Carusos is my go-to place for pizza, by the slice! During lunch, you get a massive slice of pizza (pictured below - one slice cut in half) and a drink for $5! They have a few tables and chairs for indoor dining, but it's mostly a takeout option! The workers are always so friendly! Caruso's pan is my favorite pizza, period. Their thin crust is really good too, but holy cow that pan is pizza paradise. I'm so happy to have this joint close to home. Recently I've been trying their lunch specials. They sell pizza by the slice for $4, or for $5 with a can of soda. There are several other choices ranging from $8.99 to $10.99 for various sandwiches with fries and a soda, or a small one-topping pizza with a soda. read more

Tiny little hole in the wall pizza place next to a liquor store. Wow was it good. Accidentally ordered a deep dish pizza. Menu listed it as a pan which is a little thick but not deep dish in my neck of the woods several states away. Took a while to bake so I waited in my car since the place was tiny and filled with what appeared to be regulars. Massive thunderstorm started. Counter guy actually brought my pizza to the car for me in the rain. Such a nice guy! Pizza was still really warm by the time I got back to the hotel. Became pleasantly surprised when we tried the pizza. Totally out the big name deep dish places to shame. Nice amount of cheese with heart palpitations. Lots of good quality in it. Sauce was amazing. I wanted it on pasta it was so good. Spicy without burning, full-bodied without being cloying, well-seasoned. Chef's kiss. Dough was nice and thick like expected on a pan pizza. Nice crust to it. It's no Giordano's, but perhaps it's the best pizza in DesPlaines. I was on my way to the office and decided to stop in for a slice of pizza. It came out quick and hot. I ordered a large thin crust pizza, well done, and here's what I found: The crust was perfect, and the cheese-to-toppings ratio was excellent. The food was delivered hot, and the driver not only did contact-free delivery, they texted me to let me know my order had arrived. I also had the very large chicken wings (spicy was a good heat level for normal folks who don't want face-melting spice) and there were enough wings to save a few for later, cheers! Update. I ate the pizza. Well, I tried to. While warm it had absolutely no taste. Once cold it just tasted solely of salt and bitter green peppers. The crust has no flavor whatsoever. The toasted ravioli however was tasty. It seems that they have solely mastered the art of putting frozen prepared foods into a fryer. I haven't even had a chance to try their pizza and by the time I do it will be cold because I am waiting for the delivery driver Randy to leave the premises. My order was delivered 30 min earlier than expected (usually great) and I was not ready to go downstairs to my building lobby to pick it up. The delivery driver continually texted me until I agreed to come down and retrieve my order. He then refused to leave until he watched me pick up my order from the lobby. The other reviews have highlighted the pizzas a lot-which I honestly can't speak for. The 5 stars though-Italian beef one of the best beefs I've had in my...ever. My last meal would be an Italian beef within 99.9999% and now that I've had Caruso's I'm also 99.999% sure that my last meal would be an Italian Beef from this place. The meat is homemade and you can tell that it is, the beef has a more nuanced flavor than most places, Portillo's for instance is good but it's a big flavor. Caruso's beef seems like it's been simmered and spiced just right. The giardiniera in it was the right kind of spicy-not overwhelming heat but tasty, spicy, addition to the tasty beef and chewy bread. A great neighborhood place with a great homemade touch to their food. Awesome. read more
