She also subbed out the sweet potato fries for the baked potato and thoroughly enjoyed both. My other friend, with the soup, also said it was top notch. I'm not always a fan of wraps, but I hadn't really wanted something too big. Turns out the wraps are solidly huge, and so delicious. I did get the baked potato with mine, but I saved it for later as there's no way I could've eated all that and still functioned for the rest of the day. The staff was super friendly, even if there were some issues trying to figure out the new computer system. The cost is a bit pricey, but I did think there was a lot there for the money, so if you're budgeting for it, it's not so bad (also, my drink cost just as much as my food, but I won't cut that out!) The staff were awesome, and they even delivered the food next door to us when it was ready so we didn't have to leave our tables for long. Overall, it's a solid meal. Quite filling and worthwhile if that's what you're looking for while on Oak Street.

When our server, who was very nice, brought our order to the kitchen, i seemingly heard someone in the kitchen loudly complaining that I had ordered the soup... There were also only two other people in the restaurant the whole time we were there, but yet the wait for the food, again just two wraps and sides, was long. Now, a few hours after dinner, my roommate and I both have tummy aches... All of this combined with the drama of the restauranteur, means I will most likely not be returning nor recommending.

And 15 minutes later we still don't have our 6 crabs. So we're wondering why it took so long to prepare the 6 crabs. They said they were rewarming them. So we ask again are they fresh and they said YES WERE PROMISE. Right after we got the crab and went to the car. Me and my husband check the crab. They were bag twice and the sauces is on the top of the crab. My husband crack the claws and it was slimmy and the meat is black and smell rotten. My husband went back inside and told the owner. And the owner said it was not rotten and open one of the crab and he saw the gills are all black. And he said we don't know about seafood. But we know enough what is rotten seafood. It was not an honest mistake because we ask them 3 times if it was fresh and they said YES. We received the refund. We just want to let everybody know what experience we have in the BAYOU STAR CAFE.
