I had intended to stop by the Poke place next door, but saw the name and decided to give it a try. The buffet had a good variety, and everything I had was super tasty! The chutneys were spot on and the butter chicken was really flavorful. The atmosphere was nice and they were very attentive. But I was not impressed with the food. I love Biryani but this was really too overly spiced (Even for regular spice request), compared to what I'm normally use to. I also ordered the Chicken Tikka Masala. The Chicken was dry and the sauce was a little bland. Some of the spices from the biryani needed to be added to the Marsala sauce. I went there at lunch time and they was serving from the buffet, which I am not a fan of so therefore ordered from the menu instead, but I think my Chicken Tikka Marsala was taken from the buffet...maybe that's why the chicken was so tough and dry? read more

Visited on a Sunday evening for dinner. The restaurant was quiet, but not empty. I like the aesthetic of the restaurant. Reminded me of the ones I would frequent on the east coast. Our server was very friendly and quick to attend to us. We got the buffet. Everything I tried was so delicious and seasoned well. The naan was soft and fluffy, the chicken Tikka masala was creamy and flavorful, and the goat curry was absolutely divine! I also enjoyed their desserts. It was the perfect way to end my meal. The prices are extremely fair - $12 for the buffet is a great deal! Everything we've had so far were delicious with great flavors! My go to has been biryani- very generous portions! Recently I ventured out and tried the chicken tikka palakwala, which is basically saagwala but with the tandoor chicken. It is legit the best of both worlds for me!! I love the tandoor flavors but also love a good sauce and this dish combined the two for me! I also will say for the amount of food you receive, prices are very fair. I finally decided to give Mumtaz a try since its only about 5 minutes away from work. I stopped by during their lunch buffet on a Friday and was told the buffet was $9.95. I figured not too bad since most of the entrees cost more just by themselves. The buffet wasn't as big as I had expected but it was still decent. My favorite dishes were: Chicken Biryani, Curry Goat and Chicken Tikka Masala with rice of course. I tasted a few other items that were new to my palate but ended up sticking to what I was used to. I came by for their lunch buffet. Service was fast and I was quickly seated. While there was only one row of buffet options, trying a bit of everything was enough food to basically fill me up. There was naan, rice, multiple curries, biryani, chicken, two types of soup, and two types of dessert. Wow! You have to try this place! Every single dish on the lunch buffet is delicious. Just a notch better than every other Indian buffet. The space for the buffet seemed so small. Yet the variety and selection were awesome. Chicken Vindaloo was great. The Cabbage Gobhi was unbelievable with corn, peas, carrots I think, and a wonderful sauce I've never eaten. Yup, it's good! Best bang for the buck still. It's not as spicy as some of the other indian restaurants, and for the price within my driving range, hard to beat. It's nice to have a place that I can count on now for a great price, and a good buffet. While I can't say its my favorite of all time, I can say its my new favorite within my immediate area. I've been here a couple time now, and I can say that the inside was clean both times, and the service was consistently attentive, and helpful. The menu hasn't changed much, but I did see two different things that I hadn't seen before, so they do add different options to the buffet for lunch. I haven't came for dinner yet, so I can't comment on that. The lunch buffet isn't huge but it has everything that you'll crave at an incredible price (9 bucks). Most of their dishes were chicken, but they were all tender, drowning in their respected curries and sauces. The goat in the goat biryani for me was a little tough, but I still kept eating it like it was going out of style. The gulab jamun (ultra-sweet dessert spongey, ball thing) is my favorite thing ever. I'm not sure who, other than Chuck Norris of course, can eat more than one without killing over. I'll crave it and then eat a little bite and then remember that I don't want diabettus.
