We attended the Covington Mugshots "soft opening". They had posted invites on their Facebook page for Fri-Sat-Sun, with all proceeds going to the Children's Advocacy Council. The food was fanastic! Better burgers than Times or Chili's, with great beer-battered fries and onion rings. The prices are on par for most places like this, from $7.99-$9.99 and thereabouts. In our party, we had the MacDonald, the Middleberger, the Big Kahuna and the Peanut Butter Burger. We also had the Spencer's Nachos (subbed fries for the chips) and the chips and salsa. The burgers were great and cooked perfectly, and came out as ordered. The service was still great, even with pre-opening jitters. Drinks came in large glasses. My only gripe, and this is in general, is "liquid cheese". To be fair, this didn't taste like the usual ballpark goop, but it just...doesn't look right. I have this sort of mental block. That being said, the cheese fries were tasty, and we will definitely be back! I want to try the pasta next, although the point of the place is their burgers, so I might just have to try the Savell next. Plenty of food (we had to get to-go boxes!) and a decent price on the menu. read more

Take out is terrible!!! I ordered the "Katies kickin chickin basket" tossed in the buffalo sauce. When I received my order, the tenders were BURNT and there was NO buffalo sauce or ranch. Meh. Not impressed. I know ordering grilled fish with veggies at a burger place is asking for it. However, if it can't be executed with some decency, it shouldn't be on the menu. The portion was diet-sized - even the veggies. However the real shame was how incredibly overcooked and dry the fish was, and how mushy and wet the vegetables were. Even Tony Chachere's couldn't revive it. My compatriot's burgers looked well-sized and juicy, but the fries wilted under the oil. As others have experienced, the service is non-existent. It's not even laid-back or lackadaisical. From the oblivious hostess, with a nearly empty restaurant, placing us right in between two hyper toddlers, to the server, who would just walk on by, with empty beers and water in front of us, and us waving frantically for attention. read more

Came here to try and sober up from the Abita brewery as it was still around 2:00 and plenty of day light left to party. So like I said, it was obviously after the lunch crowd, about 15% of the restaurant was filled with patrons. That being said I kept looking around to see if the restaurant had suddenly become packed due to how crappy the service was. I didn't really let it damper my day though. The food was pretty good, wasn't good enough for 4 stars but who cares. read more

So so, they have their specialty. The bread is sour dough I believe. No one was in there between lunch and dinner so service was fine. Big cups for your tea. There's also a burger challenge if you want to give it a try, if you don't eat it all you have to pay for the triple burger tho. I do not have the urge to go back. read more

DO YOURSELF A FAVOR AND ORDER THE POT ROAST NACHOS! Seriously they're great! Come here with an appetite because boy are their burgers big! You'll be full but can't stop eating because every bite is great. I get the Big Kahuna burger and it's the best burger I've had in Louisiana. However, I don't care for the French fries and the inside of the place is boring and generic. Try the food but just don't make this your one stop shop drinking spot! read more

So to start off this review I'd like to begin with the fact I ordered takeout, due to Covid-19, though I have heard they have a friendly accommodating wait staff I will only be able to give my opinion on their food. To start I had the mombo combo, a combination of three appetizers I went with fried pickles, southwestern egg rolls and the wings this is probably going to be the worst part of the review the southwestern eggrolls being the only saving grace for this. The fried pickles though having a large quantity were seriously over salted I couldn't make it past 2 pickle chips with out downing a whole glass of water, overall 1/5 I can't recommend these unless you seriously ENJOY SALT. Next the wings were dry with hardly any sauce and again overly salty I heard the wings here were as good as the burgers so I was sorely disappointed overall a 2/5 on these. The southwestern eggrolls however were decent very filling I actually enjoyed them and if I decide to eat hear again will be ordering just these 4/5. For my main course I selected the walker burger now this was a great burger and really changed my mind about giving mug shots a 2/5 review honestly you could come here and just get a burger and the fries the blue cheese on the walker burger gives it a good bite and the bun though I don't know what kind it is is delicious! The fries were okay a little cold understandable for take out I imagine If they were fresh they would've been excellent though! Overall the burger was a straight 5! But the fries brought the whole thing down to a 4. If it wasn't for the underwhelming appetizers and the fact they forgot my potato salad I would've loved to give this place a better review just because of how great the burger was! But for right now based off of this experience I can only give you guys a 3. I may be back to try again probably would just stick to a burger and no apps though!! read more

We always enjoy mugshots. This time the service was a little lacking. The food is always good. My daughter loves the nachos. We order drinks and nachos. Then a few minutes later order our burgers. We were disappointed when 5 minutes later our burgers arrive after getting the nachos. So when had almost a full plate of nachos come home. Moving to Mandeville area I was looking for a place with good food and good atmosphere. I found it and then some here Haleigh at the bar is the reason I return. Having someone who remembers you abd your order goes a long way. I'm a GM of a hotel so I know finding someone this good is hard to find. My husband and I really enjoyed Mugshots until this last visit. The waiter was good, but the new menu is terrible. I ordered my usual which is the Gobbler (trying to eat healthy) only to find out that they changed it completely. I guess I should have read the fine print....but it had everything on it that I try to avoid. ( I do not like avocados and bleu cheese). I scraped it off but the burger was disgusting. The meat was not completely cooked and the sweet potato fries were cold and hard. We had already waited long enough for our food, so to send it back would have taken way too long. Hopefully they got the hint when I left the food on the plate. Please get it together because we usually enjoy your restaurant, but I think after this experience it will be awhile before I return if I even choose to return. read more

Came here because of their title "best burger on the Northshore"... we were sadly disappointed. It took about 20 minutes for our meal to arrive even though the dining room was less than filled. Ordered mashed potatoes for my infant son and when they arrived the perimeter of the bowl was piping hot and the center like ice. Obviously they serve frozen mashed potatoes. Yuck! My other son and my husband ordered burgers. While they both said they loved the buns, they weren't fans of the burgers themselves. My sons sweet potato fries also arrived room temp not warm at all. Wanted a really good burger! Unfortunately mine came out pink and raw. My friend and I swapped pattys but then he said it was way too bloody. They cooked him a new burger but this time it was burnt! He had to carve into it! Not once did our server offer to comp anything or apologize. We were on our way home from out of town so I didn't bother to talk to a manager. I was ready to hit the road and go home! I'm not sure what kind of meat they use but it tasted like those frozen pattys you get out of Walmart! Never going there again. read more

Not impressed. The fries were good but there was something off about the burgers. They were perfectly square shaped and had a different flavor. When I pressed the waitress she admitted the patties were FROZEN. She explained that they were indeed defrosted before they were put on the grill. Not sure how that matters. The menu says "fresh" ground beef. I guess their definition of "fresh" is previously frozen. I don't think I've ever had a frozen burger at a proper restaurant before. The owners should be ashamed. "Gourmet Burgers"? I don't think so. They taste like they came from the frozen food aisle at the grocery. This place is all smoke and mirrors. The building is nice and new and the staff is friendly. For this reason (combined with the fact that they serve alcohol and have TVs everywhere), I'm sure they will do fine. I just find it annoying that they present the food as gourmet and fresh when in fact it is FROZEN. I disagree with the reviewer who says these burgers are the best in town. I can think of numerous other restaurants in the area I would rather pay 8.99 plus tax and tip for FRESH meat. read more

Mugshots is our go-to because our teenagers like it and my husband and I can get something as well, so it's a spot for the whole family to enjoy. You can't go wrong with the philly sandwich. It's a hit every time. The chicken strip basket is a great option for the kids. I will say that my teens absolutely hate their beer battered fries, so those are always skipped by my kids. The service can be iffy at times, but if you get Caitlin, she is awesome EVERY time. We always ask for her now because she hits it out of the park with her customer service skills! read more

Been here 3 times already and tried a different burger each time. Good food only complaint so far was our last waitress wasn't very professional. She sat at a booth across my table and was chatting up some boys who could be her brothers but still you can't constantly" hangout" if you're at work.She would walk around to her tables and sit back with the boys and talk loudly. Nice new place. We went for lunch and could sit outside. We declined to sit on the patio next to the smoker as it was filled with smoke, but on the other side of the restaurant we could enjoy our lunch outside without coughing and we could actually see each other at the opposite side of the table.
