This was my first visit to Texas Roadhouse (gotten takeout in the past), and it was a really good experience. The restaurant was busy and had that fun, high-energy atmosphere they're known for. It's a bit loud so keep that in mind if you are sensitive to noise. The warm rolls with cinnamon butter absolutely lived up to the hype, soft, fresh, and hard to stop eating. There is a meat display case in the front and you can choose your steak if you wanted but our steak wasn't shown. I ordered a steak cooked medium rare and it came out close to as requested. The portions for apps and sides were generous, and everything tasted good and well-seasoned. It was my birthday, and I had a coupon for a free appetizer, which was a nice bonus and easy to redeem. There were a few stretches where our waitress was clearly juggling several tables, so we waited a bit at times. That said, it never became a real issue, and she remained friendly and helpful throughout the night, checking on us multiple times. A couple small observations: peanuts weren't already on the table so we had to ask for them. We didn't see any of the staff line dancing that some people talk about. Also, since it was my birthday, I appreciated that when I opted out of the big birthday spotlight moment, they completely respected that without making it weird. Today was probabley one of the worst experiences we have had at this location regarding customer service and food. We are a family of four and ordered. A filet dinner. When it came out it wasn't a filet. We order from here all the time and can tell between a filet cut and ribeye - sirloin etc. Our waiter disappeared for a while. There were three staffer standing along the wall adjacent to our table so we got up and asked for our server . All three continued to stand there and said "No English" so we went to the main counter and asked for a manager and told them the issue. She just looked at us in confusion . A manager never came but the server did about 5 minutes later. Three others at the table already had finished their entire meal at this point . Tell the server the issue and he says it's a filet - comes back with a plate and just takes the filet to get another. At this point my accompaniments are cold since I like to eat as a meal and 2 of the four in our party had to leave due to time . I didn't physically eat in the restaurant, but I utilized the To Go window on a busy Monday. I have seen on the Internet that they have decent family meals, so decided to give it a go! I ordered the barbecue chicken breasts, house salad, green beans, and mashed potatoes with brown gravy. The order automatically came either with their famous bread and cinnamon butter. One of my best guy friends said to have his memorial dinner there someday so everybody can be happy instead of sad eating their bread and now I fully understand his sentiment. I also added an order of fried pickles, half a gallon of lemonade, and half a gallon of what was supposed to be unsweet tea. (I got sweet instead ) The portions were enough so no one left hungry, but we only had some chicken and bread/butter left after dinner. The chicken was flavorful, not dry, and their sauce was good for me! (I'm usually picky about barbecue sauce and maple syrup) The green beans were delicious. The salad was a great mixture with their crunchy croutons and shredded cheese. The cheese was enough for flavor, but not too much where I didn't feel like I wasn't eating vegetables anymore, haha. The pickles had a great breading to pickle ratio and the horseradish dipping sauce was so flavorful! The lemonade was fresh tasting, with not too much pulp or sweetness. The parents of my grandkids both had Roadhouse's attempt at a vegetarian meal. Somewhat of a fail, but at least they came. Neither ate the baked potato, for they used bacon grease to coat the skin. We live in Skokie but traveled all the way to Mount Pleasant specifically to experience Texas Roadhouse. It was absolutely worth the thirty-minute drive. The place was lively, with a forty-five-minute wait that proved worthwhile. The service was outstanding; Gabi, our server, was terrific. The ambience, featuring country music and servers celebrating birthdays at nearby tables, created a welcoming atmosphere. No, this isn't a top steakhouse. It's a simple family restaurant which features steaks among other things. They have a large menu with lots of choices. It's a fairly large space so it can be noisy. There were three of us. We had the petite fillet, a rib eye, and grilled shrimp. Everything was good. We each had steak fries. I also had a sweet potato, which was quite good. The service was outstanding. Our server was present, listened to our special requests and ensured the instructions were followed. And the manager stopped by to check on us during our meal. I've always had a solid experience at Texas Roadhouse. It's a great spot if you're craving a good steak without going to a super expensive steakhouse. The ribeye is the best item on the menu in my opinion. It's flavorful, cooked well, and definitely satisfies if you're in the mood for a hearty steak dinner. I'd say the steak quality is comparable to LongHorn Steakhouse in terms of steakhouse tiers. One of the best parts of the meal is the free buns they bring to the table with their cinnamon butter, which are honestly amazing and hard to stop eating. I mean, come on, where do I start? Roadhouse has it going man. I have been here many times for many different occasions and they don't ever miss. A solid dinner place any night of the week. I was here most recently back in December for a family meal just cause we were on holiday break. The online waitlist thing they have is really neat, as it allows us to plan things out a bit more smoothly. Sometimes its a little longer than they tell us but never anything terrible. It beats standing inside a packed waiting area for sure. It is always busy when we go, and they seem to do well managing the crowds. The wait staff is usually friendly and very helpful and do a great job making the experience worthwhile. The rolls they serve are incredible. They're fresh and baked to perfection. I always go for their grilled BBQ chicken, with french fries and the side caesar salad. The chicken is done nicely, and you best believe the sauce is smothered on that thang! The fries are superb and stand out with excellent quality. The salad is no joke either , and lowkey is my favorite place to order it. Solid crisp and dressing flavors are epic! Texas Roadhouse is top tier as far as budget steak houses go. It's a 1/2 hour drive from our house and definitely worth it. Even with a 45- minute wait this visit, it was worth it. They have reasonable drinks and a good variety of steaks along with a few other dishes. My filet was cooked perfectly and ny husband loved his grilled pork chops. You have your choice of two sides and their honey butter rolls are amazing. Came by for Dinner on a rainy day and it was pretty busy but we still got seated right away. The waiter was nice and made sure we had some bread when we were out. The butter with the bread is delicious and you also get a free bag of peanuts! I got the 8oz Steak with Shrimp and it also comes with 2 sides with good options too choose from. They also have a bar area with TVs for watching sports. It is family friendly here which they also have a horse settle you can sit on if it's your birthday! Went there around 3:25pm on 04/28/2026 with my wife hoping to have an early dinner. When we walked in, we noticed there weren't many customers and there were many empty booths. We asked for a booth. The girl at the front desk told us no booths were available. I said what about all the empty booths. She told us there aren't enough servers. I noticed that everyone seated was scattered all over the restaurant and all in booths. Reluctantly we said a table will be ok. The hostess walked us to a table that was literally surrounded by empty booths no more than two to three feet away from the table. I asked the hostess why is it that a server can serve us at this table but can't serve us at the booth just two feet away, while pointing to an empty booth. Out of about 9 visits, all were good except this one. It's been about a yr since I last visited and just went 1/18/26. So disappointed. Party of 2 both our meals were barely warm. This is pretty much my go-to place for anytime I want a meal that I know will be delicious and satisfying! I always look at the menu, but I really deviate from my usual which is an 8 oz sirloin and a loaded potato! Sometimes I want mashed sometimes I want baked but I always want it loaded with all the bacon and the cheese! I always order my meat medium rare because then if it's a little bit more cooked than I'd like, it's still a good medium. I try to be very understanding that especially during busy times over cooking can happen easily and if you find it happens to you the staff is always accommodating to fix whatever you need! I've had just about every server that works there and everyone is amazing! Managers routinely come by and check on the tables to see if anything is needed and ensure that everything is going smoothly and you're enjoying your visit every time! I love the Cozy feel and the roomy boots and the tables are great for a group as well! It can get a little loud on the weekends but I mean I feel like that should be expected! Cannot pass up the rolls and that delicious butter. We always ask for extra! Whether you want a fun place for a date night, a girl's night, a family outing or special occasion with a group, they'll always accommodate you! Just beware if you go on your birthday you're going to be made to likely get on that saddle! I recommend it to all my carnivore friends! We've been here a few times before with good experiences each time, so I decided this is where I wanted to go for my birthday Saturday evening. This was the wrong choice. Maybe should have waited to put our name on the list once we arrived instead of using the app as we wanted to request a table instead of a booth. There's no option for that request as part of the app. We requested a table once we got to the restaurant. We were told it will still be a bit of a wait for a table which was not a problem. A few minutes later, they tried seating us at a booth and didn't understand why we wouldn't just take the booth despite not five minutes ago stating the desire for a table. Eventually, we are seated at a table. Took a while for our server to acknowledge us and a few more minutes before they came to take our drink order. We requested an appetizer at the same time. We got our drinks quickly alongside an additional basket of bread. A while later, the server realized we never received our potato skins and comes back with some a couple minutes later. The cheese was just starting to melt in spots and still cold shreds on most of the skins. A couple minutes later, our meals came out. The house salad was missing a couple ingredients but they didn't want to say anything about that issue. I ordered a 6 oz sirloin medium well. I've never had a problem with this order before. The steak looked cooked medium well on the outside and on the end of the steak that I started eating. But the steak got redder and redder with each cut. They offered to replace the steak. The second steak was under cooked as well. They did remove the meal from the bill. At least two other tables in this section sent back their steaks while we were there so it wasn't a one off issue that night. Either they have new staff in the kitchen who still need more training or they were understaffed and cutting corners trying to get the food out. It's not enough to keep me from trying this location again. But it will be a while. read more

We had a table this time and the server was on point - he was very attentive and quick with everything! After going over... and over... the menu several times I finally decided on a the chicken tenders and I was not disappointed. DELICIOUS! Our food arrived HOT and the aromas emanating from the fried food were intoxicating! And let me tell you, the flavors matched the smells; expectations met! I ate until I was stuffed. I've visited two Texas Roadhouse locations (Kenosha, WI and Mount Prospect, IL) and both visits have been consistently excellent when it comes to service and food. Our recent visit to Mount Prospect was to celebrate my dad's birthday. Dad visited several steakhouses in the past but dinner at Texas Roadhouse was his firsthand experience. Post dinner my parents, like us, left impressed with the brand. His birthday fell on a weeknight and due to this I assumed the restaurant wouldn't be at peak where we could just walk-in. My hesitant self managed to reserve a waitlist spot on their app 15 minutes prior to arrival to play it safe. Once checked in, we met with our hostess and got seated in a booth. The dinner rolls with the cinnamon butter spread came shortly thereafter and our waitress got the ball rolling right away with our drink orders, apps and mains. Our meals were executed perfectly and to liking. Nothing in our order was overlooked and everything came out at a decent pace. The steaks were cooked right and the pricing is fair. Mom and birthday boy enjoyed their meals and happily took plenty home afterwards. Parking is never an issue because every Roadhouse we've visited so far tends to have ample parking space. Hopefully they can expand their chain to the Northeast suburbs because this steakhouse is truly a gem and I would love to see it come to our neck of the woods. read more

A hidden value place? When I think of reasonably priced food, I normally think of fast casual places more than sit down steak chains, but Texas Roadhouse flips that on its head. This is a busy place, with a nice interior, great service (except during peak times), reasonable prices (for 2024!) and good food. Notice I didn't say "great". The food is good, some of it a bit too salty, some of it not salty enough. Wouldn't really recommend the pulled pork, tasted overcooked, salty, and old. Wouldn't recommend the mac and cheese, lacked flavor. Everything else I have had here, multiple chicken dishes, onion blossom app, potato skin app, salads, mashed potatoes, baked potato, sweet potato, chili, are all great options! They do try to upsell a lot when you are ordering, so make sure if you accept their suggestions, you are aware there is an additional cost to most of it. Make sure to join their rewards program to be emailed free appetizer coupons from time to time. They also have an early dining program until 5pm where many dishes are $12.99 with is a great value. Good place for decent priced steaks. I'm not a red-meat eater, but my husband and kids enjoy coming here. The Mt Prospect location had friendly staff, clean restaurant, and the food was good. Kids had the rib kids meal and the Andy's steak. App for us was the onion cactus blossom, that is dangerously good. We also had a rib and shrimp dinner, I had the salmon and a side salad, while my husband had a porterhouse t-bone. Free peanuts and the rolls for starters are really soft and delicious with their sweet butter. FYI - not a peanut free facility for anyone that has allergies! There is also a warning of peanut dust. Dine in at Texas Roadhouse in Mt Prospect Illinois this evening. 08/08/25. I ordered the combo steak and ribs, with onions and mushroom, side of baked potatoes and corn As I was eating and enjoying my meal, ate about 3/4 of my steak, as chew my steak it tasted like I was chewing paper and when I cut the steak for my third bite, there was a piece of paper (look like a reciept paper) that was embedded under my entire steak! I called a server nearby and showed her what was on my plat- "paper", she offered replacement. I asked for the manager on duty- Roxanne. Manager came, I showed her my plate of steak and ribs with paper embedded under the steak. Her comment "oh it was a paper from". I immediately stopped her and responded "Yes, it's a paper and it does t matter where it was from! A paper on my plate of steak!" I got upset not only because I was serve with dirty, and yes it is dirty food, and instead of the Manager apologizing, her comment was appalling! As if it was no big deal! No apologies whatsoever!...which is very upsetting and dissatisfying! Our family is a frequent customer at the same location, ate there almost twice a month especially in special occasions. This place is not cheap but we love going and dining here. Tonight was not a good dining experience! Though, Andy was our server and was awesome!! Very good personality with phenomenal customer service skills. Made the night better with having Andy as our server. I am giving 1 star for the food quality- yup with extra paper on it!
