Wowzers! Not an AYCE but quality is fantastic. I have to say I always skip the mash potatoes for banchan because it's usually dry and doesn't have flavor but not this place! Every single banchan was delish, fresh, and flavorful. The rice sheets was steamed which is a first for me and I like it so much. Steaming it makes it much easier to seperate, soft and fluffy. I got the cheapest set meal, added garlic shrimp and small abalone rice. Everything was phenomenal. Service is great. They come around and cook the meat for you. I saw this restaurant on my Instagram feed, and just knew that I had to come try it out! I've heard many wonderful things about the amazing meat quality and flavor! Upon arriving on a Sunday night around 6:30 PM, we were welcomed by each and every server there. Between the three of us, we ordered the premium beef combo that serves 3 to 4 people, and a half portion of the cold noodles. Everything tasted absolutely amazing - all of their sides are made freshly in-house, and their meat is marinated with their special restaurant recipe! Everything tasted amazing and each bite of meat melts in your mouth. The marinated options are definitely my favorite. Fun fact - this is actually the oldest standing Korean barbecue restaurant in k-town! They've been open for 52 years. We originally came here to just try the soup but after stepping inside and smelling the grilled meats we had to get KBBQ. From the moment we walked in the staff was super welcoming and the owner even came over to explain their menu, ingredients, and options. He and the rest of the staff also came over frequently to check in, cook our meats, and even offered us some complimentary items for our first time. Be sure to come during HH as they offer some free Soju! It's a newer location that opened in the last couple of months so it's clean and I really liked how the vents were the skinny ones similar to Korea and are right above the grill. There was a constant stream of people throughout the night (we came at 8) so I can see how crazy it can get on the weekends. Definitely try to come on the weekdays to avoid the crowds. It's also located at hmart so you can get parking and get it validated. There was only two of us so we ended up trying the duo to be able to try some of their key meats. My favorites were definitely the wagyu brisket and galbi. The owner mentioned they make the sauces in house (no corn syrup) and with korean pears! I also got a side of their kimchi soup which was a nice kick to the meats. They make their soup bases in house and that is what they are originally known for. I need to come back to try the abalone. They also ship their coal for the grills for Korea so it really gives that nice char and flavor. Overall, we had a great dinner here and even had leftovers! Overall, I'd recommend this bbq place. Located in K Plaza Market, you need to park on the 4th floor to be right next to the entrance to the restaurant on the third floor. Their meat is great quality. We had the 2 people combo that was $109, and the chadol, galbi, the joomuluck were all great quality meat. We added one cold noodles, order of yukhwe, and fried rice since there were 3 of us, and the amount of food was plentiful. They give you steamed egg and a small stew as well. We enjoyed the meat, including yukhwe, but the fried rice and cold noodles were both a hard pass. Not sure how they mess up on fried rice, but it was pretty flavorless and I actually brought it home and added some more kimchi broth and sesame oil to make it tastier. The cold noodles (naengmyun) was not something I'd order again, and I love cold noodles. I'd go back for their meat though, and on the day I was there for lunch, service was very good. We had to cook the meat ourselves a bit when it got busy, but the waiter was very attentive and receptive to our requests. It's a loud and poppin' KBBQ spot between the music and overhead vents with staff running around quickly. Service can sometimes be slow and you wait for awhile as it gets very busy. I haven't ever encountered a hugeeeee wait here so that has been a huge positive dining here. And they have the parking lot which is a big plus in Koreatown, too. This place got me through college and grad school, so I was happy to see the owner combined San and Mountain Noodles into a new spot with a huge perk: free parking! It's 3 hours free with validation and parking is safe and so easy. The best update is that they now offer mini versions of the classics. It means you can actually order the abalone porridge or beef tartare as a side without having to skip the KBBQ. The Kalbi Short Ribs They've used the same pear/apple marinade since '74. It's naturally caramelized and not that overly sweet, syrupy mess you get at other places. Steamed Egg: Super fluffy because they use anchovy broth instead of just water. Potato Pancake: Made with sweet shrimp--definitely a unique dish. Open until midnight on weekends, which is great because it still feels like a "homestyle" meal rather than typical heavy greasy late-night food. Parking Validation up to 3 hours! This spot is located inside a plaza on the 3rd level, above H-mart. I had arrived there for lunch at noon on a Saturday. The workers were nice, but if you plan on coming here starving, I recommend you eat a little beforehand or be prepared to wait a long time. We first entered and were told to wait 10 minutes while they seated us. There were a bunch of tables open, but they seemed short-staffed. They WERE EXTREMELY SHORT STAFFED when I was there. Once we were seated, it took us about 15-20 minutes for them to take our order. I don't mind the wait, cause the place was nice and clean, and I think it's a great place to catch up with a buddy. After they took our order, about 30 mins passed before the food arrived. I came with a family member who was extremely hungry, so we decided to cook the food ourselves since they had just left it there for 10 minutes. A worker finally rushed over and cooked a bit for us because the workers here are the only ones who should do the cooking- understandable. But what's not understandable is having 3 servers when there are 7-8 tables waiting. They are rushing around a lot and trying to keep everyone happy, but I feel like there should be at least a few more servers because the lunch rush was barely starting, and we only TRULY got to eat almost 40-50 minutes after arriving. The meal also came with an assortment of banchan + steamed egg + fried pancake + fried squid. The meal was truly delicious and a treat since I have been laying off beef for awhile. We had a really nice server who bbq'd our meat selection to perfection. Needless to say, service was good, maybe not too personal but they do a very great job. I came here for the second time this week. The first time I came here was shortly after I saw huge lines here and was wondering what it was that caused all this commotion. It's definitely a quality Korean bbq spot that probably has the best steamed egg I've ever tried (with a flavorful sesame oil flavor to it). I got the $99 beef special, which for two people, really is a lot of food. The beef belly has that flavor profile you look for when you start eating the meat, the Wagyu is lean and tender, then my favorite part was the kalbi without the marinade. What made that so special is that the grill has charcoal, so all that deep charcoal smoke coats the meat perfectly. With how they have their ventilation system set up, the smoke from the charcoal goes straight up through the grill and into the meat. Pairing that cut with the green tea salt provides a perfect combination to a flavor that you can expect from high quality meat. After, they served the marinated kalbi. I didn't recall getting fried shrimp the first time I went, but it was nice to get that crunchy texture as well to enjoy throughout the meal, along with the flavorful kimchi pancake. I really like the panchan here, especially the salad, green things and the kimchi. What makes the salad here nice is how they dress it up into the sesame oil. It gives the salad such a nice flavor that you definitely want a second serving. In addition to the smoke being focused on the meat, their ventilation system prevents your clothes or hair from smelling like smoke as well, which is a common complaint found in other Korean bbq spots that Mountain addresses well. The service here is phenomenal. They cook for you. They treat you with kindness and respect. They're attentive. And the ambiance is nice too. We've been coming here since last winter and have visited more than 6 times. The food isn't as good as it used to be, but we kept coming back because parking is easy and they help grill the meat. Unfortunately, our last visit completely changed our mind. Our female server was extremely rude, impatient, and clearly did not want to be there. She wouldn't answer basic questions about the meat, acted annoyed when we asked for side dishes, and barely checked on our table. It wasn't just us either. She had the same cold attitude toward the other tables around us, and the whole section felt uncomfortable. The grilling service was also terrible. She disappeared for long periods, flipped meat before it was ready, and we eventually had to grill everything ourselves after seeing another table's meat getting burned. It includes ribeye, marinated galbi, marbled beef, and short rib marinated with sesame oil and salt. Though it was busy at the time of my visit, the staff did their best to come and check on my table often, they cooked and cut the meat for us, which was nice to not have to worry about burning my meat and making sure is cooked perfectly. They didn't spend much on the decor of the restaurant, but they did spend a lot on the ranges and the grills, it actually sucks up all the smoke from the grills so everyone can eat and enjoy their food without having a bunch of smoke going into their faces. Where does one start with such an incredible dining experience... Mountain used to be one of my go-to spots back when they were located in the same mall as Hangari Kalguksu. They've since moved and now seem to lean more toward a Korean BBQ concept, though they still offer some of their original menu items. We ordered the kimchi jjigae (#M7)--a familiar favorite from their old menu--along with the bean paste-based soup with beef ribs (#6) and the pork katsu appetizer. Just a heads-up: their infamous jangjorim banchan only comes with dishes that start with "M" (i.e., the Mountain Cafe items). The food was fine, but the service was a bit underwhelming. Aside from when our order was taken, I had to flag someone down for water, missing banchan, and even the check. This was surprising, considering there was almost a 1:1 ratio of staff to tables when we visited. One of the things we loved most about the old location was its homey, hole-in-the-wall vibe. This new spot, while bigger and offering ample free parking and an expanded menu, seems to have lost that small business charm. Oh, Mountain San BBQ, where do I even start? I wandered in craving something hearty but not in the mood to play grill master with Korean BBQ, so I went for the imperial style stew - sounded fancy, like I was about to dine with ancient emperors or at least get a crown with my meal. Spoiler: no crown, just a side of unexpected "seasoning." The stew arrives looking all steamy and promising, and I'm digging in like it's my last meal. Then, out of nowhere - plop! A greasy droplet kamikazes from the air vent above, straight into my bowl. I stare at it, thinking, "Is this a new fusion cuisine? Korean BBQ meets stealth mode?" Turns out, the vents were sweating more than I was after that spicy bite. Who needs extra flavor when the ceiling's got your back... or rather, your soup? Service was fine, ambiance was "industrial chic" if you ignore the potential for oil slicks, but let's just say my imperial stew turned into an "imperial slick" real quick. Great quality meat and service! Parking is free with validation in a huge structure attached to the parking/mall. The meat is fresh and the premium beef combo was the perfect amount for two people. We enjoyed eating here really much and would definitely come back! Love that they aren't ayce since we wanted to eat quality meat. read more

Great food and service! Love that they have set menus with kalbi, beef belly, toungue for $100. Not bad-- for 2 was definitely more than enough!!! Great customer service. They didn't provide us salad, maybe I needed to ask? Was with my two kids unsure if they forgot! I know it's a new location and they are trying to get everything straightened! Ambiance is nice and roomy! I love that it's not dark--lots of kbbq places are dark and super loud! The manager was super nice!! My new favorite KBBQ place!!! Everything is great here: free available parking, the music, the food, and the service (shoutout to our server, Mark, for the incredible service!). We ordered the Premium Beef Combo and the quality of the meats were great. All meats had the perfect sear, our grill was changed 4 times almost once for each plate we were served. The worker also measured the temperature of the grill before cooking to ensure the best sear possible. The banchan was so good and they also had a yummy garlic jalapeño sauce that I haven't had at any other kbbq place. The servers were super nice and friendly and checked on us often but not in an overbearing way, which I really appreciate. read more

AHH just found one of my new fav KBBQ spots in Ktown!! I always went to Mountain Noodle so it was sad to see it go, but really happy they opened up this new restaurant because the meat is actually a game changer. Even the way they marinate their meat is a love letter to authentic Korean cuisine - tender and juicy that pairs perfectly with the side dishes and sauces!! I'm all for a good marinated onion and cabbage salad - it's the simple things ya know. My friends and I got the Premium Beef Combo for 3, perfect portions as we were 3 people, and they had meats with each their own unique textures and flavors - my personal favorite was the tender beef sirloin and of course, the marinated cuts. I'm no professional when it comes to meat but it literally has that perfectly succulent and fatty premium quality to it that's not too dense or greasy. Would highly recommend getting their side dishes like the classic steamed egg - so silky soft and light - and they also had a mung bean pancake which I LOVEE!! It has that kinda warm, earthy flavor to it with a delicate crisp on the outside and Had to get the soybean paste stew because it goes so well with the meat and it was perfectly seasoned, but we also got the naengmyun noodles (both cold and spicy) which was actually so fire - savory + refreshing + chewy - perfect for the upcoming summer. The inside is pretty spacious and they also have free parking for 3 hours with validation at KTP (a blessing). The menu is also cracked and has so many diverse dishes that can appeal to all palates, trust.
