Do yourself a huge favor and go right for the hot specialty subs. These overstuffed behemoths, especially the large, are more than enough for 2 people to share. We split the steak and cheese and I could not have been happier, as this sandwich was the real deal. Kudos to the friendly staff for walking the floor and engaging their customers in friendly banter. I also love the cool Coke freestyle machine but what truly impressed me, aside from that ridiculously delicious sandwich was the charitable contributions they make to local first responders.

It was pretty obvious that the staff was not totally up to speed just yet; the light kitchen staff looked busy:, on the order side of the counter there were four or five employees standing around doing nothing; two ladies on the pick up side handled my entire order. The lady tried hard to make a milkshake for me, and it did taste good, but it was very thin. The burger was very good, but the Cajun fries were over seasoned (which is saying a lot, since I grew up around here and like things really spiced up) and soggy. I ate about half the fries, and after finishing the burger, it felt very heavy in my belly all night long. Maybe in a couple months I'll give them another try, but I'll be sure to tell them to make the fries extra crispy. I gave them one extra star for not using Styrofoam.

The guy taking orders seemed new and friendly. Unfortunately, his conversation tended to move away from taking orders and trying to make small talk with the customers. Once at the register, it seemed that the guy was new (or newer) and struggled with the orders a little bit. After repeating my order a few times, he got it. The fried fish was good - nicely breaded, mild catfish (no muddy taste), and good crispy fries. The shrimp remoulade salad is kind of puzzling, though. Small, unseasoned boiled shrimp on a pile of lettuce. After being boiled with no seasoning, the shrimp are then heavily coated with red pepper (or maybe Cajun seasoning). And the remoulade sauce is in small condiment cups on the side - barely enough to dress the salad. But most of the food here is pretty good (the burgers are massive), and most plates come with enough for some extra to take home.
