The food here is simply amazing. Before you go, you should know that it is strictly vegetarian. So your biryani options include mushroom, paneer, or vegetable. We ordered the mushroom biryani and it was very good. The Gobi Manchurian was the best we've ever had. Crispy and flavorful with just the right kick. The dosa I had was the Milagaipodi Masala Dosa. It was huge and only $11.99. The garlic naan was thin, crispy and delicious. This is our favorite Indian restaurant and you can't beat the prices anywhere. I've been to several Saravanaa Bhavan locations, and the food has never disappointed. I went on a weekday during brunch and got seated instantly since it wasn't crowded, but it was really hot inside. They need to improve the AC, especially with Texas heat and active kitchen space. Weekends get super busy with long wait times. We ordered filter coffee, medu vada, and different dosas and all of them were delicious. They also offer a weekend special menu with healthy millet options and a unique pistachio millet dessert. When it comes to service, I usually don't expect much from busy South Indian restaurants, but the server here was genuinely kind and attentive. Used to go out to the Irving location to get a good Dosa and Channa Batura so I was ecstatic to see this spot open up 15 minutes from where I live. I was blown away with how good everything was and the they do not mess around with the portion sizes. Their prices are very affordable for what you are given. The interior is very clean as well as their hand washing station. The food is very authentic, probably one of the most authentic I've had out. I have passed this place a bunch but finally came in to try it for lunch. There were a bunch of indian folks there which is always a good sign. The menu is massive and a bit overwhelming but i ended up getting the saravan special meal. It was fun to try a bunch of different things. I had no clue what anything was but i enjoyed it! I love getting to try a bunch of different things so it was perfect. Would be fun to know more of what i was eating. Some sauces and dips were mixed in and i didnt really know what was what. I will definitely have to come back and try more things but a simpler menu would be nice. read more

We have been coming to this Saravana Bhavan since we moved nearby, and this restaurant is very much better than the Irving branch in both service and food. Veg option only. If you are not desi, well do not except the people in restaurant to guide you at all. Mostly all pure vegetarian restaurants don't guide you at all. You come in order eat and have a good time there. If you need someone to hold your hand go somewhere. Or do your research at home. We've been watching the restaurant have a steady stream of people coming/going since it opened near us a few months ago and we finally had a chance to check it out. We're not well versed in Indian food (especially the vegetarian dishes) so we were hoping we'd have some help to guide us. We found the menu to be rather large so it was a bit overwhelming given our lack of experience. In fairness, we didn't ask our server for assistance, however, she didn't offer up help when we were struggling with her questions on the options we wanted with the dishes we selected and it was hard to understand her. We needed to ask for more water as she didn't come by and check on us with a regular frequency as the restaurant filled up. As for the food, we enjoyed what we tried. I went with the Palak Paneer which was described as a cottage cheese in a spinach paste. The cottage cheese was more along of the consistency of feta and it was delicious. It came with a side of naan bread to enjoy it with and really made for a great dish. My husband went with the Saravana Special Meal (we weren't clear which version we ordered - the poori or chappathi). It was fun to take the bread and dip it in to each of the small bowls of sauces/items as we didn't have familiarity in what they could be. There were some we liked more than others. The ambiance of the restaurant is open and cheery. We figure we'll return after doing some research on the traditional dishes and/or find a friend who has greater experience to join us! read more

I haven't been to a Saravanaa Bhavan in years but stopped by for lunch with my team at work. I ordered an onion masala dosa and all of our food came within ten minutes. The dosa came with four chutneys and some sambar. There was made out of I believe ginger that I didn't enjoy at all- it was too overpowering for my taste. I loved the remaining three chutneys, especially the coconut one. The dosa was flaky and crispy and they didn't skimp out on the tasty masala which was flavorful and not too spicy. The ambiance was pretty decent, nothing special but clean. You are getting a good value for money, this place is cheaper compared to other restaurants in the area and a good option for vegans/vegetarians. I will say, it took a long time for us to get our check. They collected our plates, got us to go boxes, and even a survey to fill out- but we waited fifteen minutes for the check and eventfully had to call someone else over for it since our server was nowhere to be found. Ordered a mysore masala dosa and chana bhatura! The chana bhatura was really good, and the masala dosa was great as well. Some of the chutneys could have been better. Horrible experience. We had five people Ready to order along with two young children who have severe food allergies. We brought separate food for them to have because they could not have anything from the menu. The server and manager both refused to allow us to give our children their own food even though all Five adults would be ordering from the restaurant menu. This is pure and simple discrimination. Our children have a disability and cannot eat a lot of food from outside establishments. The management was extremely unwilling to listen or compromise. Our children were upset and confused at why we were being turned away. In all the years we've dealt with their food allergies we have never experienced this before. Every other restaurant has always been understanding and accepting of the situation. Extremely disappointed and frustrated by this complete lack of compassion and outright discrimination. read more
