We shared dishes that featured Truffle Fries, Prime Rib Steak bites, Pipikaula Jerky, a Kampachi Filet and Fettuccine Alfredo. Cocktails were good, but nothing too special. Food was colorful and tasty, it came out quickly seeing that the resort wasn't jam packed like we've seen it before. Never thought I'd mention this but prices are reasonable considering its pricy exclusive Wailea. The beautiful Andaz Wailea Resort (a Hyatt collection) is perched 4 stories above sea level with tiered pools before ending on Wailea's Polo Beach and boardwalk. We had an opportunity to view their beachside suites a month back at a special event and are luxurious and spacious. And it's nice to enjoy dining during a cool Dec. sunset evening, but the sun goes down by 5:30 pm, so go a little earlier and use the valet parking.

If you like a strong coconut flavor the pandan milk punch is very coconutty. The calamansi drink is dangerous- in that it's sweet and delicious. So the best kind of danger. The cream shot was also really tasty. I'm not a huge coffee person, but will tolerate it when sweet enough. This was sweet enough, and the cinnamon foam really complimented it. I would get this again. If you want to try a place to chill and drink and eat some food try this place.

One observation I would offer is that, as a customer, it was difficult to tell who was serving tables. I noticed several employees in Pint & Cork shirts moving around the restaurant, but only saw a couple of servers actively covering the dining area. It's possible some staff were assigned to bartending or other responsibilities, but from the guest perspective it gave the impression that table service was understaffed while other employees appeared unavailable. I still think there is room for improvement in the flow and logistics on the floor, but I appreciate the owner's willingness to engage with feedback and explain the circumstances. I understand restaurants get busy, especially in a tourist area, but the issue wasn't just the wait--it was the feeling that customer service wasn't a priority. The rest of the meal was average at best and definitely not memorable enough to make up for the service issues. Between the lack of air conditioning, slow service, inattentive staff, and mediocre food, this was one of the few places in Hawaii where I genuinely regretted spending my money. Considering the location at The Shops at Wailea and the prices being charged, I expected a much higher level of hospitality and execution. Tonight we visited Tommy Bahama, a restaurant we make a point to visit at least once every time…read morewe're on the Big Island or Maui. Unfortunately, this was by far the most disappointing experience we've had. Looking back, we probably should have asked to speak with a manager while we were there, but after everything that happened, we simply felt uncomfortable and wanted to leave. I'll start with the positives because there were several. The drinks were delicious, the sea bass was excellent, and the dessert was absolutely incredible. The pasta itself was a little overcooked and soggy, but the flavor was still very good. The disappointing part of our evening was the service. After our server initially introduced herself, it took quite a while before she returned to take our drink order. When we were ready to order dinner, my husband was still deciding between a couple of menu items. Rather than giving him another moment, our server became visibly impatient and said she would come back after delivering our drinks. It ended up being more than 10 minutes before she returned. When I asked whether the entrees came with bread, her response made me feel embarrassed for even asking. Since they didn't, we ordered the biscuits as an appetizer to enjoy while waiting for our meals. Our children's meals arrived promptly, which we appreciated. However, our server never once stopped by to see if the kids needed anything. I had to flag down another server just to get ketchup. Meanwhile, our server walked past our table several times without checking on us or asking if we'd like another round of drinks--which we actually would have ordered. When our entrees arrived, the biscuits still hadn't come out. Shortly afterward, our server finally checked on us. I let her know that since our meals had already arrived, we no longer needed the biscuits and simply asked that they not be included on the bill. Her response was, "Well, they're made fresh and in the oven now. I guess I can go tell the kitchen you don't want them anymore." I replied, "They were supposed to be our appetizer, and our meals are already here now." Before I could even finish my sentence, she walked away while I was still speaking and appeared to mumble something under her breath. That interaction left my husband and me feeling shocked and disappointed. We've dined at many restaurants over the years and have never felt spoken to in that manner. We had considered asking to speak with a manager at that point, but honestly, we just wanted to finish our meal and leave without any further uncomfortable interactions. This was especially disappointing because Tommy Bahama has always been one of our favorite restaurants and a place we genuinely look forward to visiting whenever we're in Hawaii. We hope this experience was an exception rather than the standard, because the food continues to be wonderful--the service simply did not match the quality we've come to expect.

My family and I just returned from our trip to Maui we miss it already. We dined at several different restaurants while we were on island and one of them was mulligans on the blue. It was a great experience. The view from the restaurant was outstanding great atmosphere wonderful music and the staff very very friendly. We were served by a young Hawaiian gentleman named kimo. We couldn't have asked for a better waiter very knowledgable shared lots of information with us and gave us great recommendations for dinner. The restaurant is in such a great location it was just a walk from our hotel which made it nice. Our children really liked it as well and they are picky eaters. Mulligans on the blue is a place where we will definitely return on our next trip to Maui. If there is one dish that I can recommend it would be the shepherds pie absolutely wonderful. read more

I'm a local and this was my first time to Mulligans. I came with a large group, so I expected delays, however the service was far less then what I had hoped for. The attitude of our server was amazing, throughout the night. I didn't envy his job that night as the place became packed. After waiting over an hour for my order of a HALF Caesar Salad, it arrived. With a couple long hairs in it. (Definitely not mine). I returned it and left hungry. Three friends had ordered the same pasta dish, all served cold and vegetarian (ALL had ordered meat). No apologies or acknowledgements were given to anyone. The view was good, prices looked decent on many items, but for me this visit was quite unsatisfactory. Getting an evening out is a rarity and luxury for me so this first impression does not lead me to come back soon. read more

If you're looking for a chill place to have happy hour, watch the sunset, enjoy a great dinner or sit out under the stars, this is the place. Their happy hour is from 2-6 with incredible plates priced at only $8 and most drinks $5. Great value. Tonight I had the fish and chips and they had the perfect amount of batter served with steak fries. Even though they were a little busy, our waiter, Richard, gave us the utmost attention and was on top of the game, bringing us things before we even asked. I've been meaning to write this for a while. My boyfriend and I head to this bar every now and again. It's always a mediocre experience. The restaurant is filthy, food is generic and fattening, service is just ok. A few weeks ago we went to catch a game and the tall black haired bartender who walks around like he has a stick up his ass, was even more rude than usual. He literally looked like he had been up all night doing drugs. He was so out of it, red nose and eyes. He was so terrible to the servers. It was shocking. How does this loser even have a job. We have been coming to Mulligans for over ten years and always enjoy ourselves not only because of the amazing sunset views and excellent pub fare, but also the aloha spirit that is alive and well here. Many businesses have been affected by the restrictions placed on us all due to the pandemic and I know sometimes service takes a bit longer than it used to- that's true everywhere- but we have never been disappointed by any aspect of this wonderful restaurant. We stopped by here on our drive and it was all around pretty good. At first when I walked in with my sister, I asked if we can see some menus and the bartender, a brunette irish gal, didnt even look up at me. The fam sat down and she took drink orders. I asker for an ice water. She said I will get your drinks and come back to take your order. Took a long time to finally get the drinks and she forgot the ice water. Really enjoyed the corned beef mac & cheese. Also had the shepherds pie, really good. The staff were good servers. We sat outside at a table near the railings & looked out at the stars. The one & only down side which may be difficult for them to solve its the bugs. The place & tables are really clean, it's just that Maui is riddled with big ones. We had our Maui Wedding Association Christmas party. at Mulligans last night. It was a beautiful night. We sat outside on the beautiful spacious patio, under the stars. The staff was very quick and attentive and the food was great. I especially liked the seared sashimi and Kula Greens. The Mahi and roast veges were great too. They had a magic show inside and then a band. It is a very good dance floor. It is a good place for private dinners or group parties and wedding receptions. read more

Tonight I went to Mulligans for the second time in a week and had the best fish and chips I have ever had, hands down. The meal was provided by some of the kindest and most accommodating staff I have seen in a long time (Amber H. cool place, good views. when it gets busy the bartenders can get all snappy and the aisles get crammed and it's impossible to get from one side to the other. but in general a nice place to hang out and get a well poured guiness. my favorite for an after golf beer, the afternoons are mellow and you can sit in a big comfy chair and lord yourself over the bar. lot's of footie on the TV's too which is hard to find on maui. read more

Willie K was amazing!! He is a local Maui boy and really is great to watch. Music will range from his own Hawaiian style to Italian Opera to our personal favorite Bob Dylan..... Amazing!! When I just need a completely different kind of evening out, I head to Mulligan's. At night, it seems so isolated because it is on a golf course that gets very quiet at night. I love to eat the shepherd's pie and listen to the Irish music. They often have some great performers, so check out their calendar on their website. A few days later, we all came back and brought more friends. Yeah, it's just that kind of place! Every time we came in, the bouncer, wait staff, and bartenders were welcoming and totally on it. The drinks were spot on (why no pics? We were too busy drinking!) and the food hit the spot. Both karaoke KJs were welcoming, organized, and talented singers. Songs are texted in using the well placed codes about the bar. Many of my friends sang on the different nights. The sound was good, the mic/s were good, and the music choices were available. The only meh part for one friend was for one song where the music was slower and in a different key, but my vocally talented friend adjusted. No worries - it just wasn't her favorite. She still rocked it! Everyone here in the crowd was cool. People were really friendly and lots of folks who didn't know each other were chatting amongst themselves and with us. The singers that showed up ran the gamut from fun loving to full of passion all the way to "is this a professional?" Everyone in the audience was appreciative and positively responsive, with lots of high fives, fist bumps, and cheers. And really, isn't that the beauty of karaoke? Sharing and appreciating each other's bravery, talent, passion, and energy? For that, this place is must definitely THE place.

The bartenders were doing the best they could on the busy night and the crowd was very understanding. On the slower and more average nights you could tell everyone was less stressed. From some of the reviews here you'd think some people have never been in a local dive before. I came mainly for the karaoke, which runs every night. Easy system for requesting a song- just send a text with your name, artist, and title. Good crowd for karaoke too, everybody applauds, a mix of good singers and people fueled by liquid courage. Again, just what you want in a karaoke dive bar. Only bar I've ever been into that had a dB SPL meter behind the bar, too. I didn't ask for the story behind it, but I bet there is one. Terrible cell phone reception here, and I kept forgetting to ask for the WiFi password. So if you're using a ride share service, plan ahead. Glad to have a favorite karaoke spot on the island now. I'll be back!

The outdoor seating is refreshingly simple, but once you step inside, it's pure vibe. There's a thoughtful design touch to everything--from the mid-century glassware to the way each drink seems to have its own personality. They're not just slinging cocktails here; they're crafting an experience. I ordered the VOG CUTTER--Pisco, watermelon, lemon, absinthe, cubeb bitters--and it came topped with a pickled watermelon garnish. I'm usually not an absinthe fan, but this drink was perfectly balanced, bright and herbal with just enough edge. It landed squarely in the "perfect cocktail" category for me. My partner had the Velvet Elvis and was equally impressed. We both kept commenting on how varied and intentional the drinkware was--punch cups, tea glasses, you name it. It makes everything feel more special. The bartender was sharp, friendly, and clearly knew the menu inside and out--eager to help guide us through the options and talk about the thought behind each drink. At one point, a child wandered in by mistake (Esters is 21+ due to its bar zoning), and the bartender gently asked them to leave--but not before handing over a vanilla wafer as a parting gift. One of my favorite touches? The name. There's actually a thoughtful explanation printed right on the menu: "Esters are natural compounds that are created through chemical reactions during fermentation. Esters give a diverse range of aromas and flavors to rum." It's a subtle homage to the science of spirits--and it fits perfectly with the experience Esters delivers. If you're looking for a cocktail bar that hits on every level--drinks, vibe, service--Esters Fair Prospect is the move.
