Located in a corner lot with private parking, this cozy cafe offers a decent selection of boba, smoothies and snacks. And there is plenty of indoor seating if you want to stay and enjoy your meal. I went for my usual go-to for my visit, Passion Fruit Green Tea w/ boba. The drink was nice and sweet, and the boba had a good consistency to it. Being conveniently close to Costco, I plan to make this my go-to boba stop moving forward during my Costco runs.

The first couple bites were good but the more I ate the more I didn't like it and thought it was okay. The strawberry wasn't sweet but was sour. I didn't finish the bingsu and ate only about 15-20% Hibiscus Strawberry Tea 3/5 I didn't really taste the strawberry and thought it was mostly watered down. Ambience 3/5 Plenty of parking outside. Tables are a little dirty that I wiped it down. The cashier area was pretty dusty when ordering and grabbing utensils. Service 4/5 Staff seem to be friendly. It's very minimal since it's ordering then self serving. The order did take pretty long considering there was only a couple other folks inside. I would suggest be very careful when picking up your tray with bingsu because it tends to slide around the tray very easily. I almost dropped mine but luckily didn't. The place is a bit small, with claw machines and a small area where they sell merchandise. Ordering is simple via a kiosk. The menu here is unique, meaning that the one in pleasant hill is mainly different than here. I like my roasted milk tea at PH, but I couldn't find it here. Instead, I opted for the Mango Flamingo. Mango Flamingo: Mango green tea with Hibiscus on top. This was a rather floral and delicious drink. The mango portion of the tea was not too sweet and the hibiscus was a nice addition. The mango star jelly added the extra sweetness I liked to complete the drink. Overall, finally nice to try it in person and if I am around the area, looking forward to trying more.

This was my first time visiting them again since the ownership change so it's been a minute. What I see here now is just depressing, not just because the place was empty, but it's now devoid of anything that felt like a spot someone would want to hangout at. No music, when I got in there was one person waiting for their food and nobody was even at the front counter for minutes before somebody finally came out from the back. Ordering is just through the kiosk now, which isn't a bad thing. The part that was really rough was the reason why I even came here; the boba. I got a regular milk tea which now they only have a single size. I miss the extra large size they used to have, but oh well. The next issue comes with how much the boba actually costs. They may have gotten rid of the extra large cup sizes, but they're still charging the almost the same amount for it in a much smaller cup. What a deal, right? And we get to the actual drink. When the person making the drink after receiving your order finishes within a minute of making it, it's never a good sign. Why is that? Well, they had premade jug of milk tea ready to pour out for your tasting pleasure. When you have a premade jug of milk tea, it's never a good sign. While I've had them at other places that have done this before, and it's ranged from bad to mediocre, the one here at Milk Tea Lab, now, was in a word, rancid. It was incredibly gross with absolutely no redeeming qualities to it. I generally try not to be so harsh, but this was really not it and I couldn't even finish the boba because of how bad the milk tea was. It's sad to see how big of a dropoff this spot has become compared to what it used to be. This isn't like when they first opened where there were only 2-3 boba spots right next to them. Now there's at least a handful of options within a few minutes away, and dozens of spots within a mile or two, and this is what they're pushing out? It's a shame but this Milk Tea Lab which was their starter store is no longer a place I would ever go back to for boba. It's time is now past with this new ownership.

She must've misheard me when I said, oat milk, cause she started using whole milk after I ordered. I told her I have dairy sensitivities. And she said that is the only milk that she had. But this was after I paid for the drink... i've never had a problem at other locations with no other dairy options. ...there was also barely any Boba and half the drink was red bean. Very disappointed. I must've been fourth in line after a family, and three other customers were served before me. If you have dairy sensitivity, DO NOT come here. I do not recommend it. The drink was surprisingly not too sweet--which isn't a bad thing--but I personally would've preferred a sweeter flavor profile to better match the traditional Halo-Halo flavor. It's pretty straightforward: you choose your ingredients and customize your box however you like. My go-to is a small box (two scoops) with salmon and spicy tuna, cucumber, jalapeño, edamame, green onions, mango, ginger and two crab meat scoops. I usually mix spicy mayo, poke sauce, and ponzu for the sauce, and it's always delicious! I've also tried their matcha drinks, and the mango matcha is definitely my favorite. The strawberry one has a good flavor, but I find it a little more bland compared to the mango. Overall, 5/5!
