I was really hungry for a burger, fries, and a shake. I was staying near Evergreen. It was after dark and I used Yelp to locate a restaurant. The interior, atmosphere, and location of the restaurant were soothing and charming. I did get a burger w/ bacon, fries, and a shake. Everything was good. Not great. The shake was not dressed up with whipped cream or anything and came several minutes after my food. What was a shock was the bill. My meal (single patty burger, fries, and standard size shake) was $25. The shake alone was $8. Frankly, i thought $15 would be a big price for the meal and was shocked that it was $25. My family is in town visiting my wife's parents, who brought us to this little gem. It's a small size but worth the wait. The service was fantastic. Even though they were slammed and had a ton of to-go orders, they still got our party of 5 in within 15 minutes, and food was equally as fast. And while fast, it did not sacrifice how great everything tasted. I wish I could remember our server's name, but both she, the hostess, and the bartender were all friendly and on top of everything. I haven't tried every restaurant in Evergreen, but I can guarantee this is one of the best. Their menu is eclectic and sophisticated, but the prices are right. The drink menu is also lovely, with plenty to choose from. I had the Black Lavender, which had Bear Creek Wheat Vodka, Muddled Blackberries, Lime, Lavender Flower, Lemongrass, and Champagne. It was so tasty. For apps we started with the Brussels Sprouts with lemon, truffle and parmesan. There wasn't much truffle flavor, but they were still good. Next we had the Nori Seared Ahi Sashimi Wonton Tacos with Cucumber Namasu, Sweet Ginger Wasabi Aioli, Guacamole, Sriracha Drizzle. I absolutely LOVED them. For dinner I had the Dirty Frenchman Burger. It had Triple Creamed Brie Cheese, Grilled Green Apples, Agave Poha Berry Syrup, Baby Arugula & Red Onion Marmalade. I had it made with local Elk, and I loved that you could choose what meat you want. For dessert we had the Bread Pudding, and the texture was PHENOMENAL. It was spectacular. So glad to know that this restaurant sits at the base of the hill my family lives on. I can't wait to return! read more

Got a patio seating since we had a dog. Sat near a running creek. View was beautiful. The service was ok. They explained they were short handed but our server was very friendly. Food was average. Had 2 burgers. Extremely messy. Too many ingredients in one burger. Very hard to eat. Sweet potato tots was just ok. Highlight was my chocolate shake with peanut butter cookies but again it was very messy oozing all over the sides and she explained they had no plates left to catch all the drippings. Have been coming here for years every time I visit Evergreen from out of state, and the food is always great! Stopped by last week to order my favorites, the citrus grilled chicken plantain nachos and the Mexican chopped salad. The salad was amazing but the nachos were a little too burnt this time. After dinner ordered milkshakes, the nutty wiseman and a plain vanilla. Got the shakes to go and definitely regret it, they seemed much smaller and not worth $8, especially a plain vanilla for that price. read more

Holy foodness! Visited Murphy's after the Evergreen Summerfest and I'm so thankful I did! We were immediately greeted by Nancy, whose recommendations were spot on. If you're wanting something refreshing, try the Blackberry Blitz featuring freshly muddled blackberries. The chili cheese chingadera is addicting ... seriously though, go with the sweet potato tots. If you are wanting something light and fresh, order the grilled tiger shrimp salad. My husband isn't a fish for but raved about the Pecan dried black cherry crusted Scottish salmon. Cooked to perfection. Will absolutely be visiting again They can get busy with the weekend lunch rush, so try getting in about 11:30 or a touch earlier. read more

There's a combination of indoor and outdoor seating, but hey -- it's December in Colorado, so obviously no one was sitting outside. Our waitress was pleasant and attentive. The plantain chips were topped with a combination of pineapple and mango salsa, chicken, creamy sauce, and more -- I enjoyed how Murphy's Mountain Grill elevated this humble favorite and gave it a unique interpretation. My main dish was the Dirty Frenchman burger with chicken breast instead of a burger patty. This item was good overall, but there was a slight burnt taste (not sure if it was the bun or another component) that kind of marred the overall appeal of the dish for me. Unfortunate. Husband and brother-in-law both opted for the spare ribs dish, which is one of the most expensive offerings on the menu. The portion wasn't huge, was smaller than your average American megahuge dish, but it worked because we split an appetizer. The dish got these two to both eat beets!!! Willingly! Service was attentive and prompt. The food was good. We started with the plantain nachos. FYI these don't taste anything like regular nachos -- it has fruit and chicken, for example, instead of ground beef and nacho cheese -- but it worked. We devoured every last morsel of this dish. The spare ribs had good flavor and were soft & tender. This dish was nicely elevated with a mustard seed sauce and yellow beets. I usually don't like beets, but these beets were good! Tonight's special was a NY Strip with hominy and Brussels in an Asian Mexican fusion celebration of flavor that can only be described as SCRUMPTIOUS! Even my 12-year-old daughter loved it! Let me start off by saying the food was phenomenal! The Murph was one of the best burgers I've ever had, plus the Ahi Sashimi Tacos were an amazing start to our meal. The restaurant itself is very quaint, with a nice rustic feel to it. And being right near the open patio on such a nice day was a definite plus. I have been here twice and enjoyed the meal, the service and the view of the river. The first time there were 5 of us-and a baby and tried a variety of dishes plus a yummy milkshake. Everything from a veggie sandwich to a salad, a Ruben and ahi tuna tacos. We also had sweet potato taters. The alcoholic drinks were pretty tasty. The second time there were three of us plus the baby. The salmon was delicious as was the Ruben and chicken pasta dish. I know we would go hack just just fir a great meal. read more

I'd leave ZERO stars if I could. We drove up from Denver to enjoy a late Saturday lunch on the deck. The hours on the website (and on Yelp) say its open from 11 AM til 9 PM, as does the sign next to the door. We arrived at 3:00 only to be shooed away by the hostess, who informed us that they aren't open (but we could come back at 4). Meanwhile, we watched seated tables being served. The DJ/musician playing apparently didn't get the memo, either, as he continued right on playing. While writing this, I'm watching an outside table being served. Very frustrating that Murphy's can't be bothered to respect its patrons enough to keep accurate hours on its web site, on Yelp, and on its front door. Boo on you, Murphy's. read more

The food was nothing special and burgers missed the mark and were returned for a do-over due to being too rare when asked to be cooked medium to well done. The order of plantain nachos were burned and had to be redone and took longer because of this. Even the less burned ones that made it to the table were very burned. Parking was overly expensive in inconvenient lots and they do not validate. Street parking, which is free of charge was difficult to find. Not very crowded due to winter time and middle of the week. The guy was super nice when we got there and when we gave our order...but once we got the food, we didn't see him again- I had to ask for more soda and condiments from a different waitress. The original waiter brought our check but then we didn't see him again- we waited for him to come back and get the card until we finally just got up and found what appeared to be a register and asked if we were supposed to pay there or pay the waiter. The food was good though...my burger had some super pink spots, which I didn't like. The fries were ok- a couple of super hard ones that I couldn't even bite.
