Our first time coming to this restaurant. Saw on the menu they serve Himachi Kama so had to try it. It was delicious! It doesn't come with rice so had to order the rice separately. I also ordered a chicken karaage for the table. That was good too, but a bit dry. Might have been better with some kind of a dipping sauce. Husband ordered the udon noodle soup in curry. He liked it. My brother ordered Tongkatsu. Just had that couple days ago. He likes it. Service was a little slow, but the restaurant was crowded. The place was clean. Typical Japanese decor but tastefully done. This is a good lunch spot in Factoria. I had the Makunouchi bento, which is their signature lunch. This bento came with a little of everything including sashimi, Tamago, 3 pieces of Kappa & Tekka Maki,fish, chicken teriyaki, panko breaded salmon, shrimp and special veggies. I do favor a good bento box, so I can sample a wider variety of food. My co-worker ordered the Special Bento with chicken teriyaki, which she was happy with. We also ordered the Assorted Tempura to share and realized that was unnecessary given both bentos came with either tempura prawns and veggies or fried seafood. Food came out quickly. The service got very terrible than before. We have a party of 5. The waiter/waitress keep coming back every couple of minutes asking for orders right after we sat down. The restaurant only filled with ~30% occupancy. We're not sure why they are so hurry. When dishes were out and we're eating, the waiter/waitress seem keep watching us whenever we finish our plates and come right away to take our plates out; even at one time we need to stop the waitress immediately from taking our salad dish that hadn't been all done yet! They kept doing this back and forth for over 7 or 8 times! Why can't they wait at the end???? Their acts are very annoying and disturbing that it's hard to enjoy our dinner. At the end of course they delivered the bill right away, and added 18% tips automatically - which we thought it is for 6 or up, but we forget it anyway. But the last rudeness thing they did is after we paid the bill, they turned on A/C cold and direct toward our table! This is winter come on!! What's going on??? Is this the way they kick customer out as soon as possible!!!!!! That act is just purely insane and out of their mind!!!! Thinking more and more, we finally did realize they didn't treat other customers like what they treated us! And becoz those customers are Japanese!!!!!! And we are Chinese! We believe this restaurant hates Chinese people becoz of recent situations between China and Japan. But if this restaurant is trying to discriminate Chinese using this nasty and dirty acts, they will eventually get backfired and will face repercussions. This restaurant is average, which isn't bad but compared to everything else around the area - it suffers. I think the food was good but the service was so not good that it left a bad taste in my mouth. The waiter only came by to take our order, deliver our food, and then bring us the check. Waiter didn't even bring us utensils when we got our food nor notice that we didn't have soy sauce on our table. No refills for our drinks or checking in on us. Late post: We came back a couple more times since our last visit. Tried other offerings from their menu and decided to upgrade my review. This review is based on 2 visits: Sashimi Dinner - 15 pcs assortment of sashimi -- salmon, tuna, hamachi albacore, and two other (sorry, can't remember, but see picture). Seafood Tempura - Assortment of seafood deep fried -- shrimp, scallops, and fish. Nice crunch and not oily. Delicious! Tokyo Special - 2 Tuna, Sweet Shrimp, Whitefish, Yellowtail, Squid, Ikura, Clam Sushi and California roll. Tempura roll - Shrimp Tempura, crab meat, radish sprouts, and avocado drizzled with Eel sauce and Masago. Tonkatsu - Pork cutlet, lightly breaded and deep fried. Nicely cooked, not oily. Omakase NIgiri - Master Chef's choice of 3 course meal with premium nigiri (8 pcs), and Sashimi (4 pcs), comes with miso soup. Food and service were great during both visits. We still have our favorite sushi place, but this place will do if you're craving for sushi at a reasonable price. read more

Lovely little spot in Factoria! Really nice interior which I was surprised about based on the outside and the fact that it's near a grocery store. Tucked away in the plaza on Factoria Blvd in Bellevue you can find this little worthwhile gem. We stopped in after a movie (AMC across the street makes this a convenient stop afterwards). There was no line and several open tables but there were quite a few people dining already. We were greeted and seated quickly, allowed our choice of table by the corner window. There is no full bar or drink menu but they serve wine beer and sake. The sushi was good. My date is new to sushi and enjoyed it thoroughly so it was a win. The Unagi was fresh and tasty, and the salmon was absolutely smooth and delicious. For dinner, I ordered their combination bento with salmon teriyaki and mixed tempura. Their dinner combo comes with miso soup, rice, and a salad. Their salmon was soft, cooked to the right temperature and was not drenched in over powering teriyaki sauce. Their tempura was outstanding! I was craving on Soba and I am glad I found soba noodle at Tokyo! We made a reservation on Saturday night around 7pm. I was so excited when I saw shishamo on the menu! Soba: it was average soba and noodle was perfectly cooked. Ika ichiyaboshi: I hope they put more sauce after they grilled ika, but ika was very soft and hot! Curry udon: little bit spicy and lots of white onions. I love onions, and noodle was also cooked perfectly. Shishamo: it wasn't crispy enough, but I enjoyed the fish. It has been more than 10years since I had shishamo, so I finished it very quickly. Yum! We enjoyed everything, but our entree came first and appetizer arrived 5-10min later. All dishes came at the same time, so if you'd like to slowly enjoy their each dish, I recommend you to tell them ahead not to bring everything at the same time. I've driven by this place a thousand times and finally tried it tonight. I wish I hadn't waited so long! The food was incredible. We started with asparagus salad and it was perfectly cooked and not stringy. The tempura vegetables were cooked perfectly (often they come undercooked) and the portion was generous. We loved our rolls(I didn't expect the citrus roll to be so delicious!) and will definitely be back. The atmosphere is intimate and the shared seating was really cool. Would definitely recommend to any Japanese food enthusiast because it's not just sushi. They have udon and bento options as well. read more

We have had both dine in and takeout here before. If you are planning on giving them a try, I would recommend takeout. Service is a bit snooty and rude, but the food is exceptional. Pictured below are unagi roll and seared salmon roll. The fluffy sushi rice is the best I've ever had. And I've had a lot of sushi in the states, in japan, in korea, in vietnam, etc. etc......Unagi is extra umami and so is the salmon. Service could do better. On our most recent visit with a party of 9, they came and cleared all our utensils and plates and left us without utensils to eat with so we had to get up and track down another server. Not really sure what that was all about and definitely not excusable considering the prices are bordering fine dining prices at 20- 30 bucks per roll. Its still worth it if you want good sushi, I just recommend takeout....2.5 stars bumped up to three only because they could easily be 4 or 5 stars. read more

Man it feels like either some days my food comes quick or its pretty lost. Today I picked up the food and ate it. So I ordered the Chicken Udon and the Salmon Bento. The chicken udon's broth was perfect, nicely done but the chicken was sooo dry. It felt like I was eating a rock. How can you overcook the chicken that much in udon? Doesn't the broth soak up the chicken. The noodles were really chewy (in a good way) and soaked the broth well. The tempura was a bit soggy which is not good for tempura. Overall, if the service gets better I will consider coming back again read more

Tokyo is a decent spot for Japanese food but I wouldn't say it's the best Japanese spot on the East Side of Seattle. Located in the same plaza as QFC, you can't miss this place. Service is friendly and your food comes out fast. It wasn't that crowded when we came but they definitely spaced out the tables due to COVID restrictions. I got the dinner combo with chicken katsu and chicken teriyaki. The combo also comes with rice, miso soup and house salad. Picking a dinner combo allows you to try multiple things and there are a lot of options to choose from. I enjoyed my katsu and the sauce that accompanied it. However, I thought the chicken teriyaki was a bit dry, even with all of the teriyaki sauce on the plate. If you're looking for value, a dinner combo is definitely the route to go. read more

Cozy little Japanese restaurant in Factoria! Came here with a party of 5 at lunch time and was able to be seated right away. The menu is pretty extensive, so it took some time to review everything. :) I ended up ordering the Lunch Chirashi bowl. It was delicious! The rice alone tasted great as well, but the bowl only came with, I believe, 7 pieces of fish. In other restaurants I've gone to, the Chirashi bowl usually comes with many more pieces of fish. However, the bowl also came with some pickled veggies, which was a nice refreshing side. While the fish that was included in the bowl tasted fresh, I wish there were more pieces of fish especially for the price point. read more

Terrible service. I really hate when restaurants stagger the dishes between parties. We have the udon out first several minutes later one sushi roll several minutes later, Bento box. Person with Udonis done then the next sushi roll comes out. The servers would come and interrupt us to ask us if we're ready several times. I felt like we were being rushed. Then after the Odon was done and one sushi roll was done they brought the check even though not everyone was done eating!! I'd call that rude. An addition to the terrible service, the food is mediocre at best. No one was really happy with their food. And I got the vegetarian Bento box although I'm vegan, FYI the salad comes with mayo dressing. So, in summary, they really don't have any vegan options. read more
