Well I was absolutely delighted with our choice for lunch out today. Missy was our server and was just wonderful.. a seasoned server for sure. I wasn't starving so I ordered an app. I saw the a great looking plate on someone's table behind us and asked what they were eating.. they said the tuna tartar and that it was really delicious.. that's all I needed to hear. He ordered a cheeseburger and fries. The food came quickly. My tartar was crazy delish. I couldn't wait to write this review for them. His burger was very good. All in all we had a great time. As a return customer our most recent visit to mill wharf was lackluster at best. Aside from the great view and atmosphere there is little we were pleased with. It was not particularly busy. We got sat outside right away. Hostess was very nice. Once seated we waited for 15-20 minutes before we ever saw a waitress. I don't usually keep track but when I start wondering where our server is it's usually a sign. The food was all ok. And maybe it was just our server being seldom seen. But at the end of the meal we had a $200+ bill for a dozen oysters two lobster rolls and a grilled cheese with two canned drinks that were ok. After waiting and waiting with our table stacked up and ready to leave we finally walked inside to find some way to pay because the waitress was missing again. Paying was sorted out quick and while I can't speak to what was going on we were told good help is hard to find. While I don't mind paying the full bill and reflect service in tip accordingly, it was not even offered to take a small item like a drink off. In short it's not what it used to be. Whether that's new ownership, bad luck, or a combination, but we will not be back for a while. There are better places for a lobster rolls and oysters. Just a shame really read more

Casual restaurant located on the water in Scituate, MA. My family and I were given the choice of sitting inside or outside. We chose outside and were seated immediately for dinner outside on the first floor. The view on the water was absolutely gorgeous. Service was somewhat slow. They brought us waters immediately, but then it took a while to take our actual order. We ordered the nachos as an appetizer and I ordered the jumbo shrimp for my entree. We got the nachos about 25 minutes after ordering and then 3 minutes later, our dinner came out. It wasn't ideal timing and the server did apologize for everything coming almost all at once. However, the nachos were VERY good. I highly recommend ordering for an appetizer. The jumbo shrimp with fries wasn't bad, but I thought $30 for that basic meal was outrageous pricing. Sitting outside was nice at first with the breeze, but then the staff decided to put down the plastic window cover. I'm not sure if they did it to block the sun, but it enhanced the sun and made it feel like a sauna. We were sweating while eating so it wasn't the most enjoyable experience. Went there on Mother's Day - party of seven. Restaurant was about 70 percent full. I arrived about 15 minutes after the main group and waited about 15 minutes to order a beer. 25 minutes later got my beer. Waitress took our order about 30 minutes later. We had to wave her down for another order of drinks while we waited at least an hour for the food. My clam roll was decent but nothing exciting. Two of the party ordered the fish tacos that arrived cold and one got the Cobb salad that had wilted sitting in dressing for so long. Waitress never came back after receiving our food. Went to Mill Wharf for lunch with my Sister. One thirty Thursday afternoon. Upstairs closed due to lack of business. Had to sit down stairs. Sister got the Lobster casserole as recommend special of the day. What a Joke. Little seafood mostly pasta. My fish sandwich was way overcooked and tough buns literally burned inside.2 drinks and an Iced Tea 89 dollars. This place has gone way down hill compared to how it used to be. High prices with a cook who works for cheap. Never going there again .Like many others. read more

Beautiful night in Scituate so we ate on the outdoor deck right on the water. The view at the restaurant is 10/10 and the perfect location if you're looking for some watering dining. We started off with the shrimp cocktail and the four shrimp were large and tasted great. Not a bad appetizer at all. I order the blackened swordfish which came with rice and green beans. The rice was nothing special and the green beans were decent. The blackened swordfish was good but the portion was exceptionally tiny, especially with the price tag that came with it. Others ordered the fish and chips and a fish sandwich. Both of them were very good and the fries were expertly cooked. The fish was flaky and tasty and the sandwich and fish and chips both had a reasonable portion of fish. The service was attentive and friendly. read more

No acknowledgement, never says hello I'll be right with you, on the phone ignoring you, it appears she is a manager or owner. a poor example of hospitality for the young servers. The food was mediocre at best. The gentleman who served us was nice. The ambiance of being on the water is not worth it. The drinks are good. We will not be returning. read more

We had dinner at the MW 11/25 against my advice but guests from out of town remember what the MW was not is now. Lobster Mac - we sent back and were comped for that dish. The fried seafood was not done well mushy. Salmon was in a pool of oil. The pizza was done well though. The service was awful and restaurant had maybe 10 patrons. A friend told us about this place so we decided to drive "off Cape" to Scituate for an early dinner. I must say that the experience was very nice but for a couple of hiccups. We started off with a plate of oysters that were beautiful. We moved on to calamari which were delicious, but where were the tentacles? Those are actually my favorite in a plate of fried calamari. Bright colorful and piquant pepper rings made the dish beautiful and the rings were tender and flavorful. I had "scrod" with crumbs with mashed potatoes and slaw. The food was nice and hot and just right. No problems with this one. The hiccups came with the service. We were greeted quite quickly by the server who announced that she would "be taking care of us", got us our drinks and because we are the types that peruse menus before we go anywhere, we knew just what to order (in lieu of specials) and ordered when she returned with our drinks. That was the last we saw of her until it was time to pay the bill. Instead we were treated to food runners who were "taking care of us". The oysters were not a problem. They were eaten quickly, but after the calamari arrived and were towards the end of being enjoyed, our entrees came and the runner just stood there with our food in his hands waiting for us to clear a place for our entrees by moving the calamari dishes to another part of the table. When I suggested that he could take the oyster plate away and the calamari plates as well, he looked like I had just asked him to compute to the last digit the value of pi. After grunting "uh.." he took off leaving the dishes there. I guess that his job was just food runner, not busboy because he was short-circuiting about taking the plates away. Another person came over and removed them. I ABSOLUTELY HATE when clueless staff arrive at my table with the next course without checking to see if we are finished with the one we are in the middle of. As parents of the bride, we were hosting a dinner the night prior to the wedding for a party of 12. It was going to be larger, but snow fall in the midwest hindered some out of town guests from attending. The staff were quite accommodating to several changes in our reservation, from 8 up to 16, then down to 12. Always, "no problem, we've got you covered" attitude. This is a lovely spot right on the water in the equally lovely town of Scituate. We arrived on a Friday afternoon about a month ago now...I thought I had posted this review already but just discovered that I hadn't. Arriving inside, the restaurant is fairly large and includes bar seating. One can eat either inside or weather depending on the large waterfront deck. While a beautiful day when we arrived, it was quite breezy on the water so although there was an outdoor table we opted to sit indoors but right next to the large wide open windows facing the water. It was almost like being outside except with less of the too cool breeze. The views are stellar! We were quickly greeted by our server Tim. More on him later. We were provided with menus and ice water. He returned shortly for drink orders. I went with a rosé wine and Tom stuck with water. The menu is primarily seafood but with a couple of chicken, steak, salad and pasta dishes so there should be something for most. Scituate is fishing village and the harbor we looked out on has some active fishing boats. It is usually seafood one wants here I would think. We decided on the calamari appetizer and then we each ordered the scrod sandwiches. We were told by Tim that they came with fries or cole slaw not both. I thought this was odd. I have been eating a lot of fish this summer in restaurants and I have not seen a choice between fries or slaw. Usually it comes with both. We both opted for the fries. The calamari which came in a Thai chili sauce with sliced banana peppers was good but despite the sauce and peppers was oddly, too bland. I think there simply was not enough seasoning on the calamari when it was being cooked. They were cooked nicely...meaning not overcooked but the calamari breading needs much more seasoning. Our fish sandwiches were good although I wish the bun had been of better quality. The very good fish deserved a better vehicle. The portion was a nice size, the fish tasted fresh and was seasoned properly. The fries were good, not great. Like the calamari, I found them to be bland and not seasoned properly before frying. Once we had placed our food orders with Tim the waitperson, that was the very last we saw of him until we needed to hunt him down for the check. The calamari was brought out by a runner. This app was served on a large platter. The runner placed it on the table but gave us no small plates nor a serving utensil so that Tom and I could serve ourselves. I had to ask the runner to provide these items. So odd! Did they think we were going to eat out of the serving dish? Later, the runner returned with our fish sandwiches. Tim the waiter was now officially MIA. Throughout the entirety of our meals, he never returned to check in to see how our food was. He never returned to ask if we wanted more water, if I wanted another glass of wine, whether we wanted dessert. Nothing, nada, zilch service. When we finished our meals we sat there talking and enjoying the water view for awhile. We enjoyed the food well enough, and now just wanted the check. We kept waiting for Tim. And waiting. Tick Tock. Finally, I went up to the desk to ask if someone could find him. Only then did Tim show up and with nary a thank you or to ask if we wanted anything else, he just placed the check on the table. Since we arrived after 2pm the restaurant was somewhat active with customers but not at all swamped by any means. Where had Tim gone? Of course we still gave him a tip in the legitimate tip ballpark but it was on the lower end of that scale...we are usually generous tippers but this service was not conducive to feeling like tipping above and beyond. Tim's lack of attention was an F in my book. Maybe he was having a rough day. We can all have bad days but...at the risk of sounding harsh, that's not my problem when I am out for a meal ostensibly to relax, be served and enjoy myself. If you've come to work, suck up whatever it is that is going on in your life and do your job, check on your customers and keep in mind that's why you're there. That's why you're hoping to be tipped well. I don't know if Tim is summer seasonal help or a long-termer. If it's the latter, I hope management retrains him. If at the end of the summer goes on to greener pastures, I'd advise a job not in customer service. I don't want to see him fired, just retrained. Note to management: When serving appetizers like the calamari, please instruct your staff to provide proper plates and a serving utensil versus expecting people to eat communally as out of a trough. The 3 rating (versus a 4) is primarily because of the wait service. I would consider returning here again to try something else on the extensive menu with I would hope an improvement in service. If it was a repeat of today, I'd cross this place off my list. We know of plenty of local spots with topnotch service. read more

We went on 10/26/25. Great location on the water with good views. The service was bad. Waitress took her time to greet us and then it took a while to get our drinks. When we got our food, tuna poke and fish sandwich, the portions were small. The fish sandwich had a very thin piece of fish, which got lost in the roll and the fries were cold. The waitress brought hot fries and then never checked in with us again. My wife had to stand up and put her jacket on before the waitress, who was hanging out at the hostess desk, noticed us. The bus person, who served our food, had a visible bandage on his arm which I noticed him rubbed after serving our food. The bus person was also carving a small pumpkin at the hostess desk when we were leaving. He was doing this while there were several people standing in line, waiting to be seated. My wife and I met two old friends for lunch on a rainy Thursday and had a delightful lunch. I had chicken milanese and my wife had a tuba poke bowl and both were excellent. Our server was Missy and she was friendly, accomodating and overall great. In terms of a water view there really isn't a table where you aren't sitting on the water and the seating was comfy and the restaurant was busy but not so noisy that we couldn't chat easily. Our server, Debbie was friendly, laughed with us and gave us great recommendations to do in town. The food (lobster roll, shrimp cocktail, and strawberry avocado salad) had to be the freshest ingredients I've had in a very long time!! Do not get the fish sandwich!!! There's no fish! The Slice of fish was so thin it was unrecognizable with no taste other than the bread crumbs. This filet was the thinnest part of the tail. The meal consisted of nothing but a roll, breadcrumbs thin slice of tomato, lettuce and French fries. Otherwise the service was good. But this sandwich was a total waste of money.
