I'm so glad we decided to try King Chang in LA's Koreatown! It's not AYCE, but honestly, the portions were just right for the three of us. We ordered the Small Beef Combo, which comes with prime thinly sliced brisket, prime boneless short ribs, and a choice of a third meat, we chose the bulgogi. The combo also comes with a choice of spicy paste stew, soybean paste stew, or ramen, and we chose the ramen and loved it! We also ordered the large beef intestines, and they were SO good! Definitely one of our favorites. I also love that they cook the meat for you, so you can just sit back, eat, talk, and enjoy. Our server Alvin was amazing, so kind, friendly, and attentive. The other staff were just as welcoming. I was with my dog, Jimin (Toby), and they all instantly loved him, which made our experience even better. Been here twice in the past two weeks during the World Cup, once after Korea's first game and the other to watch Korea's second game. It doesn't get better than KBBQ + soccer. The food was great as always. Their intestine options are the best in town, my favorite being the large intestine. I think I've converted at least 5 non-intestine-eating friends into intestine fans by now after they've tried it at King Chang. I came in a group of 6 people and ordered the family combo + intestine a la carte and it was more than enough food. Service is always great here. Daniel and Michelle always treat us extremely well and are always attentive. Every staff member we've gotten has cooked our meat perfectly. Never any complaints here, will be back soon! read more

This place is all about the the Korean beef back rib. I was hunting for a Galbi Jjim beef rib one night and this place popped up on my Yelp. They are open late. Most nights they are open to Midnight and on weekends they are open even later. They have really good cold noodle soup and this incredibly tasty potato hash brown and cheese thing. I'll post a picture of it. The beef back ribs are giant and served on the bone. They come out in a big steaming hot stone cauldron and the waiter will cut them off the bone for you and he mixes them into this delicious brown sauce, onion, and potato bowl. The small Korean sides of Kimchi and radish are incredibly refreshing. The Korean cold noodle soup here is very good. They have both kinds - the one in the red sauce and the one in the clear vinegar based broth. Both have good chewy noodles. This place is absolutely awesome. My favorite new Korean restaurants, if not my absolute favorite overall Korean restaurant. It's tucked away in a pretty well known Korean food plaza in the back corner. The inside is lively Korean vibes. The ambience is fun and feels like a transport into some type of cool drinking Korean food spot (as it should) It's not KBBQ style where you need to cook it yourself, and I love this. The older I get, the more I don't want to have to cook my food at a restaurant. I like showing up, sitting down, and delicious prepared food is brought to me! It's located in the same "alleyway" business spot as Ahgassi Gopchang, both can be prone to be super busy, so keep that in mind. There is a seating/waiting area outside which is nice. We came here on the last day of Anime Expo and we were seated immediately. There's a good amount of tables and seating inside. Perfect. Apparently my boyfriend went here before and ran into Tablo from Epik High. Neat! Service was efficient and they get the food out to you ASAP. Even though there's a place that specializes in intestines next door, my boyfriend can't help but to order it here too, but who can blame him since it's a deliciously crispy and yummy meat and not THAT common, I suppose. We got the medium spicy intestine combo and when we asked how spicy it was, we confirmed that it was around as spicy as Buldak. I've been eating other Buldak variants lately and not the original, so this kind of hit me on the back of the head like a baseball bat. Definitely is an additive spiciness that builds throughout the meal. Somewhat destroyed our less spice tolerant Cantonese friend and we had a lot of food left over. Each combo comes with a stew (we bot the soybean paste one) a steamed egg, aged kimchi, cheese fondue (it's a small tinfoil bowl of cheese you cook on the grill), jalapenos and onions, as well as all of the banchan. There's also the option to choose 3 items and you can duplicate up to 2 items, but I think we just got one of each (small/large intestine and the abomasum). Due to underestimating the spice and being dehydrated after technically 5 days of AX, we were not able to finish all of our food and had to take it to go. This is definitely something you need a drink to cool down with or rice to mitigate the spice. But overall, not bad! read more

Came here on a weekday around 8 pm, and it wasn't too busy, which was nice. We ordered the beef combo and the intestine combo. The meat quality here is supposed to be prime, so the prices are a bit higher than other spots. I like that they cook everything for you at the table, and the food itself was good overall. What I didn't like was how rushed the cooking felt. Two of our friends were still on the way, and while we were just hanging out, drinking soju, and waiting, the server started cooking all the meat pretty fast. By the time our friends arrived, the beef combo was already cooked, tossed onto their plates, and looked kind of burnt and cold. It would've been nice if they waited for everyone to show up before starting. That aside, it's still a solid Korean BBQ spot, especially if you're into intestines like I am. As soon as we arrived to the parking lot, they had valet and directed us to the restaurant. Once inside, we waited a moment before checking in and getting to our table. The setting was the typical kbbq and the booths are cozy. The small intestine was good crispy but the large intestine was a bit too much on the rich fatty side for me. All in all everything was pretty good. The price is decent as it was just the group of us 4 and we split like $50 bucks each not too bad. Great Korean BBQ spot in Koreatown! The atmosphere is lively and fun, especially at night. We ordered the snowflake beef and pork ribs, and I really loved that the staff grilled the meat for us. They clearly know what they're doing and cooked everything perfectly. One of my favorite things was the table setup--you can grill the meat while having a hot soup pot right next to it. It's such a comforting combination, especially if you love having soup with your BBQ. The beef short rib soup was also a pleasant surprise. The meat was tender, the broth was flavorful, and the portion was generous. The seafood pancake was fresh, although there was a little more green onion than I personally prefer. The restaurant also has a huge wall covered with celebrity signatures, which was really fun to look at. Apparently, quite a few Korean actors and celebrities have visited.
