I eat here both as a neighbor and as a golfer. The view is unbeatable! The food is hit or miss: tri-tip chili is delicious especially with a hotdog; I appreciate that you can add onions and cheese. The breakfast burrito was meh. The club sandwich is substantial. I wish they would bring back the fish tacos, because they were amazing. Everything is in disposable containers, which is great if you're on the course but less appealing if you're dining in. Prices are definitely on the higher side. Most frustrating to me is that they still only accept credit/debit cards for payments, but welcome cash tips. Cash is legal tender!! Hours are tight, too--kitchen seems to close at 4 pm. I would certainly go more often if they were open later, especially given the stunning sunsets we experience in winter! read more

The view! Can't beat a gorgeous sunny day by the water enjoying a delicious lunch. This restaurant is a hidden gem, likely not noticed by a regular commute but worth the out of the way journey to get here. The club sandwich was very fresh and light. Paired with a pickle wedge and chips. There are wine options also. Plenty of indoor or outdoor seating overlooking the Pacific Ocean and golf course. The finishings and furniture could be much better, it's a bit run down, so not a fancy place but has great potential for it. read more

Absolutely gorgeous views but mediocre food. The tuna melt fell apart right away. We were excited to try there house chips but it was just a bag of potato chips. The tri-tip sandwich was basic and forgettable. The best part of the meal was the pickle slice on the side of the sandwiches. Two stars one for the pickle and one for the view. read more

Cafe is open to public (you don't have to be golfing to eat here). Delicious food! I always get the Ellwood sandwich, hubby always get the patty melt whenever we eat here. Never had a bad experience! Beautiful views of the golf course and ocean. read more

No frills 19th Hole with smiling faces, grill food and one hell of a view. Weekday lunch, just before the morning tee time rush arrived Order at the window, take a number and a seat from one of the 6 four tops inside or 10 out with a killer view of the links and sea. I chose the Elwood grilled turkey at $13 with a side of chips. No fryer so no fries. Did not need them anyway. The sandwich came out quickly and was good. While there's nothing special about the menu, I'll come here for the views. The other golf course down the street has better food, table service and a nice view but they're slower and not on the ocean cliffs. Looking for a quick lunch that's not packed and take in the ocean, look no further and tee up at the Sandpiper Grill. read more

This place is such a beautiful place to have lunch but one of the workers makes the whole experience awful! This girl literally sat on the food counter where the food was being placed and all the condiments are at! She didn't get up to take orders or to deliver food to the customers! She had an unpleasant facial expression and was rude! The sandwich was HUGE but there were some pretty wilty pieces in my salad which made it a little unappetizing so that's why I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Went here for a casual lunch with my partner. Absolutely beautiful view of the golf course and ocean. It is so lovely you'll want to stay to bask in the sunlight. The food is classic and fairly tasty. Nothing too special with the food. We got the Ellwood sandwich and a side salad which tasted like a classic turkey melt with leafy greens and the Tuna Wrap with mango coleslaw which was a blandish tuna wrap with pepperoncini slices and a basic coleslaw with slices of unripe mango. 3 stars for the food. 5 for the view. 4 overall, Sandpiper. Unfortunately, I didn't have a great experience here. Both times, the service has been incredibly slow. The last time my SO and I came here, it took nearly an hour for our food to come out, and when it did, they brought me a dish I hadn't ordered. After almost an hour of waiting for food after we ordered, they had to make what I actually ordered. This took additional time. The carnitas quesadilla I ordered was actually good, but there were pieces of bone in the pork. That morning, there was a golf event scheduled at the course, and there were more people than normal. However, the grill hadn't brought in more people to cook, so there was only one person taking orders and one person cooking. It seems really ridiculous today that the grill wouldn't have had the forethought to bring in additional cooks on a day which would most definitely see increased traffic. Waiting an hour for breakfast is pretty ridiculous. read more

Ate here a few times. It got 3 stars only because of the view. It's lovely and perfect to enjoy a meal with. They couldn't have screwed up my order any worse. The place isnt a packed spot so there's really no excuse other than just being sloppy at paying attention! I ordered a deli sandwich, asked for Turkey, avocado, lettuce, thousand island on wheat. They brought me the Ellwood. I didnt want mushrooms, I didnt want sourdough, I didnt want onions. Not sure how they screwed that one up, its not rocket science. The prices are a bit steep considering the food quality. Its not bad, but its not great either. If you're just looking for a place to escape for a vew and food is second on the list, it's a good choice. read more

Little bit sloppy just to add a package of chips to the burger..... When we came back after 18 holes at 5.00 pm they had closed so we went for a couple beers at a different place. Sandwiches and burgers are great and on par with a nice restaurant. But, on a clear day there is few places better to go to for a nice quiet lunch! The green fairways leading to the ocean and island views are why we live here and this place is a gem for a quick work lunch get away or just a treat for yourself. read more

Worst experience ever. I took a vegan friend to lunch and they messed up her order 3 times and my order twice. The place was empty yet they couldn't get the service right. We ordered two sandwiches and asked for a substitution of tomato in place of turkey, added avocado and no sauce.Both sandwiches came without avocado and the first attempt at the vegan sandwich came with the non-vegan sauce and cheese. When we politely requested the sandwiches to be remade, the cook was rude and again messed up the sandwiches. The third attempt at an edible meal for my vegan friend and they delivered the sandwich without the salad. Overall, I was very disappointed and we finally got the sandwiches to go. It shouldn't take a total of 7 attempts to get 2 sandwiches made correctly. On top of that, the service was poor in just about every respect. The experience was beyond terrible but the location is gorgeous! Still not enough to recommend going here, especially if you have any special dietary needs. read more
