This cafe on the golf course doesn't seem like its such a great place. Plastic chairs, plastic tables, and always empty... but my family and I eat here almost every weekend. They have a wide variety of food ranging from salads, to sandwiches, burgers, and breakfast. Your typical all-american joint, but I highly highly recommend the chipotle chicken wrap. Its delicious. My brother ordered the honey mustard chicken sandwich and it was HUGE. It was so big that they used a knife as a toothpick, A KNIFE. I came to Mulligans to have dinner and since it was such a nice day out. Well the lady at the front that worked there on 7/17/2020 was completely disrespectful to me and my partner and made me feel like I did not matter. I understand that a lot of rich folks show up here to play their rounds of golf but that kind of treatment is unacceptable. I almost felt racially discriminated against. My partner and I walked off the premises without saying a word. We are disgusted. Never coming back here again 0 stars. read more

I attended a catered function at Mulligans and it was lousy. The three available entrees were served at my table and no one was happy. I had the chicken cordon bleu and my wife had the tri tip. We had a few bites and that was it. The service was good and so was the vibe but these dishes were bad. It appeared that our catered dining experience was separate from the "general population". So maybe the quantity affected the quality. read more

Mulligan's for breakfast/brunch is a nice venue with friendly and efficient staff, but they have one policy that I find off-putting: They will not make a substitution without charging $1.50. Not a lot of money, but charging extra for leaving the cheese OFF and adding spinach to my omelette is not customer-friendly. I didn't ask for an addition - I asked for spinach instead of peppers, and held the cheese. It would seem that this is a win-win. Whatever their reason, they're shooting themselves in the foot when other, busier establishments are willing to accommodate. We eat breakfast out often, and enjoy Farmer Boy, Cody's, Breakwater, and Chad's regularly. ALL of them are happy to substitute without nickel-and-diming customers. read more

Place wasn't busy but service was slow from start to finish. My scrambled eggs had a weird sweet flavor. Bacon ok but more fat than meat. Potatoes we're pretty cold, other food room temp at best. My sister said her biscuit was more like a roll but the gravy was good. No one was really saying much about their food because I'm guessing there wasn't much to say. Since 2 of us work(ed) as servers we both thought the server was slow and pretty indifferent. We both ordered tri tip sandwiches for pick up, and the sandwiches were fabulous. When my partner got there to pick up the order, he saw the pozole soup and it looked so good he ordered that as well. Love Mulligan's, we have used this restaurant for years. The food is always great and the price is very reasonable. The only issue that we have is that a group of 6 or more is on one check. In the future we will not eat with a group of 6 or more, it created a major issue last night on figuring out our bill between credit cards and cash. When trying to find a seat at Mulligans we were searching for open tables as it's self seat when you notify a server. We notified a server and were looking for a nice table to sit at. We found one with place settings in which a server told us it was reserved and that we had to find another one in which my family politely said that we'd look around and began searching. The server then returned which she asserted if "we had a problem because we are being rude and had an attitude". We said we were okay. However the banter continued and we decided to leave after a terrible confrontation and asked for her manager. In which she claimed she was the manager which shocked us even more. Employees need to treat customers with respect even if they are managers. My family has never heard this in a restaurant setting before. read more

We really enjoy the relaxed atmosphere on the patio outside, and the service is generally friendly, particularly when one of the owners is the server however, yesterday two of us got what is arguably the worst ham and eggs I ever had in my life. The ham was dry and tough didn't even eat half of it. The hash browns. crispy on the outside as we ask for, but the inside was like some tasteless marsh and although I know eggs have been a problem this year I don't know how they could find eggs that small two eggs were barely 2 bites the toast was stone cold and seemed like the bread was last months did I send anything back? No not worth the trouble but you would think when a server sees 3/4 of a ham on the plate, most of the hashbrowns and all but one piece of the toast. They might ask if anything needed to be fixed .That all Led to a conversation at our table about how we like the place but the food really varies a lot. Situated with beautiful indoor and outdoor views of the municipal golf course, they serve fabulous burgers, ribs, great salads etc. We had excellent, friendly service from Lani and our food was cooked to perfection by her husband Mario. If you visiting Santa Barbara looking for the perfect romantic dinner and you go to Yelp, you don't want some Yutz giving them five stars and tricking you into thinking that it is Santa Barbara's top tier. Farm to table it is not! Romantic? Hardly! But I like it! More on that later. I went golfing! Way too funny. Don't know how I got tricked into it but if you remember that show where Paris Hilton had to stick her arm up the butt of some cow, it was kind of like that. I did see my next career though, Beverage cart girl, I can see myself doing that. Maybe Mulligan's was so good because I was coming off an experience that was so bad. But I ordered a club sammy and a beer. Well I ordered more than one beer-did you know that people bet when they golf? If you suck it can be expensive. I digress. The sandwich was very good and the bacon was crispy. They have a huge menu too so there is a lot of variety. The people were super nice and the food came very quickly. I would go back. To Mulligan's, not to golf. It looks like it would be a great place to have a big party too! Not expensive and they have a huge room that I bet is always available after the golfers leave. Mulligans is one of the best kept secrets in Santa Barbara. Most do not know about this place, unless they are a local, or a golfer. Anyone can eat there, and the food is great. I mostly go to Mulligan's for breakfast, as you can't go wrong with just about anything from the breakfast menu. The service is actually pretty good for a small golf course cafe. Tip: sit out on the patio and enjoy nice views of the greenbelt, and sometimes even the Pacific Ocean! read more

Since I don't golf, I had no idea this place existed until a friend introduced me to it recently. The cafe is on the smaller side with tables in various niches, some outside bordering the golf course, some inside, some in a reserved banquet area. The great thing is that they serve breakfast all day! I had a California benedict with hash browns that was made just right and delicious. Once you place your order, it comes out quickly. But it takes a little longer before and after to place your order and get the check. The atmosphere is more laid back, where no one is in a rush. This place probably doesn't have as many reviews because the customers, at least when I was there for a weekday lunch, are an older demographic and less likely to use yelp. read more

If you've made the unfortunate choice to go there, stay far away from the emaciated, cold chicken wings, the slop nachos, and the tepid, bland prime rib dinner. Apparently I'm alone on this, but I love this place. I don't golf, however I do enjoy having a cocktail and wasting away a perfectly good afternoon at the neighborhood course. I have a half day on Mondays and this is my favorite destination after work for a late lunch/happy hour kick-off. Super relaxing, decent food, lovely view from the patio. It's like being on my front porch only better because people bring me food and drinks. There's even a cat that roams the patio. They serve generous portions that are reasonably priced. The chicken taco salad is my favorite - real shredded chicken that has been cooked in a seasoned sauce. My boyfriend gets the club sandwich and it's served on yummy bread. Good onion rings, too. Very good restaurant if you want some homie, hearty American food. It is located in a somewhat isolated location, right next to the golf course. Luckily for us, you do not need to be a golf club member to eat here. We came here for dinner and sat outside, which gave us a lovely view of the golf course and some mountains in the distance. It was also more quiet outside. Once we went back inside to the Bar to exit, it was pretty loud. We ordered the daily specials: meatloaf and pork chops with a side of mash potatoes. These dishes also came with a salad or soup, and a side of vegetables (broccoli & carrots). Both entrees were tasty and filling. The prices were decent, around $13-$15 for the entrees we ordered. Mulligan's catered our wedding on July 11th. We had the traditional SB menu of tri tip, chicken, beans, caesar salad and garlic bread. It was super delicious and we had lots of compliments on the catering. They brought tons of food and everything was presented well. The service people they had at the reception were also on top of clearing plates and filling glasses. Only thing I would recommend to change is to offer a tasting for the catering, so that you can choose your food options that way. We had to come to the restaurant as a customer and purchase the closest thing they offered on the menu to taste the food we chose. read more

Have visited Mulligans every year for 16 years during a golf tournament. 3 days we choose to eat at Mulligan's.. After this trip, we may not go back. The slow service and attitudes of the staff were unacceptable. We missed not seeing the owners and it appears the kids who are left to run it just don't have the same level of attention. At one point when we had to get up to ask for service to which we were greeted with "she's at the table that moved it" as if we were not standing right there. It was incredibly rude. We were with residents of SB, I can't imagine shaming patrons will benefit what once was a great restaurant with a friendly atmosphere. read more

I normally really like to eat here (hence the 4-star rating), however this past visit was not very pleasant. I ended up having to get our food out of the window after having it sit there for well over 5 minutes, if not 10. The waitress was not very attentive and would forget things that we had asked for. I think I just died and went to heaven. Breakfast at Mulligan's is the best. I have normally just grabbed a hotdog and a beer when golfing or passing by, but I finally had an opportunity enjoy a working breakfast this week and was blown away. The food was excellent. Simple and classic. But what really knocked my socks off was our waitress, Melinda. Melinda treated us like we have been dining at Mulligan's for years as opposed to being first-timers. She made a recommendation to my guest and made us both feel like big shots. If you ever are in the area for lunch or breakfast, I highly recommend Mulligan's. Stayed in Santa Barbara for Thanksgiving week and decided to come to Mulligan's for their Thanksgiving Buffet. Turkey, ham, prime rib, mashed potatoes and gravy, pie, etc. Really good. The best part for us though was how nice everyone was. Apparently they are family owned and from the second we walked in the door they were all making sure we were greeted and taken care of. Our waitress, (maybe a daughter?) was fantastic and super friendly. They were really welcoming and made Thanksgiving dinner feel as homey as it could be considering we were at a restaurant. Mulligans chef, Mario, prepares the best Prime Rib in town! Friday and Saturdays only. Better than TeeOff, Chucks' and others who have a 'reputation' for prime rib. Salads are good, seasonal steamed veggies, baked potato, what more could you ask? Good wines at competitive prices and I'm a happy camper. The 'ambiance' is golf course but the VIEWS are better than nearly everyplace in SB! If you like the natural beauty and gentle ocean breeze that is prevalent, Mulligans is your place. read more
