I was told by good close sources that this place was really nice, the nicest place in the area and we were excited to go. It was my daughters birthday and she wanted steak and grilled shrimp , waitress comes back and said there are no grilled shrimp. A little disappointed but took the fried shrimp in place of it. 5 of us ordered tea. 3 half and half and 2 unsweet. The waitress brought our tea then said you will have to drink something else bc now there is no more unsweet tea. Meaning there would be no more made. This was around 6pm , not closing time. Then we asked about their signature branded rolls that were supposed to have been brought out first to the table. The waitress said no rolls, we tried to make them and they didn't turn out. No offer or attempt to fix the situation like any other good restaurant would have done. Then the steak brought out was not med rare but done, and so tough and full of gristle you couldn't eat it. Also we ordered 2 ribeyes and recieved one ribeye and one strip steak. and My Alfredo was cold. 101.00 dollar ticket and that's that's service we got. Very Disappointed! DO NOT ORDER THE CRAB NACHOS! Other than the appetizer my experience was very good. The night that I dined in was karaoke night and there were good performances and friendly staff and guests. They are trying to portray a more upscale vibe which I think they do well. I would give a higher rating if not for my experience with the nachos. NOT GOOD. read more

Had a great meal while visiting my Aunt. The waitress was new and did a most fantastic job making sure everything was just right! We will be back! Maybe even today! The bread, amazing! Best place in town. Pretty basic menu but the food that they do offer is delicious and always high-quality. My favorite is the veggie burger (sounds gross, I'm a meat eater, but it's delicious). The beer on tap is great for those who enjoy craft beer with a basic selection of the typical domestic beers. The cocktails are great, very classic with a contemporary twist. Beautiful decor and non-smoking inside which is a plus. The patio is great and I look forward to visiting more this summer. read more

Visited on a Saturday. Arrived at 1230 with a party of 10. Everything we tried to order, we were told that we couldnt have because they didnt serve dinner until 4pm. Now, that would have been fine had we been told in advance that only the items on the lunch menu were available. The waitress came back 3 or 4 times to tell us what we ordered wasnt available. When we arrived they were not really that busy. People started to file in after we got there. After finally getting our orders in....we had to ask repeatly for the lemons for tea and water. We had to ask for straws, napkins, and silverware. We waited an hour for our food to arrive. Once it got there, chips came with meals that we had ordered fries with, my son's pulled pork was flavorless. The fries were cold and soggy. The burgers were decent but both had mayo and we had asked for no mayo. For a table of 10, we were given a bottle of ketchup that had maybe 2 tablespoons worth left. The mustard was even worse. A lady (I'm assuming the GM) came out to ask how everything was and I voiced our concerns. She apologized but no compensation was offered. We never got one order of our fries. We had gone here to celebrate my niece's high school graduation. One would think that the owner/manager would antipicate large crowds that would include out of town guests that wanted something better than fast food and orepare or offer specials for the day. Even if it meant opening the grill for steaks, shrimp, whatever. Positives: beautiful building. Nice location. Very doubtful that we will be back. read more

Stopped to eat lunch and very happy with the service and food. They have done a great job of decorating and creating a warm atmosphere. I had the chicken salad sandwich and was excellent. They even branded the top of the bun. The outside area was being set up for a bridal shower and looked nice as well. Do yourself a favor and try this place. read more

In a land of processed and prepackaged food , I was amazed that the delicious burger came on a home baked bun,,, that was a first. Great decor, awesome service and fine fare! The service was slow, the food tasted like it had been frozen and sitting at the bottom of a freezer for half a year before it was heated (only to Luke warm) before serving. Despite being one of two tables occupied in the whole place, we waited 35 minutes for chicken, a burger and a kids meal. The "side vegetable" was grey and congealed and may have at one point been carrots and broccoli but it was hard to be sure. The hand cut fries had promise, but were cooked to limp-noodle-texture and soaked through with oil. Yuck. read more

The atmosphere was great but for a Saturday evening the traffic was very light. the entire dining area where we were served had only one other party of two. The waitress (Sumer) was fantastic although new. I ordered prime rib w/bake, no toppings and salad w/balsamic and olive oil. my guest ordered 8 0z filet w/shrimp. The filet was ordered med rare and arrived well done but was more like a pounded 4 oz. It was promptly replaced. The shrimp were served with shells which didn't quite compliment a filet mignon. I would not revisit this establishment mainly because I requested an audience with the chef/owner/manager and was told that they were too busy in the kitchen. The next day I had severe stomach cramps and am on the third day of bowel distress. My guest is fine, therefore I assume the prime rib was ,as stated by the waitress, leftover from previous, day or days and not properly stored . If not for the dining room staff and the ambiance I would have rated this establishment lower. Even though this establishment is touted as the best in town it's most likely because there is no competition. I reside in Northern Virginia and this place would never exist there. Finally, the prices are extreme for the locale and there should be a food manager on duty at all times. read more

Ordered Today's Special - blackened steak salad for $11.99 It said it was the house salad with blackened steak. I asked for the salad to be on Romaine lettuce instead of spring mix and no onions. 25 minutes later I received the steak salad on iceberg. Maybe they thought I wouldn't know the difference? There were no cucumbers in the salad but it had onions and maybe two cherry tomatoes chopped very fine . I even switched salads with a co-worker because he said his didn't have onions. It did... I only have an hour for lunch so I didn't send it back. The long wait for food is chronic. I've eaten there 4 times and have waited quite awhile for the food every single time. It wasn't worth the $18 with tip that I paid for lunch today. I wish them well because I think they will need it. Disappointing because Moorefield needs more good restaurants read more

The service was so bad. We brought friends from out of town, hoping to give them a nice night, but it wasn't. We couldn't get drink refills, our appetizers (shrimp had far too much old bay and onion petals tasted like old grease) came after our meals because Faith "forgot" to put in the order. Steak was overcooked, corn was cold and overcooked, pork chops were bland. Penne alfredo was good. Might be our last trip. Guess it's back to O'Neill's. read more

Absolutely disappointed! I was expecting a decent meal with good food and enjoyable atmosphere. I travelled over 2 hours to take my father and step mother out for Christmas dinner. The atmosphere was fantastic...the greeting staff fantastic...our waiter...well...you decide...We weren't given the specials, when we were ordering my step mom asked what other sides and the waiter said just order the fries (literally), my husband asked for a steak medium and what we got was a well done steak with actual char on the outside and zero pink on the inside. When I mentioned it to the waiter, my husband showed it to him and he said..."are you going to be okay with that or do we need to send it back?" Seriously??? Of course we aren't going to send it back after that comment...who knows what will end up on the steak when we get it back. I still held out faith that he would make it right...even after the very expensive cold appetizer that broke into a million pieces when we were trying to get it off the plate (Crab Nachos) because the cheese that was over them was cold. But no...I paid full price! What a horrible and disappointing, not to mention expensive experience. I will NOT ever return and...I will make sure that I never recommend this place read more

My wife and I had a quick lunch at Mullins on a Sunday afternoon in October 2017. The food was good, but not amazing. Same with the service. Prices were reasonable. Food was on par with average sit-down chain restaurants. The ambience is well-maintained rustic. They seemed to have a regualr clientele. Mostly older, well-behaved folks. The town of Moorefield impresses me as sort of a hard times locale. There is a museum upstairs. The museum was closed on the Sunday afternoon of my visit. The restaurant was scheduled to close for a private wedding party at 4:00 p.m., but we had no trouble getting fed at 2:30. Mullins impresses me as a cultural a high point, and definitely one of the nicer - if not the nicest - restaurants in Moorefield. I would eat there again. read more
