I've tired this place multiple times and this place is my favorite go to spot. I was in this area and stopped by for lunch. I ordered tangsuyook and it came out so faster. Tangsuyook was good but I wish more crispy. The sauce was sour and sweet but little watery this time. They price was $0.50 higher than before (only jjamppong and tangsuyook) This place is self-service. You have to go to front desk for order your food and you have to pick it up them. This place is clean and Morden casual. This place available for to-go but they will ask your house is how far from this place. They've frozen jjajangmyen for to-go. They will recommend you that buy frozen jjajangmyen if you're home is far from there.

I tried this place when it first opened a while back and it wasn't too great. But I gave it another try and I think their taste improved. They only have 6 things on the menu (but technically 4) so it's very simple when it comes to ordering. The restaurant is a korean-chinese fusion and most people get Jjajangmyeon (noodles with black bean sauce), Jjamppong (noodles with spicy seafood broth and vegetables), and tangsooyook (it's kinda like sweet and sour pork). You can also replace the noodles with rice, which becomes jjajangbab and jjamppong bab. I would recommend you to get tangsooyook to share and pick either of the jjajangmyeon or the jjamppong. They raised the noodle prices to $6.99, but regardless, it is great pricing for the portion and flavor. The restaurant is also self-service and you can see them making your food. The cashier is friendly and helpful. Your food comes out pretty fast so it is a great option in the hmart area if you are in a tight schedule.

Jja jang myun is only $5.99 and jam ppong is $5.99 and is huge. Probably can split it. The tang su yook is a little small at $10 but it's pretty good and made with special batter or something. It's a good size pave and it's maintained well. The kitchen is visible from the outside. You self serve so there's no tip. It's right next to Park Jun and Charm Juk. I would recommend this place.

If you're looking for this restaurant, it might be hard to find if you can't read Korean! It's near Kimchi Stylist/Yogurtland. This is a Chinese restaurant - Korean style. Aka don't expect typical Chinese food but that you see in Korean dramas - jjajangmyeon, jjampong, tangsuyuk, etc. Actually there's maybe only 5 dishes on the menu. The cashier who takes your order doesn't speak much English, but enough to allow you to order. It's also self service so you grab your own chopsticks and everything! We got two orders of jjajangmyeon which was mediocre. The portion is huge! There are chunks of pork in it, which was good to see, but I truly like my instant version/Hmart food court's version better (NOT Chapaghetti). I'm still trying to find a place for bomb jjajang! I wouldn't come back for this dish but may want to come back to try the other few things on the menu.

I'm not sure why this place has negative reviews! The menu is quite small becausse they specialize in their jjampong and jjajangmyeon. I think this is closest to the best jjajangmyeon I've had in the States, & the jjampong was flavorful & spicy as it should be. The jjajangbap comes with a large plate of rice topped with a thick scrambled egg & jjampong on the side, all for a very reasonable price. The portion size for what you pay is so worth! The fried pork is soft and when paired with the sweet and sour sauce on the side it is bommbb. The service here is very friendly, and you can grab pickled radish and water as self-service. I will definitely return when I am craving jjajangmyeon!

    Yummy!

This is a great place for Korean-Chinese noodle house! Pretty clean and bright atmosphere. Simple menu: jajang nooodle, zzamppng noodle, sweet and sour pork. Price is very reasonable and u get great portion of food. Tastes good, well made!

Jjambong, half of it is gone from splitting with my mom, one bowel is more than enough for 2 ladies

It's not very salty, which is what I like and it's a good serving size (sometime too big so my husband finishes it for me). It comes with salt and pepper for more seasoning, and a few side dishes. My husband usually gets their fried chicken and he's tried all their flavors, now he ventures on to other dishes. Always a great experience! The servers are very attentive and they come by all the time to check on you, refill waters, and offer you more of their banchans. I love their cucumber side dish and their kimchi. I always get refills on those. They are a little on the pricier side, but totally worth it. Overall, definitely recommend! It's best to come early to find parking since it does tend to be super busy. Once you're done with dinner, go on over to somi somi or 85 degrees or even matcha maiko for dessert!

The crunch factor was nothing like what I had in Seoul and the layered seasoning is missing! The chicken was tender, so points for that. Before the main event, we got the seafood & green onion pancake. Crispy on the outside and reasonably chewy interior. Good amount of seafood; in particular, the oyster stood out. It was also a nice portion that was ideal for sharing. I opted for the seafood soondubu. Everything, from the banchan to the specific side dishes served with the soondubu, came out not too long after ordering. I got it at spice level three which I thought offered the right amount of kick without being too overwhelming (I also like to think I have a pretty strong spice tolerance). It had a good variety of seafood; namely, the shrimp and oyster. I'm not the biggest fan of clams but they were definitely still tasty. The tofu was soft and silky. The yellow croaker and rice were great supplements to the dish. The rice perfectly absorbed the broth. The croaker added a nice crunchy break from everything. The banchan was pretty standard in my opinion - still, a great complement to the soondubu. Last but not least - service was attentive and quick. I will definitely be coming back at some point!

The restaurant had plenty of space, but service was still super fast and efficient anyway, which I loved. What I love about Chodang is that the food is stellar and such good PORTIONS. Knowing this, I still opted to order a Combo Special because the thought of having leftovers for the next day sounded great to me. I ordered the Kimchi Tofu Soup with Beef Bulgogi, and it was delicious. I usually order my soups at the Spicy level, which I would say has a kick and flavor but never leaves me panting for air or water. As someone who likes spice, I wouldn't say it's very spicy, but definitely flavorful. Beef Bulgogi is one of my favorite dishes, and this place's version does not disappoint. The meat is tender and has a good balance of sweet and salty. My friends also ordered Combo Specials with a Tofu soup and the Korean bbq ribs, and Spicy Pork Bulgogi. One of these friends opted for the medium spice level, which I would say is a safe choice for everyone, especially if you're worried about something being too spicy. All soups come with Korean side dishes, a whole grilled yellow croaker fish (delicious but lots of bones), and a hot stone bowl of rice. Nothing missed!

Californian from SF here, so take this with a pinch of salt, as I would suggest with the eel soup…read more Along with that soup(L21), our party of three and a half (sleeping baby) ordered a small bossam(A1) and the dak-ghalbi/spicy chicken(L11). If you are suffering from gout/high uric acid, I'd recommend AGAINST you ordering the spicy chicken. Out came a salad, classic Napa cabbage kimchi, radish kimchi, and individual portions of three sauces. Gochujang, bean paste with jalapeno and onion, and a sweetened soy with pickled cukes. Of note is the Napa cabbage kimchi, fresh rather than aged, akin to Kunjip (for those of you from the Bay Area) rather than other typical Korean eateries. The fish sauce used gave a background note reminiscent of salted fish/鹹魚 if you're Cantonese, a first for me. Then came the three dishes. The small bossam came with squid, spicy dried radish (different from the earlier kimchi which had the crisp of a pear. This has a different crunch.), a lightly dressed scallion salad, and of course, boiled pork belly. Sorry, no oysters. The staff suggest eating the squid with gochujang. Pork belly unctuous and very soft. Entire dish was solid. The eel soup is a first for me. Never seen before. The white soup was thick like sollongtong, loaded, but rather bland. The unseasoned eel gave the broth a light freshwater fish flavor that will not be for everyone, but the meat was much improved with the sweetened soy. Other ingredients used include scallions, enoki mushrooms, and of note, perilla leaves, which gave a strong flavor between mint and epazote when encountered. The soup overall did feel bland so we added salt as if this was sollongtong, and the taste did improve a lot. Last dish: dak-ghalbi/spicy chicken. Normally the most mundane of the 3, I'm writing because of this dish. When we say spicy, I mean this dish will slowly leave a small fissure in the center of your tongue, though you will be able to taste everything else. The marinate had a mushroom flavor that I haven't had on this side of the Pacific Ocean, and worked well with the heat. Present again was the perilla leaf whose flavor stood up well, just a touch, neither neutered by nor overpowering the heat. Japchae noodles were present as well, showing an addictively toothsome side that I didn't know japchae had. Call me impressed. There was one struggle I had coming here though... I'm used to seeing Latinized Korean on the menu; here there is straight up Hangul, and and English description of the dish... Took me a while to go through the menu. Never realized how much I relied on this feature, or how naked I felt without it... But yeah. Dallas ain't no slouch when it comes to Korean food.

Being from California, I've usually had Bossam with napa…read morecabbage, radish kimchi, and garlic + jalapeño; however, this came with radish kimchi, a green onion + beansprout medley, and squid, which slightly differed than what was pictured on the menu. Wasn't a big fan of the sauce it came with--it was a bit sweet for my liking. The Dried Cabbage Soup was also another item that didn't match the menu, and unfortunately so--in lieu of ribs, we were served (a relatively small portion of) brisket. Overall, the soup lacked depth and it was heavy on the veggies. Lastly, the Kimchi Dumplings were probably my fave. They came out steaming hot from the kitchen, and they had a nice flavor that wasn't overpowered by the kimchi or its tartness. Service: We were waited on by two people--a man and a woman. The woman seemed to be well versed in the menu and offered her suggestions, which we took her up on. The man, who I'm assuming is the owner, was nice enough to explain how to enjoy the Boiled Pork Wrap. Came on a busy Thursday evening, but food came out pretty quickly. Ambiance: Casual, modern, traditional. Parking: Ample parking. Located in a plaza.
