Had a bad experience when we went. You can tell it is under new ownership. Quite unprofessional to say the least. When we arrived we were seated quickly. Waitress came over and gave us the menu's and took our drink orders, just ice tea. Then didn't come back to take our order for 15mins and to give us our tea's. We ordered two bar drinks and ordered steak dinners. Anouther 15mins goes by and we still didn't get our bar drinks, which I thought was odd because someone was standing behind the bar and serving thier own staff in uniform beer as they watched tv. Server comes to our table, still no bar drinks, and says that they don't have any steaks. So we asked if we could have two smaller steaks(that added up to less ounces) in exchange and they checked, no go. We ordered prime rib, the special. So we asked about our bar drinks again as our tea was empty now as well and nothing for 10more mins. So we asked if there was a manager we could talk to and she came over. We said we have been here 5mins shy of an hour and have gotten 1tea for each of us, no refills and no bar drinks as your staff drinks beer and watches tv. She apologized and said we didn't have to pay for our dinners. Magically our bar drinks arrived as we stood up to leave. Maybe they can get their act together, if you get good service right away then you might luck out, if not I suggest somewhere else to dine read more

So glad that Mulligan's is open again! I have lived in Austin, TX for the past 13 years. I was sad when I heard of their closing because I have so many wonderful memories of great times there. During my last visit I made it my priority to have lunch there under the new ownership. I was not disappointed. I heard the menu was scaled back, but it really isn't that much. The selection is still excellent and you're sure to find one of your favorites on the menu. My favorite: cheese sticks and angel hair pasta with alfredo sauce. In fact, I found myself there a second time that week. The food is excellent, the service is great. I love walking through those doors because I know I'm home, back in Canton. The new owner is dedicated to a standard of excellence which extends not only to the food and customer service but to their staff. She cares and has a passion for what she is doing to keep Mulligan's the unique local restaurant it has always been: a great place for friends and families to enjoy and make memories. You can't find Mulligan's anywhere but Canton, Ohio! If you are visiting Canton and looking for local experience, Mulligan's is a must stop. read more

On Christmas Eve, Our waitress completely messed up my steak three times. On her fourth attempt, I told her to take it off our bill. She was very hesitant and didn't want to. This place use to be a gem...unfortunately it's fell by the wayside. It's a shame. read more

Have been coming to this restaurant for over 20 years.We had party of 6 it was around six pm the order was 5 liver and onions and a tuna steak sandwich the waitress was not attentive when she brought the drinks she was short one when she brought meals again my meal was about 10 minutes after all the other 5 meals. The manager had a attitude and never appologized. Oh and the waitress never ask us if we wanted dessert. The manager seemed more interested in watching the game on TV. Mulligan's is a lost art. It's a true Mom and Pop restaurant, with quality food, fair prices, and reasonable portions. It's always a delight to return to Mulligan's, as I don't live in the area anymore, and down-home quality food with real Midwestern sensibilities is hard to find anymore. Quality never goes out of style, and after eating here tonight -- my first time in four years -- I'm elated that Mulligan's retains its core values and essence. There are several reasons why Mulligan's is special in its category of bar food. Much of the food is homemade, and even when it isn't, one never gets the sense that the food was delivered by Sysco Food Service on a commissary truck (because it isn't). This is food that hits the spot. While Mulligan's has its greasy bar food favorites, these are prepared in non-assembly-line fashion, are generally not greasy, and are delicious. For instance, whether one likes the beer-battered fried mushrooms or not, these are not processed in some factory in Alabama, flash frozen, and shipped north. Rather, the mushrooms are made from fresh mushrooms, battered in-house, fried and served piping hot. They are not greasy, but grease does ooze when the moist mushrooms are cut or bitten into. The mushrooms are also enormous. Even the veggie burger -- which is just a Garden Burger patty -- are offered in about a dozen different varieties (i.e., sauteed mushrooms and onions; cajun style; cajun cheeseburger; BBQ cheeseburger; cheddar; mushroom only; reuben style, etc.). The burger -- in any of its varietals -- is only $7.99. Add an extra patty for $1. All sandwiches are served with chips, not fries, but one can upgrade for $2.69 (the last time I was there, four years ago, the upgrade was $1.79). For me, the upgrade is worth it. Mulligan's has an entire vegetarian menu, including salads, chili, pastas, burritos, Garden Burgers, and several different sandwiches. New on the menu are veggie chicken sandwiches (which I've never tried). Admittedly, the service could be better. It's hit or miss sometimes, but even in its ineptitude or laziness, it's still charming and no-nonsense. Mulligan's used to be open later, with the kitchen still serving food until at least midnight (on Sundays), 1a during the week, and 2a on Fridays and Saturdays. Those days, it seems, are evidently gone. While still serving later than almost any other restaurant in Canton (other than Denny's or Steak n Shake), the kitchen closes at 11p during the week, midnight on Fridays and Saturdays, and 10p, I believe, on Sundays. The five-star rating reflects the totality of the Mulligan's experience. Will all of the food knock your socks off? Probably not. But it won't leave you indifferent either. John's Bar, in my opinion, is overrated. Other pubs, bars, or sports bars serve processed foods mostly created in laboratories and kitchens in warehouses. At Mulligan's, it's Midwestern quality and value at its best. read more

We dined (and I use that term loosely; ate would be more appropriate) at mulligans last Saturday night. The evening began early with our party of 9 arriving at 4:45; Ahead of our 5 PM reservations. Our table was ready. That was to be the last thing that went right with our experience at mulligans! We were lead through the half full main dining room (remember- it was 4:45 in the afternoon) and seated in the back dining room where it was clear that they were expecting two other very large parties; both of which arrived and ordered well after we did. (my point being that they knew that they were going to have a large influx of people somewhere around 630 to 7 PM and should have been staffed both in the kitchen and in the front of the house to accommodate that) We placed our appetizer order and waited. And waited. And waited. Our host, my husband's uncle, suggested that when we did finally have the opportunity to place our dinner order; we probably ought to order breakfast at the same time. The food, when it did finally arrive, was mediocre at best. I had what was billed as Canton's best hamburger. God I hope not! My husband had the fillet mignon salad. 3 slices of over done meat on a nondescript house salad. Our grandchild had macaroni and cheese which was honestly Kraft straight out-of-the-box. Everyone else's meal at our table was of similar caliber. In addition to the incredibly slow service and poor quality of food; the women's restroom had only one useable toilet. (there were only two to begin with and the other was out of service!). It was as if you were in a bar on a college campus on Friday night! And I had the opportunity to visit it twice !!given the speed with which we were served our food and the fact that I was there with a four-year-old. When we eventually got to the desert course; I ordered an after dinner drink to be served with mine (which never came). I finally walked up to the bar myself to ask if the drink order had been placed. No it hadn't so I Got it myself and walked back to the table with it. Our wait staff never even noticed We finally exited the restaurant around 730. Over 2 1/2 hours to serve eight adults and one child!! What made the evening all the more unfortunate was our family's personal tragedy in that the uncle hosting the event was diagnosed two weeks previous with stage 3 cancer. All He wanted was to give his family the gift of a lovely evening out. Unfortunately this restaurant fell so far short of even the basic expectation of decent service and restroom facilities that one would expect at McDonald's. Shame on them. read more

Wish I could support a local icon since their reopening, but we were told to never come back by new owner. We have been going here 25 years. I ordered medium filet, 45 minutes and no drink refreshed whole time, well done filet, showed waitress, she returned to kitchen immediately. Owner came back with an attitude with same steak in hand to correct me? Saying it's fine, even showed me a picture on her phone she took in "better lighting". What am i to say to that? "Oh duh, ok then gee thanks for checking"?! I have ordered medium my whole life, this is well done NO pink, tough and dry. For a $30 steak it should be done right. I am over 50 and we go out a lot in canton, I have never had anyone try to "convince me". I said I will just take the bill. She told us to never come back!! Beyond rude. I was literally crying. We have spent some serious hard earned money here in past, and i have never returned a thing here before. What a horrible experience for just ok food I could probably make in my own kitchen or grill. Ridiculous portions and overly simplified outdated food. We want to support the locals. I gave her my card to pay, she brought back receipt and no card. I asked for card, she snapped and said "I gave it to you!". She didn't. Horrible and embarrassing to sit and wait way too long for it. Service very slow as well. I tipped my usual 20% minimum, because I too, have served in the past. I have had many experiences in restaurants, but I've never had an owner/manager argue with a customer. Shame. Had the black and blue cheeseburger and Killians draught. Awesome to see Killians on draught! And they serve in a unique huge glass. Burger was great! I have no complaints about the product. Everything I consumed was awesome. However...service was extremely slow. Waited 5 minutes for someone to greet me at the bar...5 minutes to get my drink...10 minutes of my menu closed sitting on the bar before someone asked if i was ready to order...then 20 minutes for a medium rare burger and fries. Stopped here with the kids on Valentine's Day mid afternoon. We are hesitant to dine out at this time and called ahead. We were told they were not busy and we could sit where we chose. We arrived and sat in the bar area well spaced by our choice. To our dismay we did not see one employee wearing a mask. My daughter and I even went to the restroom to wash our hands in a dirty restroom and another patron was in the restroom maskless. I thought when you were walking around a restaurant you needed to have a face covering on? When not actively eating or drinking? I believe the owner or manager was even seated at the bar when we were dining there maskless. Not one server or bartender had a face covering on ever. We will not be dining here again unfortunately. Reported this restaurant to the state as well with a lengthy review. Hope they look into all the reviews noting the lack of COVID protocols from previous patrons on Yelp. I am glad they are closed. I had a terrible meal on sat.Jan.20, 2018 which I didn't know was their last night. I got horribly sick eight hours after, and was sick all day Sunday. Mulligan's was very accommodating to our short-notice large group gathering. They even called in an extra server for us. The space and menu both seem very dated to me (brass fixtures and mauve linens, and lots of cottage cheese on the "light and lively" section). I was impressed with the option to swap a standard burger for locally raised bison for only $1 extra, but was disappointed with the $2.69 up-charge to swap fries for chips. read more

We said we'd seen it on Yelp; he said they've never offered lobster mac and cheese, but he checked with some other staff to be sure. They agreed; no lobster mac and cheese. It was not busy by any means but yet the bartenders and staff were standing around talking while we waited and waited for our drinks that our good waitress put in. We recently travelled to the Canton Area to see our daughter. When asked where she wanted to have lunch, she insisted on Mulligans. She had heard all the stories from 30 yrs ago about how this was our go to place while dating in college. Walking in, the three of us doubled the number of people at the restaurant, which we found strange as it was Saturday and every place we passed on our trip to Mulligans was packed. We sat down and we're treated with a server without a face mask. When she noticed we had ours on, as required by our governor, she backed up a step or two. We opened our menus to see basically the same menu from 30 years ago. We thought this was also strange as food preferences had evolved and nutritional awareness had drastically increased in the past 3 decades. We ordered salad and fish, both which were marginal at best. The cod dripped oil and was truly inedible and the salad was skimpy at best. But the reason for this review, besides the poor menu and food, was the manner in which it was delivered. The older bleach blonde server leaned way over our table to place the plates and was talking the whole time. Picture an unmasked server, talking, 18 inches from your food. After we paid our check, I asked this woman why they were not required to wear masks and she said, like it was a funny secret, that they had heard they didn't have to wear masks for health reasons. I told her I found it amazing that all three employees had health issues that prevented mask wearing and that I found that hard to believe. I explained that I have multiple health issues, asthma, Immuno-compromised, and have brain lesions but that as a surgical technologist, I had zero problems wearing a last for an entire day of surgeries. This woman had the nerve to giggle and shrug her shoulders at me, then walk away. As we got up, we noticed that the TV above our booth had FoxNews on. I guess that explains everything. I've never been so disgusted in my life. Get with the times, serve healthier food, wear your dang masks and maybe, just maybe you would have more people in your restaurant. "My Favorite Restaurant In Belden Village Area for mid-priced fare from award winning BBQ ribs to their Lobster Bisque; which is the best I've found available below Cleveland. Mulligan's interior is a one-off: full of special woodwork, stained glass, mirrors, and brass railings pulling together everything in a rich, upscale Irish pub decor. Service is usually top notch, even when they are swamped with customers, which is most every evening, and weekends most all open hrs. St. Patrick's Day offerings are well worth trying. I had their Bangers and Mash this year- very good. ... Make reservations! They have two special rooms for parties, rehearsal dinners, etc. We have used one of them for a rehearsal dinner and were treated superbly, with the owner himself showing us the room and giving us a tour and history of many of the appointments. High probability you will enjoy yourself here. Take time to appreciate the interior, walk around and check out the two side rooms. Several friends and I met for lunch recently. Most resturants have lunch specials, not this one. It is by far not the same Mulligans it used to be. Prices were a little on the high side,but we made the best of it. Our waitress was fairly good.
