To be honest with you, we came to this area to go to another restaurant but it ended up being closed on that day. So we took a stroll and stumbled on this restaurant after a few steps. I thought I reviewed Musiro years ago, but guess not. We've ate here several times and never had a bad meal. I enjoyed everything I've had so far. I've tried or had the steamed dumplings, japchae, grilled mackarel, fried flounder, bulgogi, bulgogi pot, la galbi, pollack soup, fish roe soup, hangover soup, kimchi soup, tteokbokki, ramyun, and stir fried spicy squid. They seem to specialize in tofu. I haven't tried any of the tofu dishes. I'll be trying those next. Love the banchan here. They give you about 8-9 dishes. read more

This place used to be called Tofu House but all I know is that they closed at one point and now their Musiro. I am not sure if they're the same owners or what, but it seems pretty much the same. The service might be a tad bit better now but it's still a typical Korean restaurant. There are booths so it's a more private feel of a meal. Pst, ring the bell if you need the server for anything. The soondooboo is the star of the show here (Tofu House, helloooo), delicious and the tofu is so soft. They have vegetarian, seafood, beef, and plenty more options. Really hits the spot when you're craving some good soondubu! This little restaurant is located right next to H-mart, and it is definitely the best tofu stew I've had in a while (I've been sad ever since my favorite place at Royal/35 closed temporarily and then changed management). A friend and I came here on a Saturday night, and luckily it wasn't too crowded. We waited a few minutes for a table. I really like how the booths are set up--the walls between the booths are really high, so it gives you a nice sense of privacy. I ordered the beef soondubu combo with kalbi. Everything was delicious. The banchan were fresh and plentiful, the soondubu was SO flavorful and had the perfect amount of spice for me, and the kalbi was tender and well-marinated. We had a good time, and I'll be back the next time I want some good tofu stew! read more

My favorite Korean restaurant when I'm in Dallas! (^o^) I always order the tofu stew (soondubu jigae), which has the most tofu per stew I've seen so far~ The tofu is super silky, and the stew is always flavorful, no matter if it's pork, seafood, etc. and it stays nice and hot in the stone bowl :) I always tell myself I have to order something other than the tofu stew, but it's just so good D: The side dishes (banchan) always make my day when they come out. There are many of them, and they're so cute and colorful, yay!~ Thankfully, there are always vegetables like seaweed, kimchi, broccoli, cucumbers. And for the anti-veggie people, there are also side dishes like potato salad (I don't count taters as veggies, hehe) and fish cake. I really enjoyed my lunch here. I ordered the sliced marinated beef and spicy tofu soup for about $15.99. The beef was soft and tender and the tofu soup was one of the better ones I've had. I enjoy cracking my own egg into the boiling hot soup. Banchan were all tasty and my favorites were the radish kimchi and the salty eggplant. Perfect lunch for a chilly afternoon. My only complaint was when I told the hostess I was eating alone, she nodded slowly and seated me as far back as she could, away from the rest of the customers. I came here with my uncle my family for the first time and it wasnt quite what I expected. The restaurant seemed really small and plane from the outside but once I entered; it completely threw me off. The korean restaurant was a lot nicer compared to the other competition located within walking distance. The staff provided good service and was pretty attentive. Personally, Im not a huge fan of soft tofu due to texture but I'll eat it anyways. I ordered the spicy soft tofu stew with pork and my cousin ordered the bi bim bop. Initially, I was craving the kimchi jige soup but the restaurant didnt offer it so I settled with the spicy soft tofu version. I feel as if the stew itself was missing more flavor and that "kimchi kick" to it. The bon chon wasnt as good being compared to Omi. My stew came with a raw egg which you were suppose to crack it yourself into the stew. I was able to try my cousin's bibimbop and I thought it was average overall. Im not really a big fan of bibimbops either. Overall: I dont think I will be returning to this restaurant unless my family or friends are absolutely dying to go eat here. You know this place is good if I went twice in one week!!! I went once by myself when I was sick with the flu. I wanted their spicy tofu soup. Sindubu is their specialty. The only complaint I have is that they don't make it spicy enough. I learned from my mistake and request it spicy for next time. They have a good variety of sindubu on their menu. From vegetarian, to just seafood or both. Even have some with meat. I've never had sindubu with meat before so I don't know if it's good. I can vouch for the seafood sindubu and it is the bomb!!! They have a combo special for lunch. You can get LA Galbi plus sindubu soup for $14.99. Sindubu soup alone is around $9. The portion of the meat will be smaller, of course. The tofu soup is supposed to come up bubbling hot so you can crack an egg in it to cook. She brought 1 of our soups out Luke warm without the egg so I asked where it was. She said she didn't bring it out because it would be unsafe since it's not hot enough. Told her my dumplings were cold too. The food got cold because she was too busy to bring it to us in time. My go-to order is the sogogi soondubu (beef Korean tofu stew). The tofu is a softer variety, so it's not going to be as firm if that's what you prefer. In addition to your tofu stew, you're also provided complimentary banchan dishes (think Korean appetizers). The banchan isn't always the same, but it includes staples such as kimchi, fish cake, marinated bean sprouts, broccoli, and japchae. For about $8.99 each, the soondubu includes rice, banchan, and an egg to crack into your soondubu, which is an extremely reasonable price. For the excellent taste and the abundance of food you receive, I can't harp on more about how great Musiro is. To be honest, Musiro is where I go to eat a little healthier after I splurge on not-as-healthy foods :X Service (3/5) Service is standard wait service. I think the coolest thing to note is the service button at each table. Koreans tend to value privacy during their dining experience, so the button is meant to only provide service to your table when you want it. Musiro really reminded me of my favorite korean place in Houston. That being said their tofu soup is absolutely delicious! It was the perfect amount of spicy. I had it with the seafood and it came with squid, clams, shrimp, and other goodies. The galbi was flavorful and came out sizzling. Their side dishes were pretty standard. I love the fish cake but their potatoes were more on the sweet side. The seafood pancake is a great appetizer or meal in itself. It was huge and it can easily be shared by 2-4 people! The sauce was amaaaaaazing. Ask for extra if you have any leftovers for to go. The pancake had way too much green onions and not enough seafood. But I would get it again and see if they could not put so many onions. at least. Service was okay. It wasn't great but wasn't bad either. There's a button you press if you need the waitress. When we pressed it, it sounded like a doorbell. A waitress came by just as she was passing but not because she heard the bell. The only bad thing I can really say is that I always get dduk (rice cakes) in my kimchi jjigae, which is a super easy thing to do and I don't mind paying extra. Instead of even asking if it could be done our server just told me no. She said it's not something they do. But they have them for other dishes so they could literally just drop a few in my soup. Bulgogi - BF's dish and he loved it. I tried it and yea, it was good, but I'm a kalbi loving girl. Musiro never disappoints us. We come here when we have a craving for Tofu Soup (soondubu) because they are the only Korean restaurant that we know of that has an entire menu page devoted to variations of this soup; and because they have some of the best versions of it, too. My particular favorite is the seafood version, with clams, mussels, shrimp, octopus and squid, along with the normal soft tofu; accompanied by a raw egg, intended to be added to the boiling hot soup and either stirred in, or left to poach for a while, it adds protein, flavor and texture. We also ordered the seafood pancake, a beef bulgogi bowl, and a spicy pork bowl. All were prepared perfectly and were delicious. The steamed mandu is a must try. It's by far the best mandu I have ever got from a restaurant in the US. It's huge for an appetizer. I can just have that and side dishes for dinner. This place is also known as a Tofu house. Fresh tofu is a specialty the Koreans and Japenese have mastered. The tofu stew is super delicious for a cold winter night or if you are sick (which is my case ;) I also ordered the cold noodles. Soba cold noodles are still my favorite but other than that I still don't get the cold noodle entrees. I love my food hot! My Korean friends love these dishes in the summer. read more

Musiro is conveniently located next to H-Mart. This place used to be the "To Dam Gol Tofu House". The owner is changed, but the interior is kept the same to a large extent with many familiar menu items of traditional Korean cuisine (soft tofu stew, bibimbap, meat, noodle, etc.). We came here many times. Initially there were some glitches- service button not working, one entrée arriving much earlier than the other, messing up the order, etc. However, they improved rapidly over time, and Musiro has become one of our favorite local restaurants! Food- Side dishes (banchan) are of average quality but are replenished quickly and generously. I love my bibimbap, especially with a little bit of preserved vegetable added beside other typical vegetables- super tasty!! The leek pancake (Buchu Jeon) is crispy and delicious; at $6.99, it is indeed a bang for the buck, since I often paid $10-$14 at other Korean restaurants asking no seafood in a "seafood pancake", as a vegetairan. My goodness how this place has fallen from its former glory. We ordered 3 tofu soups.. one soup came out extremely oily and without a normal taste. We sent it back to the kitchen only to be confronted by staff and Managment who seemed extremely annoyed at the fact that we wanted to exchange the oily soup with a normal one. The flavor profile of the food here has changed quite a bit! Not the same as before! We have been coming here for years, but unfortunate this will be our last visit! There are many other tofu houses with better flavor and prices! Eat at your own risk! The issue isn't with the inconsistency. Great spot in k-town for traditional Korean food. We ordered #15 Kimchi tofu stew (served in a stone pot) the perfect pick me up comfort food. Additionally, the leek pancake is very large, perfect for 3-4 people. Service is spectacular, we were checked on frequently, very caring staff. Tables are mostly private, as if you're in your own suite, though the door remained open on an 82° day, so it was a bit warm but nothing too bad. All spicy tofu soup come with rice in a stone pot. Price is on the cheaper side! I also highly recommend the spicy galbi jjim if you are not in the mood of soup. Banchan is super delicious too. The spicy pickled cucumbers are the best! Service can be really slow on busy days. One time, I came here for a Sunday lunch, and it took half an hour for my food to come out. I got the beef soft tofu soup, steamed dumplings, bul go gi and the Korean short ribs. It was all delicious! I did get the soup and bul go gi combo which was plenty of food for seconds and leftovers. Their dumplings is a must try. They are very generous on the size of it and it's all around scrumptious. It is a tad bit on the pricier side but I think it's worth getting something I enjoy. The service wasn't the best but it wasn't the absolute worst either. There is a call button at the table but it's useless because they don't pay attention to it. Silverware was in a box on the table! FYI they do charge for extra rice. I did not know this going in but they didn't charge me for it since we had already paid. Overall I'm sure I'll go back. The appetizing banchan dishes came out super fast and they were as cold and delicious as ever! Perhaps they taste better because they are "free" :P.... but not really "free". My friend recommended the combo, which I got --- Tofu Stew with Veggies, coupled with short ribs for my meat! The tofu stew gets a lot of love on yelp already, so I will not waste precious words recommending this STEW-pendous bowl of magic. You just get so much delicious/flavourful stew for the price you pay! The short ribs I got were also very well done! Not too much bone, so I definitely did not feel cheated out of my meat. My combo meal came out to be around $22 pre-tax (it was for dinner), which is a bit on the pricier side. Service was also friendly and welcoming. The waitress regularly came by our table and asked for how things were. I love this place. They have the BEST tofu soups. I almost always get the spicy pork and kimchi tofu soup or the gopchang tofu soup. The seafood is good too, but I prefer no shells or thinks that require too much work. Their pork bone soup and beef soup are amazing too. I would try other dishes, but I can't help but keep getting these 4. Definitely filling and satisfying. Especially in this cold weather. I love that the tables are pretty private and enclosed so conversations can be free and expressive. Their sides are solid. Not the best but good. For a dish that takes an extensive amount of time to make at home, the wait time for your food to arrive is very short. Even when it's busy. Only have been here a few times and every time before I walked in the door, I told myself to give this place another try. There must be a reason why they are named "tofu house". Btw, I'm a HUGE fan of tofu stew, to a point I did research online and tried to make it myself. Not to brag, but I think I can make way better tofu stew than this restaurant. Taste is too light and not very spicy. I had to recook it myself by adding a bit salt and some kimchi. Their bulgogi and short ribs are just average. Side dishes are decent. Purple rice is a little dry. I'd say their food worth about 2.5 stars, but their unexpected friendly service brings it up to 3 stars. I say unexpected is because I found most ajumma servers from Korean restaurants usually are not as friendly as the younger ones to non-Korean speaking customers, but this place is definitely exceptional. The Korean stone tofu soup is usually pretty decent (only reason I didn't rate this a 1-star), but after my experience with the dolsot bibimbap, I would prefer to go somewhere else. I had been craving that dolsot bibimbap for a while now, and after 45 minutes of walking around H-mart's food court, my boyfriend and I were decided here, and we STILL made the wrong choice... DOLSOT BIBIMBAP was blaaaaannnnnnnd. AND the egg was COMPLETELY cooked through! Sorry to toot this horn, but a bibimbap is pretty basic and isn't that hard to mess up...and yet... We just wanted that wonderful running yolk on the crunchy rice-veggie combo, and instead it was oily and sad. Great tasting tofu restaurant with plenty of Korean side dishes including the standard kimchi, pickled daikon, pickled potatoes, bean sprouts, seaweed and white crunchy bits of unknown origin that hubby liked but I didn't, macaroni salad (yes, amongst all that pickled Korean side dishes), fermented soy strips, and plain broccoli. Servings of red rice for each of us were provided. Fairly bland tasting rice. Hubby had the Hangover soup which was described as being just okay since the temperature of the soup was so terribly super hot that the veggies got over cooked and the pork was full of gristle. My tofu soup with oysters was delicious as I had asked for it to be spicy and it was just right. The size of the individual oyster was not impressive but the number of them was plentiful. The broth was very tasty and full of jalapeños and gochujang, definitely made my way. The servers kept checking to see if we wanted more side dishes so bonus points for them! Best soondubu I've had in quite a long time. They give you the eggs at the table to crack it in fresh and then break it up however you want. I got the seafood one (clams, shrimp, and mussel) in a very well balanced, not too spicy soup with oodles of soft tofu. Maybe I'll get the mushroom one next time instead (or the seafood and mushroom one) as the oyster mushrooms in the soup were fantastic. Kimchi is plentiful: the radish is really good as are the fish cakes. Can't speak to the rest as we were just happy munching away on those and the soup. My only gripe is why did we not get our rice in the hot stone bowls? The rice comes out yummier typically that way and I like putting hot water in the bowl afterwards to scrape up the crunchy bits. Oh well. Wait staff is very quick (press the button and they appear) and management comes by and checks up on you during the meal to make sure your kimchi is refilled and any needs are met and the place looks spiffy on a decor standpoint too. read more

Best Korean food in Texas I've ever had (of course, Korean food in Houston isn't the greatest, so take that with a grain of salt). I went to Musiro on a Saturday evening with a group of 7; we had to wait around 20-25 minutes. The servers were friendly, but they were incredibly rushed and not the most attentive. The service was pretty slow also; i think because they were so busy. But the manager apologized for how slow everything was, which was nice. Food: 1. Their side dishes are really on point! I loved every side dish; they were really fresh and made really, really well. 2. Cold noodles (Naengmyeon): Delicious! I haven't found many Korean restaurants that serve Naengmyeon. And the one here was really well made; it definitely tasted like the ones I had in Korea. Very refreshing! 3. Sundubu: I only had a sip of my friend's, but it was amazing! I can't believe I'm trying the Ramen Soondooboo for the first time! I've never seen this at other Korean restaurant. Some of the tofu comes with stone pot rice but the Ramen tofu stew doesn't come with it so be aware if you don't get a stone bowl rice with it. You still get the regular rice. I wish I could've given a good review. I've never given a review in general, but I was very upset with this experience. We came in as a group of 10 and all ordered food. Everybody got their good except for somebody who ordered the dumplings. the dumplings are an appetizer and after an hour we asked for our checks, dumplings nowhere to be seen. We figured maybe they didn't write it down guy weren't too concerned, as long as we were charged. However, when our group saw that the dumplings were in the bill, we mentioned that they never got their order, and the sever went to the kitchen and came right back out with the dumplings. We tried to deny them multiple times but they were forced upon us. Then we noticed that the tip is calculated into the bill and we were forced to give at least an 18% tip.
