You know what's nearly impossible to find in NYC? A weekday brunch spot that opens early, caters to remote creatives, and doesn't feel like a fluorescent-lit rush job. Enter Muse Café & Tea, a true unicorn on the Brooklyn grid. I showed up early on a weekday morning (before 8am!) with tablet in hand, a caffeine craving in my veins, and nowhere else in the borough that seemed remotely open, let alone inviting. But Muse was not just open, it was welcoming. The food? Legitimately great. I had one of their pressed sandwiches with egg, turkey, tomato, and greens, fresh, balanced, and beautifully layered between perfectly crusty bread. Even the side salad was colorful, crisp, and not just an afterthought. Espresso? Bold, smooth, satisfying. The atmosphere was exactly what I didn't know I needed: calm, clean, and warm. I could actually think here. Not a chaotic coworking circus, not a shout-over-the-music brunch party. Just quiet tables, early morning light, and staff who make you feel like you've been there before, even if you haven't. Also worth noting: the menu is way broader than your average café. From omelets and burritos to wraps, salads, and panini combos, you can show up hungry and indecisive and still leave happy. It's rare to find a spot that fills this specific gap: a weekday, early-open café that lets you eat well, caffeinate properly, and even get some work done before the rest of the city wakes up. Muse Café doesn't just get it--they built the whole thing around it.

Hungry Man Croissant Breakfast

I was craving a ham and cheese on a croissant and was happy to walk into Muse Cafe & Tea as they had a "hungry man croissant" which had ham, cheese, two eggs & avocado. It was so good! Their iced coffee was good as well, strong but not too bitter and not watered down!

Iced latte outside their shop

Great ice lattes for ~$5. Big cups for a small size compared to most Manhattan coffee shops. Latte was super smooth and creamy with a strong coffee taste. They also sell an assortment of pastries with typical American breakfast brunch options. Will like to try that some day! Lots of space outside and inside to chit chat. Great vibes in a cool area of park slope.

First and foremost, really good coffee! I love how there is plenty of space for seating, both indoor and outdoor, and the ambiance is very cute. Good service, we received our drink orders quickly and the staff were friendly. The pastries in the display case look phenomenal, but I have yet to try them. Most importantly, really tasty coffee, I have been here twice and I will be coming again!

Went in with a friend to get a cappuccino and matcha latte. Both drinks were excellent once again and served quickly! There's great indoor and outdoor seating options if you want to stick around. Really enjoy stopping by because they have curated a calming atmosphere at the cafe.

Breakfast Burrito

Lovely cafe in park slope. The staff are very friendly and pleasant. The food is very tasty and flavorful. Our favorite was the burrito. Plenty of outdoor seating and dog friendly, which is a huge plus for us.

Very cute, unassuming cafe in Park Slope! Pretty spacious with many tables and 2 long communal table. Seems like a great study spot as well (not sure about the number of outlets). The owner and staff were very nice and pleasant and spoke with us for a little bite. We had a lox sandwich and a breakfast croissant sandwich. My friend liked her lox sandwich and stated that the lox wasn't too salty, which she loved. The croissant sandwich was great! My other friend got a chocolate croissant and really enjoyed it as well! Everything was reasonably priced (especially for the neighborhood). Would definitely come here again for a casual breakfast, coffee, or friend catch-up! I'd have to see how often I come back and how consistent the food is to upgrade to a 5!

Ollie's Wrap

Been coming here for almost ten years. Cozy. Serene. Cute. Delicious. On a beautiful street. Indoor and outdoor seating a plenty. The garden wrap and my new favorite lox panini are staples of my every day cuisine. The folks running the place should win the Oscar for Best Cafe.

Nothing special. Needs a rebrand or something to make it stand out. Very basic, uninspired, but with prices that match much nicer spots.

She's been coming to their place sincemit was down the street and was a really small bakery/cafe. We'd never been and came here on her suggestion. It was fantastic choice. Walking in there were plenty of free tables on a Thursday morning, and we sat far from the front door on a cold winter day. The counter displaynofmcake, cookies and pastries is really gorgeous. Cousin John's offers table service with an extensive menu with omelets, pancakes, French toast and salad. Our server was helpful and very patient with us making our selections. I chose The Berkeley omelette which was pretty good. It came with a delicious salad and fried potatoes that weren't too greasy. Our group also ordered the build your own 3 egg omelette and avocado toast with 2 eggs on top. I also wanted to taste the French toast and I ordered 1 piece. It was all very tasty and satisfying, we left feeling really good. My black coffee was very good and my wife enjoyed her latte with almond milk. The price for our meal was reasonable. I'd highly recommend Cousin John's.
