Note: I actually had 1 positive thing to say, but Yelp said I had too many words, so I am reducing. As soon as the food came to my door, there was a problem. The driver handed me the bag and started walking away. I asked him if he wanted me to pay. He wasn't sure what I was talking about. We ordered online, but they never charged us ahead of time. This was so unusual. Who doesn't charge ahead of the delivery these days. The driver had no idea and started to walk away without being paid. If I didn't say something my meal would have been free. Many people wouldn't see this as a major issue, but it shows me that the house/restaurant doesn't have good communication with their own delivery team.....and it leads in to other issues I had. Here's what we ordered: - Full Rack of ribs, with coleslaw and potatoes au gratin. - 6 piece chicken, with steak fries and soup - Dessert: 1 cheesecake and 1 tiramisu The menu online and the paper one I have at home says Fried Chicken or BBQ Chicken. We wanted fried chicken. Ordering from their website delivery menu, the options said broasted or BBQ chicken, so we assumed broasted was the fried. It was not. This place needs to get things organized. Which menu is right? FYI: their broasted chicken is not fried chicken. That should be fixed on their end. It wasn't fried chicken. It may have been baked, but it basically was chicken with bread crumbs, so once baked it has a sort of crust, but nothing like fried chicken. Here's where it got interesting for me. As I'm biting into my 1st piece of chicken, I realize there is something in my mouth that wasn't chicken or the fake crust. I pull it out of my mouth and see what looks like sting or plastic. You know when you buy a whole chicken or turkey and it has that netting or string wrapped around it intended to hold the whole thing together..... Yeah, that string was cooked into the chicken with a layer of fake crust cooked around it. So, basically they cooked the whole bird with some string around it, coated it with crumbs, baked it, and left the string. I was seriously grossed out and had a hard time eating any more. When I first opened the bag, the desserts were cold and on top, so that was the first thing I removed and put in the fridge. Looking at the menu, it's not clear if you are getting home made dessert or pre-packaged. Both the cheesecake and tiramisu were frozen, individually wrapped Eli's cheesecake cut from a larger box you can get from Costco or Sam's club. Hey, I'm ok with Eli's and it being frozen, but I could have just bought that from Costco and saved a bunch of money. I don't want to know I paid $3 for each dessert that you bought in bulk and just cut off the flavor we picked. You should advertise it that way. Instead, we were very upset and underwhelmed by the dessert. I mentioned the last meal of dessert to make a point when discussing other items. It is such a mess. Take the "homemade" potatoes au gratin says the menu. After what I've seen so far I really question if that was even homemade. It came in a small single use aluminum cooking tray. Looking at it it's possible it was also bought in bulk and we just got one of the tins. They never tell you what soup you are getting, so we'll call it the "Mugs Mystery Soup". Really nothing great. I wouldn't recommend it. Then the steak fries. While the fries were better than most of the order, they were not good compared to fries you get anywhere else. Tasted like they dumped them out of a bag onto a cooking tray and heated them up for me. Ribs. I have no idea how they can say best ribs in the northwest suburbs...... they aren't. Ok, it says voted best by Chicago Suburban times. How was this voted in? Where was the taste testing done? Who else was involved. I don't think you should advertise the best ribs when they really aren't. I can't say enough about how disappointed we were from this delivery. 1 last thing I'll say. We probably would never have ordered from Mugs, but just days earlier our neighbor got delivery from Mugs and we saw the delivery vehicle pull up with Mugs all over the car. That is basically free advertising and it got us to order. That is actually a good thing, but the conc5of a restaurant having their own delivery team is sort of yesteryear, or outdated. With UBER eats, GrubHub and so many more, why does anyone have their own delivery team. They need to hire someone that understands marketing, to get their menus updated and matching their online ordering process. A marketing person might also weigh out the benefits of using a delivery company as mentioned vs. using their own delivery drivers. I will not order from them again.

Mugs is a pretty decent takeout place, there is no dine in available - perfect for take out and delivery and late night orders since they're open til 3 AM, the Chicago style pizza is good (but expensive), I'd recommend if you need something late at night, the menu is pretty big.

So funny the owner reinforced my review with showing what kind of person he is.

We were so happy with our lunch experience. The food was better than other Italian restaurants we have ate at. Service was great. Full disclosure. It was a Saturday late lunch and the place was basically empty. Our server started us off with a small loaf of warm Italian bread. Dipping sauce was olive oil with spices and tomatoes. It was heavenly! My husband ordered the Vodka Rigatoni with small asparagus pieces. He said it was better tasting than my homemade Vodka Rigatoni! And he was right! I ordered the Eggplant Salad. What a showstopper it is! It tasted as good as.it looked. The fried eggplant was sliced thin, breaded and fried. The salad included mixed greens, mozzarella slices and tomatoes. Their prices are very reasonable. I urge everyone to go to Trezeros.

First point the waitress was very nice. First came The bread which was very good, then we ordered the mussels, average garlic sauce awful mussels, way too small And overcooked! You could barely see the mussels inside the shells. I ordered a Braciole and my wife ordered Veal Saltimbocca. We waited about 45 minutes for the food to come, my braciole was flavorless the stuffing didn't taste like anything the meat was tough and tasted boiled, the risotto underneath was Ok, only ate about 1/3 of the braciole, it truly awful. My wife's veal was inedible, very very tough, she couldn't barely cut it! The prosciutto on it was thick and overcooked, disgusting! We told the waitress who was sympathetic, said she would send the manager we never saw him instead she offered free dessert. Moral of the story! We left most of the food on the plates as it was inedible, worse $132.00 I have ever spent, we will not be back, I wouldn't feed that food to a dog!

We were a little surprised when nothing was done for it, which isn't a big deal, but I'll be honest it was disappointing since we did come specifically to celebrate and had talked about it w our server. 3/5 Arancini - Very salty. None of us really enjoyed them because of that. They also came out lukewarm instead of hot. Would have been excellent if it was less salty and came out hot and crispy. 5/5 Fig & Mushroom (subbed for prosciutto) - The menu doesn't specify how the fig is served. Turned out to be fig jam rather than fresh fig, which wasn't what we expected. A little too sweet for me but overall still very much enjoyed it. Their pizza was cooked perfectly with enough toppings and cheese. Very good pizza! 5/5 Braised Short Rib + Polenta - so good! The short rib was excellent, just slightly salty. The polenta was perfect, and it came with a generous portion of wild mushrooms. 2/5 White Wine Cake (recommended as "unique") by our server - This was the most disappointing meal item. Our waitress told us it was special, but it was very bland and didn't match the description or image on their website. Their website showed a cake with a large scoop of ice cream on top, fair amount of whipped cream and raspberry sauce. Ours came with maybe a quarter of the size of that ice cream scoop, a little teaspoon dollop of whipped cream that you eat in one bite and the raspberry sauce was a tiny smear on bottom for decor but there wasn't enough to actually eat it. The cake itself was moist but lacked flavor. It took a really long time to come out, we thought perhaps they forgot, then forgetting we were celebrating a birthday on top of that was disappointing. Atmosphere - Beautiful space, very well done. The only issue is how close the tables are, you can't pull your chair back without hitting someone, and getting to the bathroom requires asking others to move because of how tight the layout is. Overall, we really enjoyed it and would return. While there were a few dishes we wouldn't order again, and others we would. Would love to try the wild mushroom pizza next time! The only thing was that since we had come to celebrate a birthday and didn't end up doing that, the night felt a little less special than we had expected--but still a nice experience overall.
