I've ordered initially out convenience while on uber eats and it has become part of my rotation. The grilled chicken salad is one of my favorites- fresh croutons, hearty portion of chicken, and enough for two. Pizza slices are affordable. Love the variety! Lots of options for different craving types. Still exploring the menu. read more

First time visit and will definitely return. Visited this place on a whim, got the italian beef sandwich, fries, chili, and a Reese's shake. Food portions exceeded expectations, taste was delicious, and staff was very friendly. Looking forward to re-visiting with family and friends. read more

The food was ok for a while til the woman Owner who parks her Lexus in front of the restaurant started talking down to me and said you never had a Polish hotdog before ? I told her the Polish hotdog look like a regular hotdog and it wasn't the size of a Polish. I will never return. The Mexican guy who cooks is wonderful he doesn't say much and he does a great job. I'm pretty sure she's in business because of him. She doesn't even dress to code and put a hair net to cover her hair for sanitation purposes .Unfortunately I will not return to this restaurant because of her. she even charges three dollars for garlic bread and that's not even the whole bread but a slice of French bread too. It's really not even about the food but it's the attitude and she should also put more lighting in her restaurant. She even approached me one time when a disabled customer who is mentally challenged was sitting next to me I didn't mind, but she approached me and said you can go sit somewhere else so you don't get bothered I don't know what her problem is. The owner seems like a princess and judgemental doesn't care much for a customers or taking care of her facility she only wants the money so she can pay off her Lexus probably read more

We've ordered for here a few times when we feel like having some diner-like food. We usually go for the gyro plate which gives a very generous portion of meat, along w a pita, fries, tomatoes, onions, side of tzatziki. We also get cups of cheese (one is good for two ppl but I always forget that). Prices are very reasonable for the amount of food you get - I think our entire meal w grubhub delivery and tip was less than $40 (which included 2 drinks). I would order more often but I'm too old and fat to eat like this very often but everything in moderation! read more

Needed to order take out in the Irving Park area and Munchies definitely satisfied our munchies! They have an extensive menu with different options like burgers, hot dogs, soups, salads, and other fried foods (onion rings, fries, etc). They also have yummy malts and shakes. Ordered for the student I tutor and the order came within twenty minutes! The delivery man was really nice and the food was yummy! The soup was simple yet hearty and the fries hit the spot. I ordered the salad and it was fresh. Prices were decent but taxes, delivery and tip will set you $10+ for a 20.00 order. Will definitely try again if I'm in the area! read more

Munchies was my go-to gyro place. When I used to live in uptown and these were the best gyros in my delivery area. I ordered a gyro sandwich and an Italian beef for my friend. We got our food very quickly, and it was delicious. My friend told me her Italian beef has great. My gyro never lets me down,munchies has really good sauce and great meat. This was perfect when I came back to Chicago I made sure Munchies was one of my stops. The deliver service is also really great. Everyone of the drivers are really nice. Overall I would highly recommend munchies if your in the area. read more

About 2 weeks ago, i tasted their steak burrito as take out and it wasn't that great. It was mushy and bland. Around 1045am, I brought my daughter for dine in today. This small location have a capcity of 28 peoole total. Bar seats along a counter by a wall and tables near the store front. We ordered 12inch pepperoni pizza $9 and 1liter rc for $1.79- rather than get a pepperoni or sausage slice for $2.25 (cheese $2). The employee mentioned the pizza will be done in 30 minutes because of the pizza stove isn't warmed up yet. With chili peppers and parmesan cheese, the pizza was decent. Menu consists of: Food specials with fries & pop, appetizers, sandwiches, subs, salads, and dinner food. Small parking lot. Munchies & More is between a liquor store and Social Club. We would go back if we have late night munchies, this place is usually open until 11pm. read more

This place is wonderful! We have tried the longhorn sub sandwich, polish sausage, chicago dog, cheeseburger, Italian beef, and chicken nuggets all which were delicious. My husband and I just moved to the neighborhood and have gotten munchies twice already! There are so many fun options and the food is exactly what you want it to be. The Gyros sandwiches were awesome (there was so much meat), and the chicken burrito was a fun, Mediterranean-vibe twist on a burrito. Shrimp basket is exactly what you would expect. If I had life to do over again, I would have built up a business nest egg and opened a quick slice pizza place (heavy on the grease) named "Munchies." It would be the kind of place that would have food to satisfy those with the condition contained in the name. It would have made a mint I'm sure (and I'd be chilling on a beach in a place with no winter). Unluckily for my wallet but luckily for my stomach, someone already did just that. Whoever came up with that name was a marketing expert (or at least a stoner with a good drug induced idea). Except in one respect - location (location, location). Though this place is surprisingly close to the shopping district on Elston Avenue, it feels so isolated in a mini-strip mall that the only way I knew it was there was passing by it at random on the way home from the Chicago North DMV. The slices are tangy, not too cheesy, thin crust pieces of delight at $1.25 (or $1.50 for carnivores). I got two and it was pretty much a filling 1/4 pizza. They also have full diner and sandwich menus. Were this place actually in a neighborhood with anyone under 40, it would probably be a busy hangout spot. There are video games in the dining area, ample seating (considering how small the place is), and a laid back staff (I figured walking in this might be an unfriendly to strangers neighborhood type of place). So maybe I haven't missed my chance. Maybe I should open a Munchies West in a hipper neighborhood (if I could get a loan in this economic climate). read more

Today this NASTY female at Munchies answer's the phone with an ATTITUDE!!! She sucks!! Left my mother on the phone for 7 to 8 minutes. Then she had the nerve to answer another call and continued to leave my mother on hold! My mother called again this NASTY said hold please again. My mother told her I've been on hold for 9 to 10 min Then my mother than called back two more times it rang and hung up 2x!!! For the owner you should not have her working for you she is RUDE and DISRESPECTFUL to your customers! By the way you food is mediocre!!! That's okay because next week.... THE BIG CHAIN RESTAURANT will be opening!! To that nasty female answering phones good luck with your job search and I hope learn your lesson!!! read more

Very disappointing. I ordered a large pizza and an order of mozz sticks. I ordered them online for pick up. THEIR website said it would be ready by 10:30 as I originally requested a 10:15 pick up time. I show up about 10:40 and the young lady at the front desk informed me it wouldn't be ready for another half hour as she said the pizza oven needed time to warm up. I told her that the time was what THEY suggested. If it wasn't gonna be ready by THEIR time why would it give me a time? She said she didn't know. She then blamed me because she said she tried to call me and tell me. Now, I did receive a call from an unknown number so I did not pick up. I asked her why a message wasn't left. Again, she didn't know. Since I already paid for it I told her I'd come back. If I didn't pay already I would have just canceled. I went back and got my food. The flavor was bland on both items and definitely does not deserve a revisit. The only reason they received 2 stars is that for a large pizza with 1 topping and a side and a drink all for about $15. That's not a bad price. Other than that it would be 1 star. If only the food was better and the counter person was better at her job and knew how phone communication worked! read more

Ordered from here via Grubhub, and it was about what you'd expect from a place called Munchies. The food was, well... food. The usual cheap late-night take-out food. Greasy, filling, expected. No surprises, no disappointments. Delivery was a bit late, despite the fact that I ordered outside what should have been a rush time. I'd probably order again, and might stop in if I happen to be in the neighborhood, but I wouldn't go out of my way to find it. read more

Never been to the actual restaurant, but have ordered food from here several times. I have to say that I've not had a bad experience yet. One of the joys of delivery is that it comes to your house and you don't have to leave it. The downside is that if you order fried food (why WOULDN'T you?), if the restaurant packages it wrong, it's cold or the condensation has stuck to the food and it's vaguely damp in a really unpleasant way. All the food that I've ordered from these guys has shown up hot, crispy, and not gross. Basically, these are the only local guys I order from if I want crispy fried food delivered to my house. read more

Been going to munchies for about 10 years. I moved away from the area, but when I got a taste for a chicken sandwich, this was the place to go. Unfortunately, my last time there, I ordered 2 chicken sandwiches to go around 9pm. Got home and began to eat my sandwich, the other I gave to my girlfriend. I noticed that my sandwich had some hard to chew chicken along with a piece that was normal. I was hungry so I ate it. The next day, my girlfriend ate her second half of her sandwich and told me part of her sandwich had a hard chewing piece so she gave it to the dog. The next day, I called to complain about this and at 1st was told to come in for 2 free sandwiches for the inconvenience. Less than 2 minutes later, I got a call from munchies telling me that they no longer can do this because they stand by their chicken? I don't appreciate that kind of customer treatment. They lost a loyal customer, I don't like to called a liar! read more

Pizza sold by the slice. Slice combos available as well with fries and drink for about $6 plus tax. Char foods tend to be the favorite here as are the chicken gyros, delivery guys come and go often. I had a burger combo recently and well, it was nothing special. A frozen patty with a nice bun and toppings that left a heavy feeling in my belly hours after digestion. A bit too expensive but its convenience food. read more

I love this place. We order from here weekly, but the last couple of times we've ordered from here, it's been a little off. They're usually really good about getting orders right. Ask for your sauces and tell them exactly what you want on your burgers, gyros, beefs (bf got a plain beef). Literally a nightmare to order delivery from, which is a bummer because the food is good. The first order took 2 hours to get here and after multiple calls to the restaurant involving several mismatching excuses from one woman, the manager finally saved the day and comped the meal. Ordered again and they forgot an item. The delivery driver made me verify my identity. The girl that answered the phone when I called said she'd refund that item but didn't ask more. I had to have GrubHub resolve the issue because she never processed the refund. Pass. read more

I love Munchies! It's our "go to" place on Sundays. Their pizza is awesome for fast food pizza. I mean it's no Pequods or Lou Mal's but it's above par fast food pizza. I love the sweet sauce. And for $11.99 for a large 1 topping pizza you can't beat that. They have a wide range of items on their menu from hot dogs to tamales to gyros to tacos to a bucket of rib tips. Fast food wise you can get pretty much anything you want here. And the prices are fair. This is a great fast food joint if you are in the neighborhood. read more

My office is just down the street and one of the guys suggested Munchies for lunch. I had not ever been there so now seemed like the perfect opportunity to check it out. I ordered a beef sandwich dipped with peppers and it was good. The fries were crispy. They had tons of lunch specials. Parking was easy (they have a lot) and the service was fast. That's everything you want in a hot dog/hamburger joint. I will be back. read more

This place is great! I've ordered from Munchies a number of times, and always been very happy. I LOVE the chicken sandwich (on pita) their grilled chikcen salad with oil and vinager is also amazing (very tasty chicken) gyros is deelish and I just ordered the pizza puff today, so I'll report back on that. The place is very clean and the staff is very friendly. Both in person and over the phone. My co-workers and I have ordered for delivery and we've never had a problem. You should try it! I couldn't find many recent reviews for the pizza, so I ordered one because I knew these guys make good burgers, etc. It was good. The sauce is sweeter but overall cooked really well. Delivery took 45 minutes for a sausage onion and mushroom 16 inch. read more

The wife and I ordered a gyro sandwich and an Italian beef with cheese. We got our food very quickly, and it was delicious. The beef has great giardiniera, with great flavor. The gyro was solid, with a good sauce and great meat. Honestly, this was perfect Chicago diner food. There was nothing unexpected, but it was well done with a smile. I also ordered one of their refreshers because Chicago summers are HOT! With the refresher, I accidentally ordered a frozen one. Credit to the staff for allowing my "whoopsie-doodle" and offering to switch to a different one. Since they only come in one size, and not wanting a sugar-bomb, I went for a fountain drink instead (diet option) The Cheesy Fiesta Potatoes were middle of the pack. Not fresh from the fryer, but not cold either; they seemed like they'd been sitting under a high-powered heat lamp instead. As for the Chalupa, this was towards the lower end of what I've had at Taco Bells. The tortilla wasn't toasted whatsoever, and the beef was notably goopy. What accentuated these problems is that this location didn't have salt and pepper, even upon request. In my experience, it's salt and pepper that help bring out the best in Taco Bell, not just the sauces (those are a close second). Without these basics, both the potatoes and chalupa were bland. What this place did have, however, are very high prices. It was downright sticker shock when I saw the chalupa was almost $7. For something this unsatisfying, it is basically highway robbery. In terms of service and staff, considering the Michelin guide isn't stopping by, it was generally good. It did take a little longer to get my food than I would have expected given how dead it was, but not outrageously so. Finally, regarding the location itself, things were clean, but the space was neither comfortable nor inviting. It looks like they'd started some kind of renovation and left it only a third done. Thus, while not horrible-terrible, the experience at this location was underwhelming. There's no shortage of Taco Bells in the Chicagoland area; thus, when the occasional craving strikes, this one will not get a return visit from me.

I came in about an hour before closing because I was starving and specifically craving Chipotle. When I got to the line, the employee told me there was no rice. Then they looked over at the cook in the back, who looked back like, yeah no, I'm not making any more. For a company this big to not have rice an hour before closing is honestly ridiculous. What made it worse wasn't just the lack of rice it was the inconvenience and the way it was handled. I wouldn't have even cared that much if it hadn't meant I now had to leave, find another place to eat, and wait even longer while already hungry. The whole interaction felt dismissive and awkward, and one of the workers kept looking at me in a way that made the situation uncomfortable. After leaving, it hit me that if I had placed an online order, I probably wouldn't have been told any of this ahead of time. That just added to the frustration. Overall, I felt bullshitted.
