This place deserves zero stars for having a poorly trained staff. My boyfriend called about a month ago to reserve a table for the Mayweather vs. McGregor fight. The man he spoke to took down his name and number for a table at 3pm. My boyfriend called around 2p today just to make sure everything was still ok since we were getting ready to leave and spoke to a woman who said that we didn't have a reservation and that they only started taking reservations with a credit card a few days ago. Had we known we needed to give them a credit card, we would have. Today is the second day of our trip and we planned today around this fight and not to have our table because a staff member obviously didn't have a clue as to how they were handling reservations is extremely upsetting . I tried calling back to speak to a manager and no one will answer the phone. My boyfriend is beyond disappointed and we will never attempt to come here again. read more

This review is for julie there event coordinator! I sadly didn't get to try this restaurant while on the island due to the coronavirus and the whole island shutting down. The night before my wedding I got a call the restaurant would be closing so I would not be able to have my reception dinner there. Julie felt so bad and made calls and helped me find a new restaurant that was not closed yet and would take my party last minute. Julie made this whole situation stress free and I could not have done it without her. TARA is Mulligans, mulligan. I came here for st party's day. It was busy, as to be expected. All the chairs were taken. However, my mom saw two chairs by the restrooms that matched all the ones in the restaurant. For some unknown reason, no one was sitting in them. So my mother grabs them and puts them against the outter wall facing the band. TARA comes up to us the second we sit down and goes "get up, no you can't sit here, give me these chairs," we haven't even spoken yet, and this is how she's talking to us. My mom and I just kind of look at each other and we ask, "may we sit over there?" As we point to a far corner where other people are sitting. She rudely doesn't even acknowledge I've spoke and says "give me these chairs. You can't sit here." So again, I ask "can we sit over there?" Still pointing at the corner. Again I am ignored. Not knowing what else to do, we stand up. Our butts are barely off the chairs and she is grabbing them as fast as she can and walks away. A little confused, we follow her thinking she may be showing us where we can sit. She wasn't. She was trying to hide the chairs behind some gaurd rails. My mom goes "that's not where we found them," and TARA says "It doesn't matter where you found them, this is where they go." This woman is at work! In the service industry! You do not speak this way to your guests! I've been a server my entire adult life. And I'm not pulling the "server card" to be a jerk. I'm doing it because she nearly ruined our whole day with her crappy attitude. And this is not the first time. We go to Mulligans a lot, usually for the Irish music played on Sunday nights. We have had her sour puss personality as our server before and she's never polite. Never pleasant. It seems like she hates her job, and clearly has lost the desire to be a happy, helpful server. Yesterday was the first time she was out right RUDE. I don't believe restaurants should suffer the poor Yelp scores for one bad employee. My mother and I love Mulligans and we will continue to go back. They have great food and for the most part, aside from TARA, great service. And it's such a fun atmosphere. That server is the reason I can not give 5 stars. I fear they knew this about her attitude but for one reason or another kept giving her chances. Every restaurant has a bad apple. read more

Used to love the place. Arrived @ 430, during happy hour. They informed us they had an event that night at 630. So we were 2 hours before the event. They reluctantly seated us. All wait staff ignored us. Finally a bar tender took our order. The Mai Tai tasted like trader Vic's premix, used to have great Mai Tais. A bartenders mother arrived, received a warm welcome by all and was promptly taken to a table. Food just okay. Used to love their corned beef, not anymore. We had to beg for togo boxes and our check. This is our bar of choice on Maui! Great happy hour every day with $3.00 local draft beers and Pupu's for $6.00! My wife and I can have the Happy Hour burger and we are good to go. The staff is great. From the hostess and servers to the sarcastic and fun bartenders. Chris and Kieran are always welcoming. Eileen the manager is very friendly and helpful. I am a bartender at a resort and I send all my customers here for a great change of scenery. Great food & drinks. Smithwicks on tap. Best place to watch sports on the island. Our first night on Maui, my boyfriend and I were looking for an easy access restaurant near our resort. Unfortunately there weren't many choices that were open at the time we landed nor many places that weren't going to break the bank on our very first night. After a little research via Yelp, we found Mulligans on the Blue. We figured a pub was a safe bet, and were delighted hear some live music playing when we walked in. The place was crowded but the atmosphere was very nice. We were seated right away and even though it was busy, our waitress was there to introduce herself and get drinks for us promptly. The drinks were good, the food was great (especially the potato leek soup), and the prices were manageable. Overall, a great experience. read more

Been going to Mulligans for years and it is a great place but lately my experience has been chaotic and disappointing. They have amazing views and the Willie K show is a must!!! However, you can not trust their reservation system -- 2 times they have failed to honor my reservation claiming I did not have one. Last reservation was made on Open Table and even though I had the printed and confirmed reservation with me, the office manager claimed the night was blocked on Open Table and she had no Idea how I got the reservation. When I told her I had also called Mulligans 2x to confirm and left messages with my email and number advising of my open table reservation, she falsely claimed she called me back and my voicemail wasn't setup (which is not true). Others have complained of same problem on OpenTable...so make sure to get a reservation confirmation in writing directly from Mulligans for all important events! read more

My wife had anticipated eating Mulligans shepherds pie for a long while. So we made reservations for Friday at 6pm. When we arrived there was no one to greet or sit us. Finally the bartender asked us if we had reservations. Yes I responded. He got hold of a waitress who seated us outside on the deck. The ambiance was nice with views of whales off of wailea beach. After we were seated it was 10 minutes before the waitress took our drink and meal order which was beer, iced tea, shrimp rolls,shepherds pie and vegan bangers. After 15 minutes we got our drinks. The shrimp roll arrived ten minutes later with no utensils or napkins At 7pm, one hour after being seated the waitress advised us that they did not have bangers and if I would like to change my order I ordered salad and asked for water,utensils, and water. Ten minutes later my wife was pretty hangry. I finally was able hail down our waitress and told her to get the bill. I got the bill immediately The waitress asked us if we wanted the shepherds pie to go. I asked her if it was ready. She went to check and told me it wasn't. We leftat 7:30 There were other patrons that came before us that hadn't received drinks or meals either. I only saw two waitresses working. What annoyed me the most was there was no apologies or remorse from anyone. Where do I begin with the awfulness of this place? I can only assume that the positive reviews came from those who visited well after dark, and were thus unable to see the BUGS, mismatched and shabby (NOT in a chic way) decor, and the FILTH. We (and our food and beverages) were bombarded with regular flies and fruit flies from the moment we entered. My husband ordered the catch of the day, which was described as a mild, flaky white fish. The fish he was served was not mild, flaky, or white. It was strong flavored, not flaky, and amber in color. The rest of the dish was forgettable. The mai tai he drank was OK. My meal, on the other hand, was not forgettable. It just wasn't. Literally. I ordered the Reuben sandwich, but I was served the Reuben quesadillas. I asked for the correct meal to be packaged to go, because by that point I was so creeped out by the bugs that I just wanted to leave. Said meal - a simple sandwich and fries, remember - was delivered about 20 minutes after my husband was completely finished eating. We asked for the manager, who ultimately agreed to provide a refund. That took another 20 minutes, and then we bolted. I never ate the Reuben, fearing the wrath of the bugs and the kitchen staff. So, one star for the mai tai - and the refund. By the way, do yourself a favor and head to The Pint and Cork a few steps away, for a good meal and great service at a comparable price, in a clean, well-kept and bug free environment. read more

Our 2 weeks in Maui was highlighted with several visits to Mulligans on the Blue. The Sunday sessions with the Celtic Tigers were amazing as was the Willie K dinner show. Add to that the great food, friendly service and the Irish pub atmosphere ... easily the best pint of Guinness I've had outside of Ireland. I highly recommend Mulligans if you're looking for something more than the stereo typical Maui bar. Five stars all the way. read more

Came here on a Friday night and it was a nice experience. I ordered the fish tacos, which were very tasty! All of our food was great however it took at least an hour to get the food ordered and served. Not to mention, my sister received her Caesar Salad 25 minutes before the rest of our party got our food. However, I did enjoy the atmosphere. Ugh where do I start? Mulligans was such a disappointment I don't even know where to begin. The lady on the phone practically hung up on me because of how loud the background was she claimed she couldn't hear me. When we got here there was one empty table it was a Friday evening so yes it was very busy. We were seated and then promptly ignored for the next 20 minutes or so until I finally got a waiter and asked if we could at least have a glass of water. It took almost half an hour to get any attention and to get our orders taken. Little did I know it would be almost 2 hours later until we finally got food. The last straw was when we got up to dance and I could see them giving our table away from across the dance floor. Infuriating to say the least! They ended up comping my meal and a free dessert but it still didn't make up or wasting over three hours of time at this place especially while we were visiting Maui. The crowd here is also on the older side. Was not really our thing. Will not be back :( read more

Food is okay. Service is good. But this review is really about Brenton Keith's magic show every Tuesday night. We brought our kids to it. They are ages 9, 6, and 3. They loved the show and so did I. His show is really funny and his tricks were downright perplexing. I'm still wondering about how he did them. My wife and I decided to try out this restaurant because of the yelp deal of $30 for $50 worth of food. We arrived around 8:30pm in July 2012 in which we were seated immediately to a table of our choosing. We had a wonderful waitress named Sonny who was very attentive to us and provided us with excellent customer service! The food was very good for the price. We started off with the spinach and crab dip was was excellent. The seasoned crunchy bread pieces that came with the dip may have been a little too crunchy but still tasted good. We shared the seafood trio which was also delicious. We finished off with the finnegan pie which was absolutely a great finishing touch to the meal. All in all we would give this place 4.5 stars and would recommend this restaurant to those in the wailea area especially if you want to save money from eating at your resort like the grand wailea resort. read more

Visited Mulligans last night to hear John Cruz...show was fun, service was slow, menu was limited (special menu for the show?) and the "award winning" ribs we ordered were tough and dry (even though they were smothered in sauce). We waited 15 minutes to be served water. Another 10 for our server to take out order. Then the food arrived and server #2 offered to bring us share plates...we never saw her again. Later server #1 came back to check on us and make sure we got what we ordered and I had to ask a 2nd time for a club soda (which was ordered at the same twe ordered our food). Ribs were served with a hell of a steak knife...not exactly fall-off-the-bone-tender. I've been a customer for over 12 years and the food doesn't compare to what it used to be. I love Mulligans! Since I was in middle school, I've been going here pretty much each and every time I've visited Maui - I'm not sure how we ever stumbled upon it, but I'm glad we did! For dinner, it's easy to get in without too much of a wait, but later on things get hopping with live music or trivia. Some of my favorite memories here are of the Barry Flanagan dinner show (where I happened to meet Mick Fleetwood, who was in attendance that evening) and hearing the Celtic Tigers play while eating shepherds pie and drinking Guinness. Great vibes here, good music, solid Irish fare. I went back last week, and I'll probably go back again next year. read more
