    $109 combo
    Jaclyn D.

IG recommendation did it again!! It is not an AYCE so the meat quality, you know, would be good but when the server squeeze fresh lemon juice onto your beef tongue...you know this place is legit. We got the $109 selection and it was plenty of food for 3 people. Simple banchan paired with deliciously grilled meats and you even get: steam egg, your choice of soup (spicy kimchi or beef paste stew) or kimchi fried rice, and Korean pancake. Staffs were friendly and really hustle so it made the experience even better since they grill for you. Definitely would return for more beef tongue and beef fingers! Staff: 5/5 Parking: 5/5 (structured - 3hr free with validation) Price: 4/5

Overall, I'd recommend this bbq place. Located in K Plaza Market, you need to park on the 4th floor to be right next to the entrance to the restaurant on the third floor. Their meat is great quality. We had the 2 people combo that was $109, and the chadol, galbi, the joomuluck were all great quality meat. We added one cold noodles, order of yukhwe, and fried rice since there were 3 of us, and the amount of food was plentiful. They give you steamed egg and a small stew as well. We enjoyed the meat, including yukhwe, but the fried rice and cold noodles were both a hard pass. Not sure how they mess up on fried rice, but it was pretty flavorless and I actually brought it home and added some more kimchi broth and sesame oil to make it tastier. The cold noodles (naengmyun) was not something I'd order again, and I love cold noodles. I'd go back for their meat though, and on the day I was there for lunch, service was very good. We had to cook the meat ourselves a bit when it got busy, but the waiter was very attentive and receptive to our requests. They were famously known for their abalone porridge before they became a bbq restaurant, and I'm looking forward to trying it again next time I'm here! Confirmed that they still have it on their menu.

I've been to San BBQ (aka Mountain) a couple times now and it's pleasing, reliable and I'm sure I'll be back. It was in another location for years and opened in the Koreatown Plaza mall last year. Sometimes the music from the restaurant is blaring through the mall so if you follow the sound, you'll find yourselves at Mountain San Korean BBQ on the 3rd floor. It's a loud and poppin' KBBQ spot between the music and overhead vents with staff running around quickly. Service can sometimes be slow and you wait for awhile as it gets very busy. I haven't ever encountered a hugeeeee wait here so that has been a huge positive dining here. And they have the parking lot which is a big plus in Koreatown, too. Be sure to get your parking validated The service is decent, the meat is decent, the overall experience is decent. I like their beef belly best!

Parking is so so comfortable,no need to pay for valet fee like $3-$6 at night. BBQ is main menu but for me,side menu were the best fit for a drink at dinner time. So cheap with small amount of food which is good enough for the people like small food eaters.Strongly recommended.

I really liked this restaurant, which is on the top floor of Koreatown Plaza. Lately, we've been going to the KTP Food Court but we decided to try something different since it's in the same building. We were the first customers when they opened for the day and we were a bit skeptical since it was getting close to lunchtime and no one else was there. No worries though as the place quickly filled up as we finished our meal. We decided to order a few items from their extensive menu. We were considering going with one of their bbq combo meals but we thought it would be too much food plus we wanted to try a few dishes. We opted for marinated galbi (half order), rib eye steak (half order), abalone porridge and cold noodles. We liked that you could order half-orders for bbq as well as other a la carte items. The meal also came with an assortment of banchan + steamed egg + fried pancake + fried squid. The meal was truly delicious and a treat since I have been laying off beef for awhile. We had a really nice server who bbq'd our meat selection to perfection. Needless to say, service was good, maybe not too personal but they do a very great job. Customer base seemed very mixed: older folks, families, couples. Apparently they do get very busy in the evenings. A great spot that I hope to visit again so I can sample other items from their extensive menu. Free validated parking (!!!) in the KTP structure! Plus ++++ we DID NOT smell like bbq smoke after our meal...!!! I kept sniffing my sweatshirt but to my surprise no lingering smell of smoke.

    $99 beef special

I came here for the second time this week. The first time I came here was shortly after I saw huge lines here and was wondering what it was that caused all this commotion. It's definitely a quality Korean bbq spot that probably has the best steamed egg I've ever tried (with a flavorful sesame oil flavor to it). I got the $99 beef special, which for two people, really is a lot of food. The beef belly has that flavor profile you look for when you start eating the meat, the Wagyu is lean and tender, then my favorite part was the kalbi without the marinade. What made that so special is that the grill has charcoal, so all that deep charcoal smoke coats the meat perfectly. With how they have their ventilation system set up, the smoke from the charcoal goes straight up through the grill and into the meat. Pairing that cut with the green tea salt provides a perfect combination to a flavor that you can expect from high quality meat. After, they served the marinated kalbi. I didn't recall getting fried shrimp the first time I went, but it was nice to get that crunchy texture as well to enjoy throughout the meal, along with the flavorful kimchi pancake. I really like the panchan here, especially the salad, green things and the kimchi. What makes the salad here nice is how they dress it up into the sesame oil. It gives the salad such a nice flavor that you definitely want a second serving. In addition to the smoke being focused on the meat, their ventilation system prevents your clothes or hair from smelling like smoke as well, which is a common complaint found in other Korean bbq spots that Mountain addresses well. The service here is phenomenal. They cook for you. They treat you with kindness and respect. They're attentive. And the ambiance is nice too. This is definitely a Korean bbq place worth checking out!

Mountain KBBQ is tucked inside the H Mart building on Western -- kind of hidden, kind of perfect. We went for the all-beef combo ($99.99 for two) and honestly, it was a solid choice. Everything came out fresh, well-marbled, and sizzling hot. The portions were generous enough that we both left full but not in that regret-your-life way. Service was quick and efficient -- they don't hover, but they're there the second you need more banchan or a clean grill. The sides were all solid, especially the kimchi and dipping sauces. It's definitely more quality-driven than your usual all-you-can-eat KBBQ chaos. Parking's easy thanks to the H Mart lot, and it's kind of fun to walk around the market afterward with that lingering smoky BBQ smell clinging to you like a badge of honor. Pro tip: come early -- it fills up fast on weekends.

I've eaten at Mountain a few times since they recently opened in Koreatown Plaza, and every time had been an amazing experience! Their bbq combos are great for groups with a delicious variety of beef/pork cuts and enough portions for everyone to enjoy. Banchan is yummy and tastes so fresh, and the servers always refilled it quickly whenever we ran out. Every time I've eaten here, servers have been friendly and attentive. This place has a fun vibe, and it's definitely in my top favorites for kbbq. They also get bonus points from me for serving my go-to brand of soju!

Mountain San BBQ recently opened up at this new location, I think it's been a few months now but a huge plus for me is the free parking. The Premium Beef combo set was well worth the price for me. It includes ribeye, marinated galbi, marbled beef, and short rib marinated with sesame oil and salt. Though it was busy at the time of my visit, the staff did their best to come and check on my table often, they cooked and cut the meat for us, which was nice to not have to worry about burning my meat and making sure is cooked perfectly. Great service and great food, I would recommend trying Mountain San BBQ!

If you're looking for high-quality Korean BBQ at a great price, this is the place to go. I especially loved the premium cut short rib -- honestly one of the best I've had in Koreatown. We ordered the combo for two, and there was so much food that we couldn't even finish it all and ended up taking some to-go. The staff were all super friendly, and Andy in particular was so kind and attentive throughout our meal. I also loved that parking was free and self-parking instead of valet. Definitely a spot I'd come back to again!

I had dinner here yesterday with my cousin (she's from San Diego) and her bf. Really friendly staff, service was great and omg the meat quality was amazing! The beef melted in our mouths. So tender and absolutely juicy. I love how the waitress and waiters would cook the meat for us (it's great so they make sure the meat isn't over cooked) and also I don't go home with my hands smelling like grilled beef (my dog didn't judge me this time). They didn't spend much on the decor of the restaurant, but they did spend a lot on the ranges and the grills, it actually sucks up all the smoke from the grills so everyone can eat and enjoy their food without having a bunch of smoke going into their faces. We ordered the beef combo for 3 people. Heads up it's a lot of beef! I love how attentive the servers were. When we ran out of salad, we didn't even have to ask, they immediately brought over a new salad bowl. I'll definitely be coming back when I'm in the area. My cousin also wants to come back when she comes up to visit. She wants to try the beef rib soup.

Brought my family here after my partner saw a YT video online and we were impressed! Got an assortment of dishes - the $99 stone grill combo, bibim-naengmyeon, bibimbap, beef sundubu, and jajangmyeon. Everything was very filling and the servers were on top of it. They'd come pretty often to help cook the meats. Honestly I'm coming back for the rib-eye next time My bibim-naengmyeon noodles were stuck together like the starch didn't get washed out completely. The jajangmyeon was different from what were used to but apparently the owner likes it that way so I dig it! Everyone has their own version :)

My first night/ visit: I came on a casual evening and sat at the bar. I ordered a variety of empanadas and a glass of Malbec. Finished with the chocolate banana dessert. The decor here is wonderful with a great spatial sense. If la vie bohème were a physical space. The people were warm and friendly and even met and struck up conversation with a fellow patron that was friends with the owners. A place I feel like the artists in 1920 Paris would hang out in, haha. Japanese American history in Los Angeles is fascinating, and so much more of it needs to be told. Well, some of that great history comes through the tireless and hard-working efforts of Yoshi and the other two gentlemen featured in the picture attached to this review. This is home to some to some of the most unique, and tasty chili in L.A. I've been eating it since I was a freshman in the high school, but damn near a decade or so slip by in between that time. Fun fact #2 there is a picture of some cool rapper type guy on the outer window of Okie Dog that can be seen ever so briefly in the movie. That young man is......well......ME! Lol (this was sheer luck in coincidence-and no I never saw a dime). LOL Let's go over the food....I played it safe and didn't go with the Oki Dog itself, but rather a double cheeseburger with extra chili on the side. My hands were silly sloppy with chili all over the place after even a few bites! Suffice to say everything on this menu is delicious, and regardless of what I order I'm sure to add chili to everything. To conclude, my experience was about to wind down when I noticed the legend himself still in that doggone kitchen! It was none other than Yoshi himself, a man who has given countless hours, smiles, and great energy to a predominantly working class neighborhood in Los Angeles for roughly half a century! The Oki Dog is a double barreled chili cheese burrito. This combo instantly will take you back to the early 90s. Its huge, and a bit heavy, but if you need something to get u thru the day then this will do it. The teriyaki was just alright. The chicken was solid, but tasted a bit freezer burnt, and the beef was moreso philly cheesesteak type beef than a proper thin sliced or chopped beef when it comes to beef teriyaki. Solid little spot for some LA Nostalgia, but pack some Tums because everything is a bit heavy.
