After going several times, MUN definitely ranks up there in one of the better Korean BBQ places in KTown. On my most recent trip to LA, I convinced a friend to try out MUN after I had a great experience the last time with my family. While the previous time was during dinner where it was more crowded, this time it was during the late lunch hour which was a lot more chill. Both times I had ordered the MUN's Choice menu (5/5) which felt like a pretty good deal considering the amount and quality of food. The meats come out in an impressive display which includes prime ribeye, prime hanging tender, prime chuck tail, and marinated boneless short rib. Like other Korean restaurants, they had generous banchan, but the menu also comes with cheese fondue, bulgogi jeon, japchae, and choice of stew all of which was great! The service was pretty good both times. Always appreciate when there is a server there to cook the meats for us to make sure it is well cooked. Parking can be difficult as it is with most places in KTown. They do offer valet on select times, but otherwise may need to find paid parking at a lot depending on the time of day. Overall, MUN is a great KBBQ place to try especially if you are looking for a more premium experience in KTown. read more

That said, everything else always feels a little rough. The bathrooms were wet, musty and not very well maintained, and the dining room has definitely seen better days. Little sticky. Little super-strong lemon soap smell overpowering the food. While very 2016 me would have adored this: the over-the-top dry ice presentation for the meat also felt a bit gimmicky. If that's the policy, the service should reflect it. There are far better places to eat in K-town. I specifically chose this spot because I thought they offered valet, but to be clear, it's only available on Friday and Saturday evenings. We won't be coming back, and I strongly suggest management invest in better staff training. Mun Korean Steakhouse is easily one of my new favorite Korean BBQ restaurants in LA. The meat was extremely high quality, tender, and flavorful, especially the ribeye and short ribs. I loved that the staff cooked everything for us and asked what temperature we preferred. The banchan was fresh and delicious, and I especially enjoyed the japchae, bulgogi patties, sweet potato mozzarella sticks, Mun's stew, and crispy chicken wings with cheese fondue. Great for big groups. If you eat inside you can get the ramen too but they have to bring it inside for you which is fine! The kid loved the ramen bar and ate EVERY PIECE OF MEAT. Years ago I remember Mun was always very busy and almost more of a party atmosphere. The second time I came it seemed half empty, but maybe everyone was out of town for the holidays. Both times our server was able to have a shot of soju with us. We ordered the beef tartare and the OMG set menu for 4 people for $210 as well as some drinks and soju. We ended up getting hooked up with an extra bottle of soju and the beef tartare for free. The servers will cook and cut the meat for you. We walked into this place expecting a good meal, but the first thing that happened? No greeting, no "welcome"--just a staff member rushing up and barking: "Two hours only! Came here on a Saturday night since I was craving KBBQ. Had to pay for parking at a nearby plaza because it's LA. It was packed inside so we were given outdoor patio seating, which was the better choice of seating because you sit under a big tree strung with lights. The ambience is serene and very nice. We did notice that the place is right next to a residential neighborhood, so we're curious how they feel about the constant noise and smell of KBBQ. We chose the Date Night (serves 2) combo for $110 which comes with banchan and three servings of meat: prime beef belly, prime ribeye, marinated boneless short ribs. The prime beef belly was by far the best meat because it pairs best with the sauce given. There's a person that cooks the high quality meat for you, so it's cooked well each time + they use bread to soak up the fat. It was super filling and everything was delicious. Wowie the meat quality here is off the charts! I got the Mun Special which came with 4 different types of meats and a bunch of sides. Also added a half order of kkotssal, steamed egg & kimchi stew. We started with the kkotssal and it was sooooo good. Perfectly cooked by our server & the red wine salt is a game changer! The steamed egg was so yummy, they added cheese on top too so it was a eggy cheesy gooey goodness in every bite. The kimchi jigae is a hard pass yall. It was sooooo sour and had 0 kimchi flavor. 0/10, might've been the worst kimchi stew I've ever had Besides the kimchi jigsae, everything else was great. Finally was able to try Mun KBBQ after hearing a lot of good reviews from friends and social media. Got a reservation two weeks in advance to sit indoors. There is an outdoor patio that you can also join the waitlist for if you go in person which is on a first come first serve basis. Got the combo plate for 3-4 people ($170). The combo plate had a variety of different cuts of meat which was so tasty. If you're looking for a great Korean barbecue spot that doesn't sacrifice quality then Mun bbq is the place for you. Server was extremely quick nice and the side dishes that come out are very tasty as well. They also have a cocktail menu, which is very cool prices range from 17 bucks and above. Mun is pretty spacious with high ceilings and you dont get that smokiness in some places where their ventilation sucks. If you're celebrating someones birthday or for a special event, i think Mun is a great choice. If youre looking for a kbbq spot for AYCE or with more variety probably look elsewhere. Parking is valet or street parking. Would recommend ubering as it is in prime koreatown. Parking is scarce. read more

We ordered a variety of meats like steak and beef brisket and each one was so packed with flavor and full of high-quality flavor. The ambience inside was extremely nice as well.
