Shrimp Poboy and Baked Sweet Potato
    Matthew C.

Had delivery and absolutely loved it! The shrimp Po' Boy was fantastic...soft bread, bigger shrimp, perfectly breaded with generous lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and pickles to add as desired. The mayo was light and could always use more shrimp but overall it is a terrific classic! The shrimp and crab gumbo needed no hot sauce or sprucing up of any kind, perfect flavor and consistency. The only thing that could have been better is if the same deveined shrimp used for the po' boy we're in the gumbo. Overall, strongly recommended and would love to explore other items on the menu as soon as possible!

I'm literally had everything on the menu and it's always delicious, the server Josh was super cool and funny as heck it's always a vibe at Murphys

Eh is really all I have to say to this place. Food was ok and the salad bar I added to my entree was fine but I do think it is a little overpriced. Me and my husband have passed this multiple times while dropping my brother off to southeastern so we stopped in this time. We were seated quickly and the server was really nice. It was the quality of the food that got me. We shared a seafood platter but if your really hungry that might not be enough for two to share. My husband tried the crab cake I think it was and I've never seen him get rid of something so fast before. He said it tasted freezer burnt and it was not good at all. Seafood should not taste freezer burnt especially in Louisiana. My drink tasted like juice more than anything which sucks but maybe the bartender may be the only issue with that. Overall it was average but don't think we will be back with the options around the area.

A nice family oriented seafood restaurant. You are treated with a friendly smile by the hostess and left in great hands with your server. You recieve prompt, courteous service from the get-go. Now it wasn't very busy or crowded at the time so, I couldn't tell you what kind of service you would get when the place is packed. It was myself, my wife and our daughter stopping in for lunch. We all started with the endless salad bar. Our daughter had the crawfish etouffee (and most Louisianans are very peculiar about their etouffee's) this had great flavor and tastes great. My wife had the grilled catfish which came with a baked potato that she said was flavorful and cooked to perfection. I had the catfish Daniel which is fried catfish topped with crawfish etouffee. This was awesome. Needless to say, we left no room for dessert and you definitely get your money's worth.

All I can say is "WOW" Our son graduated from Southeastern university "Lion up" and had no idea about his awesome restaurant in Hammond. Yelpalicious is an understatement. Nice place, decor is nice, food fantastic. Great salad bar complete with marinated artichoke, pasta salad and potato salad top with homemade dressings. Ordered their "homemade" meatballs off appetizer menu and they were as advertised by our incredible waitress Kaitlin. Best meatballs ever! And then we ordered artichoke and crab soup. I have had soup and bisque all over the US and this is tops. Unbelievable consistency, taste, lots of crab meat and we had to have a second bowl. Seconds came with soup and salad. A great dining experience without expensive prices. Service was great. Highly recommend and will be back for sure.

Crab and Artichoke soul. Rich and delicious

Babyyyyy let me tell y'all... I would have gone out HAPPY Saturday night after eating here and that…read moreis NOT an exaggeration ‍ From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere was so peaceful and welcoming. And can we talk about the music?! Christian music playing the whole time -- that's all we listen to, so my son was over there having his own little concert knowing every word lol. It just felt GOOD in there. Now listen... they were BUSY busy (Saturday night, so we expected that), and we were starvingggg, so we skipped the appetizers -- which honestly hurt my feelings a little because they sounded SO good And I HAVE to shout out the server/owner -- because baby, my dad is 80 years old and will talk to ANYBODY about ANYTHING. When I say they handled him like a pro... I mean patient, kind, laughing with him, never rushing him off -- just truly good people. If you know, you know Let's get into the food though I ordered the BBQ bacon cheeseburger (no onions) with fries... AND a fresh squeezed lemonade that was absolutely BOMB ‍ Like refreshing, perfect, not too sweet -- I could've had about three of those, easy My dad got the surf & turf burger, my sister got a regular burger, my brother-in-law had the crawfish étouffée with fried catfish, and my son got chicken fingers. We did have a bit of a wait, but honestly it gave us time to sit, talk, and enjoy being together -- no complaints there BUT BABY... when that food hit the table... Not. One. Word. Except "OMG this is the best thing I've ever eaten!!!" That burger?!?! I'm not even kidding -- I would request that as my LAST MEAL. It was THICK, juicy, cooked perfectly. The bacon? Crispy perfection The sourdough bun? Soft, fluffy, just holding everything together like it was sent from Heaven The BBQ sauce wasn't overpowering -- just right. AND let me say this... I am the DIPPING SAUCE QUEEN I normally need ranch, ketchup, something on the side at all times... but this burger?! I didn't touch a single sauce. Not ONE. It stood on its own and didn't need a thing I did not stop eating until it was GONE. No to-go box. No shame. No regrets. I usually can't even finish a burger anywhere, but this one?? I couldn't put it down. And when I tell you EVERYONE cleaned their plates -- I mean EVERY. SINGLE. PERSON. Even my son, who is VERY picky about his "chicken nuggets," was tearing those chicken fingers UP and talking about how good they were So will I be back? ABSOLUTELY. Will I recommend it? Already have ‍ Will I start a petition (or boycott ) if they ever take that burger off the menu? Don't test me. Also... sorry there are no pictures We turned into straight feral animals the second that food hit the table 10/10 -- run, don't walk.

We were brought flat cokes, then asked for tea instead, that was brought out warm with little ice that melted before it even cooled the tea. Service needs so much improvement, especially during lunch hours, can't even fault the gal working, she was by herself. The building could also use a good cleaning, it's super cute otherwise. So much potential here and I hope it improves.

his is what a real Louisiana seafood place is supposed to be…read more There is nothing on this menu that isn't a hit. Not one weak link. That's rare. The catfish po-boys are the real deal -- actual catfish, perfectly seasoned, fried right, and served on real New Orleans French bread, not that grocery-store knockoff so many places try to pass off. Every bite tastes like someone in the kitchen actually cares. The boiled seafood is consistently spot-on, which tells you everything you need to know about the kitchen. Anyone who's ever peeled an over-soaked shrimp knows how unforgiving boiling seafood is -- timing matters. And they nail it every time. Shrimp peel clean, seasoning penetrates without overpowering, and nothing is waterlogged or mushy. This is a place that understands: Ingredients matter Technique matters Consistency matters No shortcuts. No gimmicks. Just well-executed Louisiana food done the right way. If you want seafood you can trust -- this is it.

This place also serves up a limited Cajun Menu which had outstanding food from what I could see...we stopped for fresh seafood to take home. The prices can't be beat by any change grocery store!! We picked up 15lbs of 16-20 shrimp, frozen red fish slabs, boil seasoning, 4 blue crabs (medium and large), French bread loaf, corn, Cajun pickles and some dipping sauces. This place is busy and looks to be chaos but it's far from that...you can get fresh seafood, supplies, drinks, and just about anything you need for a boil. The staff even gave us ice to pack up our purchases to take north. Really enjoyed the time in the line to visit with other customers and take in the place. The ambiance is like a store/restaurant/market where everything is for sale! Didn't take any pictures but when you walk in the door you know you are in a hometown place where people know each other!! The seafood potato, which we paired with fried fish on the side, was incredible. The cheese sauce was creamy, and the crawfish sauce had plenty of crawfish and shrimp--every bite had something in it. It was well seasoned and very flavorful. The wrecked potato was loaded down with roast beef, a good amount of gravy, and at least 12 shrimp on top. The meat was tender, the gravy was rich, and everything was seasoned perfectly. The jazzy potato came with onions, bell peppers, queso sauce, and a drizzle of sweet chili. It had just the right amount of balance between savory and sweet. The shrimp on this one were also cooked and seasoned really well. The portions at Stuffed are huge--you will probably need to take some home. The restaurant itself has plenty of seating, a nice family-friendly atmosphere, and a host to greet you at the door. There's also a separate area for takeout orders, which made picking up our food very easy. The staff were polite, friendly, and made sure everything came out hot and fresh. Overall, Stuffed offers big portions, bold flavors, and great service. It's a perfect spot for families or groups, and the food definitely lives up to the name.

How the mighty fall. Mariner's Inn used to be one of my top 3 favorite restaurants in Hammond…read more Apparently the restaurant has changed hands, and the new direction it has taken disappoints me. The sports bar aspect of the business has been emphasized and the food quality diminished. The food isn't bad, but it's certainly not the standout it used to be. For example, the hamburger steak entre I ordered was okay, but it was $12 for the patty covered in gravy and mushrooms, one side, and "garlic bread." My side was plain rice - no extra brown gravy on it, despite my request - and the garlic bread strips were small. I suppose everything these days is expensive, but it felt underwhelming. I also ordered a cup of the soup of the day: shrimp and corn. My former favorite - I used to visit specifically for that dish - it's now best described as unmemorable. The service was friendly and fine, despite some mistakes. With one room now basically dedicated to the bar and pool tables, there's a more noticeable "sports bar" vibe, though I don't think there were a bunch of TVs in the dining area? I wasn't really paying attention to that. If you're looking for a place to play pool, drink, and eat something decent, sure, this is still a good bet. But if you're just looking to go out and have a great meal in Hammond, Mariner's Inn no longer makes the recommendation list.
