    Beyti

A little diner that turned out to be Turkish cuisine, family owned. Didn't know what to order, so upon the staff recommendation we had Beyti, chicken kebab, chicken wrap, and baklava. To our surprise, it was very filling and delicious. The home made chili sauce was awesome!!! The place is clean and service was great. I would give you guys a 4.8 score. If you are ever in the area, I highly recommend it. Also there is parking on the side... Thank you so much for a very nice lunch.

Came here on a late Sunday evening, surprised it was Still open despite arriving around 9:45/10pm. The waitress lead us to our seats and was very courteous. We got the the muma feast, and that thing can feed a group of 4. If you like Turkish food or Mediterranean food then this spot is for you Only downside is they served in foil tray as compared to like a large plate/platter as I recall 5years ago when I came here. The Turkish coffee came in a regular cup (not even a coffee cup but water cup with a sleeve), would recommend getting coffee cups as it keeps the heat inside and not making it difficult to hold for customer. Other than that good halal Turkish food in good part of La

Had dinner last night here with my cousin, The place was empty .We asked the old man who was there if they are opened and he said yes so we sat in . He was rude to us and ignorant . We made our order and respectfully left our table to another group of older clients who stepped in ( one of them was using a walking stick ) as the table next to us was full of playing cards and other tables were way far in the front section for them to walk .we didn't wanted them to stand and wait until he clears the table . The food came in -to go - paper plates and with a plastic forks inside a plastic bags ! But why? We were dining in ! Food was average ( and salty ) . Baklava looked good in the tray so I decided to try it , Very disappointing the top was hard but the bottom layers were SUPER mushy , chewy and drowned in syrup.. When I checked in I've received a Yelp voucher for a free Turkish tea but the man said they don't have tea lol ! No one has visited our table after that . We waited to then went ourselves to the cashier to pay and the man behind the counter had a problem with his system. We waited for sometime then offered him to pay in cash , he said ok but didn't had a change for our $100. My cousin went out and tried to break it with no results. Non of his neighbors wanted to help . After almost an hour .. his son finally has shown up and was able to charge our card and we left! They didn't even said any kind word to us after all , on the contrary they had a weird attitude. Going there again? Hmmm Nah the area is full of a better options !

Friends in from out of town, and one was from Turkey. He suggested this place. DO NOT make my initial mistake of seeing the cracked plastic of the menu pages, the very small size of the interior, or all the empty cooler cases, and thinking you'd be better off anywhere else. Seems they mostly do take-out. The food is plentiful and very delicious!! Everything is made fresh. Started with dolmas and some hummus/pita for the table. The dolmas was wonderfully moist - not dry. Hummus was excellent. I then had the lamb skewer - served on a bed of rice with a nice little side salad. All in a plastic to-go container. I'm not taking off points for any lack of presentation - you don't even notice it once you start eating. After that, even though we were all stuffed, we had to have the baklava. We had to wait a few minutes since a new batch was being made fresh. I learned that Turkish baklava generally used pistachios and had a sweet syrup (sugar water?) drizzled all over it, while the Greek version often used walnuts and was made with honey. This was definitely Turkish - perfectly flakey crust, warm from the oven, sweet and gooey. And a huge piece for each of us! The husband and wife running the place could not be more kind. They obviously love what they do. And my Turkish friend had a great time speaking to the husband in their native language. Ignore the divey atmosphere - this is perfect for foodies!

Since I eat this food at home, I don't eat Mediterranean food from restaurants very often. As a result, a restaurant has to look pretty good in order for me to try it. Muma Kitchen definitely had that appeal, so I chose to meet a friend here for dinner. They have a little parking lot in the back with spots specifically for their customers, so parking was very easy. I ordered at the table they set up by the door and then had a seat outside. Our food came out pretty soon after. I went with the Veggie Plate since I wasn't feeling super hungry. Everything on it was delicious. My favorite part was definitely the eggplant dip. The woman working was so friendly and came to check on us very often. I will definitely be back!

I consider myself a kind and generous yelper, but I have to be honest and admit that I wasn't feeling this meal at all. And I was pretty hungry by time the meal was delivered so to be underwhelmed in a vicious state of hunger really says something coming from me. Anyways I ordered delivery via Grubhub so I can't comment about the service or condition of the restaurant itself. All of my feedback is based purely on the meal itself. I ordered the salmon kabob plate and the hummus. The salad was lightly dressed in an oil based something or other and wasn't bad but was definitely soggy. If I'd known they dressed the salad before serving it, I would have specified to leave the dressing on the side. The greens lost any crispness they may have had. Once the salad was cleared from the plate, I dug into the salmon. Again- not bad but not quite enjoyable. It was border-lining on dry and was under seasoned for sure. To keep my salmon company, I decided to get a side of hummus. The hummus was on par with everything else so far... fine. It was underwhelming. It was runny and the seasoning used wasn't my favorite blend. But what really bugged me about the side of hummus was the ONE sorry pita that they sent with it. Like, the hummus portion was quite generous which is nice. But ONE pita?! For like 8 ounces of hummus?! Every other Mediterranean restaurant practically sends ya a Halloween pillowcase portion of the stuff. It's the equivalent of Olive Garden bread sticks. Come on! I find a lot of fault with that. Unforgivable. Finally, I'd be remiss if I didn't share the one redeeming quality this meal had to offer. The rice. It was honestly the best portion of rice I've ever had. The flavor was spot on and the addition of the beans was a nice and unexpected touch. I practically made a meal out of the rice since everything else was meh. If I could order several portions of just the rice, I would. Unfortunately though, I don't see myself making future orders or pit stops here. A side dish, no matter how good, doesn't warrant another order.

The portion size alone is impressive. The container is packed and feels substantial the moment you pick it up. The base is a bed of fries, and these are not just filler. They are thick, well seasoned, and sturdy enough to handle all the toppings without turning into a soggy mess. On top of the fries is a generous amount of chicken. The chicken tastes freshly cooked, with that warm, savory flavor you expect from good shawarma, never dry and never overly salty. There are pita chips mixed in, which add a great crunch and texture against the fries and chicken. Multiple sauces are drizzled throughout the dish. I chose a side of their spicy sauce. The creamy white sauce balances things out, while the orange sauce brings a mild heat and a little extra depth. None of the sauces overpower the dish, they work together to coat everything evenly and keep every bite flavorful. Diced tomatoes and corn adds a touch of sweetness that surprisingly works really well here. A sprinkle of herbs throughout helps brighten everything up and keeps the dish from feeling too heavy, even though it is definitely filling. This is comfort food done right. It is messy in the best way, packed with flavor, at least to me it was. If you are looking for something hearty, satisfying, and consistently well made, I will always recommend Anwar's Kitchen. Anwar's Kitchen delivers quality food, and I will keep ordering from them.

It was also annoying for the waitress (not the gal that served us btw - a host perhaps) to give the vibe like they were doing us a favor by applying the $50 Birthday promo that THEY send via email (note, I verbally this flagged when we arrived just in case - but they didn't initially have it on our bill). My head is thinking "calm down--we ate minimally and got drinks. Don't offer it if you're going to have an attitude about adjusting the bill". It was just weird. They also didn't offer any bday dessert treat but we weren't super pressed bc we were so full. The meat was a bit overdone and all kind of tasted the same this visit. Didn't get to try the lamb chops and a few other meats, but still has a nice variety. Salad bar is top notch and consistent, although wish their black beans were plain due to all the meat. Drinks were ok--heavy pours but lower quality wine. The $29 "Wine Experience" package was worth it for my husband who likes variety of wines with his dinner depending on what he's eating. I'm sure I'll come again but it's been bumped a few notches on my Go To list.

It's best to make a reservation in advance if you plan to dine here as they are almost always fully at capacity. They have both indoor and outdoor dining. If the weather is not too hot, I recommend sitting outside. Our mistake was choosing the indoors because it gets awfully loud to the point where you can't even hear the server(s) or your own party speak. Truth be told that's the major factor in the minus 1 star as it negatively affected our overall dining experience. 1. Farm Cheese Spread (5/5) The farm cheese was super light and airy. It's seasoned with sumac/fig leaf za'atar, rose petal (mostly for decor than taste) and fresh rosemary. It's served with 2 slices of crispy edged, doughy centered, black sesame bread that's toasted to perfection. 2. Baba Ghanoush (5/5) This is a dip dish made of smoked eggplant, Jimmy Nardello peppers (adds sweetness and smoky flavor), fennel escabeche, dill and olive oil. It's served with sites of fried pita bread. The eggplant was perfectly savory from the grilled onions and non-spicy, smoky flavor of the peppers. The Pita bread is like a fried beignet donut in terms of flavor. Another enjoyable appetizer to share. 3. Oyster Mushroom Kebab (5/5) Amazing smokey, well-charred and juicy mushroom with a nice price tag attached to it, but still worth to enjoy. It's served with avocado-lovage puree and sumac, which paired well with the mushroom flavor. 4. Grilled Octopus (5/5): The octopus tentacles were cooked to perfection - soft & melts in your mouth. It's almost like eating a very soft rice cake with a hint of seafood flavor note. It's served with sides of skordalia potato puree, brocooli, lamb xo sauce and coated in dill to give it a slightly spicy and savory profile. 5. Slow-Roasted Lamb Neck Shawarma (4.5/5) Super tender lamb meat that's also very fatty. It's served with a side of basil-cilantro like sauce, pickled vegetables and tahini sauce which was super creamy and helped to cut the gaminess of the lamb. The dish also comes with a full size laffa bread, which was fresh (made in-house; you can literally see them making it in the background) and pillowy-soft to wrap the lamb meat in. 6. Cherry Sumac & Ricotta cheese pastry (4/5) We ended with a crispy Cherry jam tart. The puff pastry was flaky puff while the cherry jam was tart and sweet. It paired well with their ricotta cheese, which was light and airy and sprinkled with sumac. It also comes with a scoop of Pistachio ice cream that's subtly nutty and floral but was a bit too sweet for our liking. Overall, the food here was good, but the dining environment was too loud for our liking. This place is often compared to Bestia, which we prefer. Fun fact - Bavel and Bestia are owned by the same owners.

Service was great. The bartender and server were both super knowledgeable and helped guide us through everything, which made a big difference with a menu like this. The ambience is beautiful. Big bar in the back, great lighting, a mix of natural and more moody tones that make it feel elevated but still comfortable. For mains, the pot pies are a must. We tried the biryani and the butter chicken versions, completely different but both worth it. Portions are huge, you will have leftovers. The quesadilla with fajita peppers and tandoori chicken was such a cool fusion idea and worked really well. The boneless truffle chicken had this creamy, almost alfredo style sauce with Indian spices that made it super unique. Ended with the saffron noodle pistachio ice cream dessert and that was unlike anything I've had before. Definitely something you try at least once. This is one of those spots where everything feels creative and intentional. I'll definitely be back.
