    Regular gyros with feta- huge!
    Jodi G.

Are you looking for the best gyro in North Colorado? Well, don't look any further. The gyros here are bangin'! If my partner loves 'em, I promise they are fire. The regular gyro is a meal alone. No sides needed. This is a flavorful messy a$$ gyro you want to roll your sleeves up for. Make sure you add feta - they are very generous! This looks like a family owned business which we love to support. The staff were very nice - thank you! We can't wait to go back and try some other menu items. I kid you not, it will be hard to stray from the traditional gyro though. Time for the gyro to be made was a little long but worth the wait.

Really friendly staff and outstanding food. The falafel was some of the best! I really wanted to try a bit of everything. Around our table we had the traditional gyro and a hummus wrap as well. Really, some of the best med food out there! (I believe they're only open for lunch.)

    Their dolmas are delicious!!

I kept passing this place and finally decided to try them. They have delicious vegetarian dolmas! The dolmas (which are vegan) are easily my favorite item on their menu. I also ordered a pita combo. The fries were just ok... They're just salted; there's no special seasoning to make them stand out. The falafel pita with tahini was good though. The staff was very nice, welcoming, and friendly.

Had a delicious lunch today here! I've tried falafel pitas around the country and this is a top three! The falafel balls were homemade, with a nutty taste and a selection of spices. It was served with tomato's, lettuce, and tahini sauce. The pita bread was the second best part, it was fluffy and very thick, very tasty. I also got some fries, which were fairly plain compared to the rest. Some restaurants like to feature a "Greek Fries" which is just fires with goat cheese and tahini sauce all over them. Overall, a great place for a bite. The place is clean and located off the road, in a large business building. The staff was friendly and the menu was large.

Had been wanting to check Mumtaz out for a long time. Stopped by for lunch recently and got my grub on. When you enter, big menus are posted on the wall by the door. This is a super casual place with a Subway Sandwich Shop vibe (a small, pretty basic dining area). You order and pay at the counter and then seat yourself and they bring your food out to you when it's ready. Food is served on disposable plates or in plastic baskets depending on what you order and the utensils and cups are disposable (plastic) as well. They use styrofoam for to go items. Seeing the food served with disposable plastic and styrofoam plates, cups and utensils was disappointing when we are facing such a monumental environmental crisis with so much garbage and single use plastic/styrofoam contaminating and destroying our land and oceans and the inhabitants of both. Service was very friendly and we were greeted immediately upon entering. Hubby and my son each had a Falafel Sandwich with French Fries and I had the Mezza Sampler which is vegetarian and included Hummus, Babaganoush, 2 Dolmas, 2 Falafel, 2 Spanakopita, 2 Cheese Sambusek, Tahini Sauce, Cucumber Sauce, Olives and Pita Bread. The food came out pretty quickly. Both hubby and my son said their Falafel Sandwiches and Fries were fresh and hot and tasted good and that they felt that the sandwich size was good. The Mezza Sampler is certainly a generous portion of food (I couldn't eat it all so shared it with the table) but it did not match the picture from the menu. The menu showed the Mezza Sampler including 4 Falafel and 4 Cheese Sambusek but my plate had 2 of each. The menu picures/details and the food served should match. Everything was pretty good except the pita bread that seemed stale so that took my rating down a star for that because that made the entire meal less enjoyable, especially the hummus and Babaganoush. The hummus and Babaganoush tasted pretty good but seemed to be missing something - would have been better with more seasoning. We thought the prices were a little high. Overall it was an okay experience and we left full. We agreed that we would definitely grab a bite to eat here again if in the area. Hopefully next time the Pita will be fresh and it would be amazing to see them using ecofriendly serving ware and takeout packaging the next time we visit!

Authentic, delicious, nothing pretentious about this place and the the food was quick! Loved the service and had a great time tasting everything. A must go if you are in The area. I had a Lebanese home chef try it too and she said she almost cried it was good.

2.5 We've passed Mumtaz many times but never thought to go since the store front isn't facing the street and the building it's in looks like a business building. We finally made our way towards the other side of the building to see if they were around the way and...HOTDOG!! It's a nice and casual eatery with friendly staff members that are happy to inform their customers of the cuisine. Bright and clean with a mural and a tiny private room that you can seclude yourself in while you eat. The bathrooms are also clean but I'm not sure if they are shared with the other building tenants or solely for Mumtaz patrons. They have some pictures on the wall of their food for you to drool over. The menu is also posted right next to the register for your viewing pleasure. I decided to order a gyro wrap plate, 5 falafels a la carte, gyro plate, 2 extra sauces, and a pita side. SO, why only 2.5 stars?? Well, that's because the food and prices weren't to my liking. Don't get me wrong, it'll do for a quick and local Mediterranean fix but I personally have tasted far superior flavors. For starters, I'm not sure if I like the thick slices of gyro in comparison to the widely accepted thinly sliced variety that is served pretty much everywhere else. I'm a huge falafel fan and these were not good. I'm not into the super blended batter since it gives them a dense texture. It doesn't say that they add cinnamon but it tasted that way. I'm more of a cumin and coriander dominant type of falafel girl. My baba was pretty sour with no hint of smokey eggplant flavor. Basically, I just wasn't impressed with the food nor the $36.25 I spent for not so much grub on our table. Side note: they only make tabouleh for catering orders. SMH, bummer! I hate to give them a 2.5 but maybe Mumtaz will get more stars from me during my next visit. BTW. I swooped up a side of baklava on my way out. That's something I'd order again for a nice sweet treat.

Great service!! Had to get the dessert and made an Arnold Palmer as well. So fast! Everything is perfect and I'll be back for sure!

Supposed to be falafel balls- but instead crumbled fried bits of garbanzo beans a with a funny spice and texture.

Service was great. Seating area was spacious. Food was good, the wrap had way too much lettuce for my liking.

For context, you can pick out what you want in your bowl, similarly to Waikiki poke, or Chipotle for example. When you first make your plate, you can ask for pita- I asked the staff member for pita, and was ignored. I had to repeat myself multiple times. When I got to the vegetable section where you can pick five for a plate, I asked for the village salad and was ignored once again as the second staff member proceeded to give me tomatoes. I just asked for lettuce and onions as a replacement for the village salad. I made the mistake of asking one more time about the pita- and the person checking me out responded with a look of disgust? I proceeded to ask one more time. No apology or frankly some sort understanding. I asked for the name of the people working- should've asked for a manager because this staff member proceeded to lecture me about giving bad reviews, and called me weird multiple times. I was flabbergasted, did not know what to say so I left after paying. Holy moly. I was asked multiple times if I knew it was extra for add ons I asked for. I confirmed the first time, but was asked multiple times afterwards. Honestly the reason why I like the plate is because I can add on extra protein and still have room for veggies, etc. I also get extra hummus with my meal and am aware and have happily paid the surcharge. I enjoyed this place so much! I'm going to come back because the quality is wonderful, however if I see these individuals working, I will walk out and choose somewhere else to eat. Thanks the simple Greek for a great lunch! Lost my appetite after the unprofessional costumer service I experienced. However I was able to pass on the meal to a person who enjoyed the quality food.

The order process online went smoothly and the food was ready promptly. I was disappointed by the gyro and ended up not eating it. For the uninitiated, a gyro sandwich is a pita bread filled with gyro meat, tzatziki sauce, and sometimes lettuce, tomatoes, and onions. The meat is made of a blend of seasoned lamb and beef meat molded around a vertical spit. The spit rotates and the outside is exposed to a heat source. As the meat broils, the chef carves off slices or chunks from the sections that have browned. Typically the gyro meat is cooked to "well done." The meat in my gyro was not browned; rather it was lighter colored and had a mealy mouthfeel. I've eaten gyros in traditional Greek restaurants and casual eateries in Chicago, Austin, San Francisco Bay Area, and now Denver, and this was the first time I've tasted the meat cooked this way. Three stars because the restaurant looked well kept and reasonably clean, the service was polite, and it's possible other people are not bothered by manner of preparation of the gyro. I also ordered a side of hummus and it was good.
