Really enjoyed everything in the flavorful Rogan Josh Lunch Special, especially along with the warm naan. Particularly worthwhile with my GrubHub promo. The Mulligatawny Soup was less exciting and may be less of a value at its regular price. Since it's nearby, likely pickup next time I order. I ordered from Mustard Friday May 22, over the phone. It was not my first time but it will be the last time. My wife became sick after eating lamb that was not fully cooked. The whole situation was weird. The young woman who took my order argued with me about how much I ordered. I ordered 2 lamb biryanis, 2 vegetable samosas, 1 aloo paratha and a mango lassi. When she read it back to me, she said 4 samosas, which I missed hearing her say. When I got the total it was higher than I calculated and I realized something was wrong, so I asked to hear my order again. The second time she repeated my order, I heard her say 4 samosas and I attempted to correct the issue. She began to argue that I was in the wrong. I disengaged to prevent escalating into an argument, asked her to remove the samosas, how much was the total and how long the delivery would take. The manner in which she spoke to me gave a bad impression. I don't know how that interaction affected the kitchen staff, but the food I received was not fully cooked. The potatoes in the samosas were hard and undercooked. The lamb in the biryani was also undercooked to the point of being rubbery. Undercooked lamb is the worst, especially because when done right, lamb biryani is amazing! My wife was sick the following morning from the undercooked meat. It was our only meal of the day and it was unacceptable. We didn't even finish eating the food. The most disappointing part was that I have enjoyed ordering from Mustard in the past and felt they were the best Indian restaurant in the area. Best Indian restaurant I have tried in a long time! Had to come out of Yelp retirement to write this review. Beautiful new restaurant, which was unfortunately not too crowded. Ordered vinadloo, butter chicken, chana masala, and saag paneer. All come with rice. Amazing flavors, not a bad dish all around. Reminded me of my time in Singapore having great Indian food. Everything was delicious. I had the lunch special. I had the Murgh (Chicken) Chettinad. Which is named for a Mercantile Caste in Tamil Nadu. We had the mulligatawny soup which was remarkably bland almost like a watered down unspiced dal. The chicken was spiced, tasty, and served with a hot naan. The naan was unremarkable and didn't have a lot of texture. Sort of a commercial mass produced bakery product. The achar, was a mixed pickle, was very spicy and nice. I didn't see any other piles on the menu. The cabbage and potato was spicy and delicious. Easily the pick of the meal. Overall the spot is really nice neighborhood spot. The dining room was bright with sunlight streaming through large storefront windows. Definiatly worth the walk uptown. read more

I came here for my birthday a few months ago. I already knew the food was gonna be amazing because I'd been here before, but the service was stellar. I felt so celebrated and had so much fun, and it was the perfect restaurant to cap off my year. I've since ordered delivery and pickup too many times to count. The tandoori chicken and salmon were standout but truly, everything here is so good. It's also a beautiful space. I hope to be eating here for years to come! read more

Had lunch here yesterday. The Lamb Rogan Josh and Goat Biryani dishes were delicious. Aloo Tikki Chaat for a starter was perfect. The place is very clean and bright. We especially love the BYOB option. Desert was very tasty Indian ice cream and they brought us a complimentary rice pudding which was also delicious. A solid Indian restaurant. Mustard is, by far, the best Indian in Harlem. We live in Central Harlem and used to go to Indian Summer but their dishes had so little chicken that we would often be disappointed.
