area. read more

The bacon breakfast sandwich was amazing - loved the garlic aioli. Got some bagel sandwiches for later in the day and they were quite tasty. The ladies working the counter were so friendly. I do biweekly trips to Bingin and usually stop here for a bite to eat and some coffee. First time was great! Then each time after that the food quality/prep became very mediocre for the price... If you are a vegetarian be sure to ask if what you order has meat because the menu does not specify. The drinks are a hit or miss... sometimes way to sweet. I might still come here but i'll probably stick to their muffins and cakes! Also... the employee helped customers while making our sandwich and didn't wear gloves/sanitize after handling their payment, then continued to handle the food with her bare hands. read more

We got breakfast here and it was delicious. Still mourning the loss of the Starbucks pistachio latte (I know, hot take), I ordered the pistachio rose latte and wow! I love rose flavored drinks and this one did not disappoint. Good vibes were in the air and I decided to order another, this time the Raspberry white chocolate and once again was not let down. We got the avocado toast and basil bagel, both were delicious and the perfect breakfast. They ran out of tomatoes and had to substitute red bell peppers, but it actually worked really well! I went there after I spotted it during my walk. The Cafe looks very cozy and inviting. The space is decent and clean. The staff are nice and friendly. I ordered mocha and breakfast empanada. The mocha is subpar, I can taste burnt coffee in it and the empanada is really dry. I am kind of disappointed because I was expecting better from other reviews. Was in town for the weekend visiting a friend and came across this delightful shop. I must say, I was blown away! Walking in, Mugs has a warm, comfortable atmosphere that, coupled with its locally roasted coffee and superb staff, is unparalleled. Along with my normal latte, I decided to splurge and get the Turkey Brie Pear Panini, which was absolutely divine. What I thought was going to likely be a quick, forgettable stop ended up turning into a wonderful morning that I look forward to replicating the next time I am in town. Outstanding if close you need to stop and enjoy their really unique signature breakfast. These ladies made fresh a cross between a croissant & empanada filled with vegetables (normally what real food eats) and a mild sausage. The folded crust was so delicious and mixed flavors out of this world. Best breakfast dish I have ever eaten. read more

Good food and very good coffee. Only three stars, being they base their touch screen suggested tip amounts on the total that includes sales tax, which you're not supposed to do. Tips should be based on pre-taxed amount only. Plus Bingen sales tax is only 7.5%, they charge 8% according to my sales receipt. They need to fix these errors in their touch screen purchase software. read more
