I always get a salmon avocado roll & and a few pieces of sashimi. If I'm super hungry you can't go wrong with the chirashi bowl here which is the best deal you're going to get. As far as the "grill" items, I'm not the biggest fan of the chicken but I love the veggie skewer. Oh Musashi's, how I love thee! Before I get into my review, I have to let you all know, it's CASH or check only, so make sure to bring the green! Whenever I'm craving for sashimi or sushi at an affordable price on the Eastside, I'm always going to Musashi. Most of the time, I can never get passed ordering the Chirashi Bowl when I'm by myself. There's so much fish and rice, it makes for a hearty lunch or dinner. Did you know you could customize or substitute out certain fish as well? Usually, I'll ask to substitute out the albacore for Seared Salmon. For $15.50, the Chirashi Bowl is a good value. I had a discussion with one of my friends about this and I probably will continue paying for this until they raise it up to $18. That's probably my cutoff point. Other than the Chirashi Bowl, they also make really good sushi rolls as well. Whenever I'm with friends, we order sushi rolls and nigiri to share for the table. I highly recommend two of their specials, the Chu Toro Nigiri and the Musashi Roll, California Roll topped with Spicy Tuna, Flying Fish Roll, Green Onion, and House Spicy Mayo. The House Spicy Mayo is creamy and tangy and goes really well with the California Rolls. The Chu Toro is the fatty tuna as advertised. Definitely silkier in flavor than other tuna sashimi. It's worth ordering. Granted, the quality of fish at Musashi's isn't as high as the other high end sushi spots in Seattle. However, your wallet won't feel it as much. There were about ten tables with metal chairs. Music was playing and the small area they have was lined around the walls with the tables. The sushi rolls were pretty dry so they lose a star for that. I was fairly surprised to find this little sushi gem on my visit to Seattle. The service, quality and price exceeded my expectations. We were seated as soon as we walked into the door and complimentary hot tea was provided. The food is ordered in the front and paid at the same time. The bentos came with chicken on a skewer and beef on a skewer, rice, and some sad looking sashimi (3 pieces). Although we ordered a total of 8 dinners, they told us we could only have 6 tiny containers of spicy Mayo. CHEAPSKATES! Let's talk about the Bentos. The meat on both dinners looked so dry, I was afraid to try it. Well, I did try it and practically choked on the meat. It was sooo dry, a cactus wouldn't survive if that meat was desert sand. One of my favorite--if not my favorite--places for sushi! I went to Musashi's with my mom for lunch on a Thursday noon, and we were surprised to find a lot of empty seats and booths open. Normally, I've found Musashi's always packed, but it was nice to be immediately seated. Atmosphere is cozy--tight, small space, wooden furniture. Service is fine--nothing special. Honestly servers were not extraordinarily welcoming in anyway, so I'd say service is average. Aside from the above, however, the food is what really shines through. Lunch and dinner both have a plethora of simple, no-fluff options that are generous in portion and delicious. I ordered the salmon and spicy tuna maki (only $3.50 each!), while my mother ordered a Chirashi Bowl ($15.50). The food is very large in size, and the Chirashi Bowl is customizable which makes it even better. HUGE FISH PORTIONS. Definitely worth every penny. I was full after those two rolls, and you can taste the freshness and quality of the food. Overall, food is definitely a 11/10--amazing taste, portions, and prices. Service is average (food served very quickly which is great, but didn't feel exactly welcomed like an average restaurant). I don't think I've ever seen sushi and sashimi this big, ever: three bite sushi. Easy ordering, easy to find restaurant. Fast and helpful service. Line moved quickly. Not so great: Inedible beef teriyaki for the non-fish-eater (blackened, impossibly chewy, and cold); they ended up just eating the rice. Miso soup was also cold, not yummy, and tossed. Consider trying this place because it's inexpensive for fair-quality sushi. Located in Factoria Village mall, there's lots of parking. There are very few seats, the service is usually efficient if not always friendly, the sushi is inconsistent in quality, rolls are cut unevenly, and the rolls often unravel. Despite the flaws, we like the chirashi bowl, salmon and avocado rolls, CA rolls, and unagi-maki. I tried the BLT roll - it's like a tuna salad roll, and I liked the crunch of lettuce but wet tomato has no place in rolled sushi. I've been coming here for years whenever I'm in Bellevue pretty much annually. It's seriously the best deal out there in the PNW. The original location in Wallingford, Seattle is just as amazing. Go for the Chirashi bowls as most yelpers have already suggested. One benefit is you can customize it however you like. I like mine to include at least half all salmon, the other half all seared salmon. When I bring my friends they usually get the original. The crab salad is also amazing with clear noodle pieces that make it taste so yummy. They also offer great sashimi like seared sake, hamachi and fatty tuna (my faves!) and awesome sushi rolls! Parking is a bit tough in both Seattle and Bellevue locations. Seattle, gotta find street parking but the Bellevue location is located in a small plaza, tucked away. Still difficult to find parking at times during peak hours and the plaza parking might get full. Definitely worth it though! read more

Tucked away on the side of a main strip mall, Musashi is a very small store with quite a lot of good quality sushi to offer. I came here with 2 other people on Tuesday for lunch and there was still a wait. There are approx. 15 tables total in the restaurant, mostly seating up to party of 4. My friends and I each ordered a chirashi bowl and a beef and a chicken skewer to share. What I liked about this place is they let you customize the type of fish you can put on the bowl. I opted for broiled eel, salmon belly, and tuna. Their sushi slices are very thick, so each bite was full and juicy. Their salmon belly was very soft and tuna tasted fresh also. For the price, I thought it was very fair. I wish there were more embellishments such as mushrooms or miso soup, etc. However you can't ask for much and this place definitely has the basics down. In college I was a regular at the Wallingford location but never made it this way due to fears of traffic and a long wait time, but one day I came in close to closing time and was treated to the most fresh, delicious chirashi bowl... The salmon, albacore, tuna and yellow tail were generously sized and sliced, rice was cooked and seasoned perfect and the fish just melted in my mouth...of course the scallops, roe and shrimp were good too, but I was impressed at the quality and cut of fish we were given, especially that close to closing...and I was thinking about the fish for hours afterwards.
