Found these guys on Yelp and I'm glad I did. GPS sent me across the street to HT auto but someone pointed me the right direction. A kid ran out and had me pull in from the other direction. When I called the shop for an appointment, I was fortunate to get in on the same day, in which I was placed at ease due to the owner's professional business practices of greeting me upon my arrival with genuine concern that my smog test wouldn't take long, and I could stand nearby to watch the testing. I truly appreciate and value the owner's care, professionalism, updated computerized testing equipment, great conversationist, compassionate, and commitment to ensure my experience was worry-free, and done with care and efficiency. Upon passing my smog test, I was offered various means to pay for the service, in which I was given a receipt for my payment and a printout of my car's specifications, and, that my car had past my smog test. I brought my truck in for a…read moreroutine diesel inspection, and the technician refused to test it based on completely incorrect assumptions. He claimed that my downpipe, intercooler, and wastegate were aftermarket, even though all components are 100% factory stock. He insisted that these parts required CARB EO numbers, despite the fact that they are original ford equipment. the only modification on my exhaust is a 4-inch system after the catalytic converter, which is fully legal in California and requires no EO number. This is easy to verify by simply looking under the truck and comparing the larger aftermarket tail section to the stock unmodified 3.5 inch factory downpipe. The technician did not take the time to properly verify anything. he was dismissive, rushed, and unwilling to listen or provide clear information. Instead of performing an accurate visual inspection, he refused the test. To be sure i went to another certified star smog station the same day. The technician there immediately recognized all of my components as stock, knew the correct regulations and passed my truck with flying colors . This experience shows lack of training, knowledge and professionalism at this location. Costumers rely on smog shops to understand regulations and inspect vehicles accurately. Unfortunetly, that did not happen when I went to California Smog.
