Warning this is not an Irish Pub!! No Shepherds Pie or other traditional Irish dishes here. No traditional British like Bangers and Mash either! The decor is however impressive. Lots of old wood and brass. I only wish the food was the attraction. They are more of a steak and rib house than an Irish Pub. They had a Mulligans stew on the menu, but I will never know how it is, as I tried to follow their strong suite and ordered a half rack of their "Award Winning" ribs (according to their menu, competition at the Football Hall of Fame") The half rack was six bones, gnaw off the bone, not fall off the bone. To be honest the sauce was quite tasty. I can easily think of half a dozen better places for ribs. I looked over their awards in the entrance dated 1989 thru I believe 1999. I'm not sure what they've won in the last 15 years. I really wanted Shepherds pie! I won't be returning. read more

We drove specifically to Mulligans from Columbus, specifically for prime rib and French onion soup. Last year I rated them better than excellent. Disappointed in the food. We got the queen cut prime rib. Taste wasn't there and it was burnt krispy on the outside. The French onion soup came out barely warm, had to send it back. The cheese was not drippy, it all (as 1 peice) came on my spoon. You are not suppose to tear your cheese from your mouth while having a spoonful of soup, and the taste wasn't their. The sides are measured by an ice cream scoop (they use to give generous portions). Wondering if they changed cooks. This is not what we experienced last year. Under new management, food is not as good. Wife and I had their Cod dinner. A favorite of ours every year. Management made changes in the menu and changed the dinner. Shoestring fries instead of steak fries, heavily salted and tasted old. In the past fries were not salted and always fresh. The Cod was over fried in old oil. Inedible. The two star rating instead of one star is due to excellent service by our waitress. She had had the kitchen give us a fresh order of fries and free dessert. The Manhattan Cheesecake with strawberries was very good. Recommend management to look at what made Mulligans great in the past and go back to what made Mulligans one of the best places to eat in town. read more

This used to be my all time favorite place to dine, but I will never return after going twice since they changed owners. The only thing left good about this place is the ambiance. Went for a late lunch, only 3 other tables and we waited a good 45 minutes for med-rare steaks. They said the menu was the same, but I did not like how they butterflied the filet to get it to cook quicker, i only see doing that if it was well done. And it tasted like chewy sirloin. We ordered a lobster tail on the side, it was an extra 23.50!!! Everything was cold, even the fries. Our waitress did not check up on us until everyone else was finished, worst service I have had in a long time. This is always a favorite when I'm in the area. They offer large portions at incredibly fair prices. They offer a vegetarian menu if that is something for you, or someone in your party. The bar is pretty standard in terms of selection, but is reasonably priced. The standard "mug" for a beer on draught is a fishbowl! read more

Well this place has some really good food , I loved the loaded nachos soooo good and I got a burger also. The burger was not cooked like I asked but it was still good , the service was a tad slow and not the best but I agree somewhat with some of the other reviews about being slow. So went to Mulligans ordered a cheese burger simple right? Apparently not they burnt the cheese on the burger so they placed the burnt side down put fresh cheese on the top and still sent it out then the manager wanted to argue with me then the owner wanted to argue with me mind you I took two bites out of the entire burger the first bite (on the edge) tasted a bit too charred no biggy Ill deal just know I don't wanna come back, the second bite (toward center big bite of burnt cheese) I almost puked, spit it in my napkin didn't eat the fries and they are gonna try to tell me I gotta pay half atleast because I did eat some of it never in my life have I refused to pay for something but it was that bad I needed my $10 to go get food I could actually eat cause a woman was hangry. The owner was giving me nasty looks the entire time and continued to loudly talk smack when they walked away. I did get a lil excited(not yelling yet that came when the owner wanted to be a snot) talking to the manager I apologized then and there and even told her it was the kitchens fault not hers. I just I could not believe that was how they had chose to handle it so I was upset, hungry and not trying to be like that especially toward her because as I said not her fault. P.S. I feed my dog better food than the steak they gave my boyfriend whom didn't even complain (to them) about it and ate it anyway because we have a tendency of being too nice most of the time. I didn't want my bill comped just the burger (I almost puked didn't even get food on my way home cause it ruined my appetite that's hard to do) even though as I said the steak was not good but the potatoes and gravy were good I would recommend those. read more

This restaurant is deserving of 0 stars. Our ticket was "lost" our waitress never came back to our table after taking our order but the folks who were seated 40 minutes after we ordered received their appetizer within minutes of ordering. The manager hid and refused to apologize when we explained what we had experienced. Unprofessional, disorderly, and a blatantly rude staff led by a painfully cowardly man. Let down yet again by Mulligan's. Went there for dinner and had the ribeye: what a disappointment. It was too salty to even finish. The salad was pretty lacking too, just iceberg lettuce with very few toppings as I remember. To their credit the fried mushrooms were tasty, but then again how hard is it to drop something in the deep fryer? Another one of my pet peeves: don't serve beer in subzero temperature glasses. I ended up with a beer slushie. On top of the lackluster food, the service was pretty terrible. The restaurant wasn't very busy (for a Friday night) yet our waitress disappeared for long stretches of time. My husband and I love the food here. The portions are large and fresh, homemade tasting. That should be a given when going out to eat but unfortunately I have been to a lot of restaurants with uninspired menu items. The main complaint that I see from other reviewers is the loooonnggg wait time. Which is true also from our experience. It seems that the waitstaff is very overburdened so plane to wait a while for your food and drinks. We only come here when we want to have some beers and talk while we wait for our food anyways. I have gotten ribs, crab legs, salads and battered shrimp. All have been great! Nice large portions to take home leftovers for lunch the next day. Their shrimp is a must have! They are huge and the batter is not greasy or heavy... So yummy! Their mixed drinks however seem very blah, my husband ordered a Long Island ice tea and it was small and tasted like there was hardly any liquor, mostly sour mix. read more

Went there for a Retirement Party last night - not impressed. Had 2 servers for 60 + people. The retiree has to distribute the menus and the table service. Not blaming the servers - they were doing the best under the circumstances. Part started at 6:00 PM - started receiving food after 8:00 PM. Food was marginal at best. Looking at the menu looks like prices were raised considerably - let's face it this is a bar that serves food - not exactly a 5 Star establishment. We waiting 20 minutes between getting sodas and ordering. The pops bad the way were horrible, no carbination no taste, 2.49 for tasteless waterdowned pop. The hostess was the best part. My family has been coming to Mulligans for 30 years. It has always been a classy place and a cut above the rest. Mulligans was always a treat for birthdays and anniversarys.However, our last visit may be our last. There were 3 of us on a Friday night at 7:00pm and there was not a wait! FANTASTIC! This was our first visit to Mulligans since the ownership changed and everything was great! The service was prompt, pricing was good, portions were huge and the food was excellent. The ribs slid right off the bones and were just as good (if not better) than I remember. Date night is here in Canton and where do you go? The other night my wife and I settled on Mulligan's. I had had the food once or twice in carry-out but we wanted a special night. I had the bone-in ribeye and my wife had three lobster tails. Share the food and we both had surf and turf. On the steak, it was tender and seasoned perfectly. I ordered the steak fries and was served jo-jo's. These were tough and the only downside of the meal. The soft drinks were served in giant mugs, negating the normal need for multiple refills. We went to Mulligan's on a Saturday night on the 4th of July weekend. They were not busy, as most places weren't on the holiday weekend. We ordered a variety of food - burger, prime rib and tuna steak. Great menu - AWFUL food. The only thing cooked properly was the prime rib. They brought baked potatoes wrapped in foil to the table. One was rotten. We asked for a replacement, which we received after a wait, and it was not done. The rotten potato was never removed from the table. I ordered my tuna steak medium rare, and it came well done and very dry. Service was extremely slow, in spite of the fact that the restaurant wasn't busy. Very disappointed - with the great menu, I thought we had found a place for many dinners to come - NOT ME. I won't be back. read more

My wife and I hadn't been to Mulligans in awhile and decided to go there tonight. Big mistake!!! We walked in at 6:30 on a Saturday night and got seated right away which is unheard of in the Belden Village restaurants. We waited for 10 minutes to get our water then placed our order. 50 minutes later our food showed up. My bacon cheeseburger was very bland and the fries were half cooked. Several customers were as frustrated as we were at the poor service and poor quality of food. Needless to say we wont be back. read more

6/23/16 Went into this restaurant yesterday, just my husband and I. We went in at 4:15. There were about 4 or 5 customers strewn about in the restaurant. There wasnt a hostess when you first walked in so we assumed it was seat yourself. Well, then a small young girl comes over and says that she is sorry and that she just got there. Nobody brought us a menu (I had to go get our own). Waited around looking at the menu and then we waited hoping to at least get a drink....NOTHING! 20 minutes of nothing!!! Waitresses and a waiter and a bartender all there taking there time (even had one waitress behind us clearing off a table! Nobody bothered - it was as if we had been shunned). Mulligan's rawks. The rehearsal dinner portion of the wedding took place here. It's a nice bar/restaurant decorated in heavy wood tones and stained glass. For the dinner, we ate in an elegant private room replete with a fireplace. It reminded me a lot of a state room in the Titanic, dark and rich in color. I enjoyed tasty martinis and a mandatory black and tan as my beverages. For dinner, I had an awesome filet mignon. I happily indulged myself in its meaty goodness despite wearing a bridesmaid dress the next day. I had a wonderfully delicious, juicy, perfectly cooked steak. I especially enjoyed the salty topping as I bite into each and every morsel. The accompanying baked potato served hot and piping was another treat. With the baked potato and steak, I could barely eat the incredibly large, perfectly fried onion ring. It was a dream onion ring because just one perfectly complimented the filet mignon and baked potato. My Mulligan's meal is so memorable and awesome. My bf enjoyed his chicken and ribs as well. Throughout the meal, he gave me that happy rib smile. When back in Canton, I want to go here and indulge a meat craving. read more

My boyfriend and I stopped in on our way back to Cleveland from the Pro Football Hall of Fame. As we walked in, I was skeptical. The heavy wood doors, the cracked and broken stained glass, and the decor inside the restaurant seemed SO dated. I immediately felt like I had stepped back in time to the 80s. However, we were pretty hungry so decided to give it a try. The menu was ODD. Like, really odd. One of the items was a crab salad. I feel like that is not something you see often. My boyfriend ended up ordering a grilled BBQ chicken sandwich and I played it safe with a veggie burger. His sandwich was fine. My veggie burger was, as expected, a frozen hockey puck. Both meals came with a side of Ruffles chips, which seems strange given the weirdly high price tag. Frankly, if a restaurant can't serve your meal with fries without an upcharge, there is something wrong. And last but not least, we both stuck with plain water. To me, it tasted musty, and I could barely choke down a sip, despite being pretty thirsty. All of these things combined gave me the impression that this restaurant is on it's last legs or at the very least is struggling. It sort of struck me as the kind of place you would have gone to for a fancy meal in like, 1987. I doubt we will be in the situation to ever come back to this place, which is fine because if I lived in the area, this certainly wouldn't be anywhere I'd bother with again.
