Ooh baby! I was driving past their parking lot and got lured in by the smell. Oh my. There are few things as satisfying as a grilled burger and fresh fries. I had a little cheese burger and little fries but the portion is by no means small. I love that the burgers are made to order, and certainly don't mind waiting five or seven minutes for that to happen. Don't waste your time or money. Came here at 5pm and waited over 25 minutes for a simple cheeseburger and fries. My burger was left sitting on the counter for 20 minutes and I watched a worker reheat the fries by grabbing a handful and tossing them back into a fry basket and into the frier. The fries were chewy and tasted stale and my burger was soggy from sitting for so long. Oh not to mention the little cup of fries was upside down and contained less than 20 French fries. After a busy day, we decided to get takeout, and burgers and fries sounded like just the thing to feed our stomachs and our souls that are moving from summer break and going back to work/school. The burgers were hot, delicious and made just as we ordered when we got home and unwrapped them. I really wanted to write this review because the person who got our food to us in the takeout line was great! I didn't catch his name but I watched him deal with some customers who were a bit impatient and he never reacted to that. He remained friendly, professional and service oriented doing whatever was asked (or demanded) of him to make the customer happy. Since it's just another chain, I'm going to review the service. Obviously worth he rating I have given, I'd say they were great! Sometimes it's nice to just find a greasy joint to visit while in Boulder. I was tired of all the vegan restaurants and wanted something unhealthy for the day. The guys here were very friendly. I ordered a regular hamburger and the regular fries. There's malt vinegar off to the side for the condiments. My burger was made medium and was still juicy. The restaurant was kept tidy. Just felt bad for them, right after they wiped everything down, a lazy individual was getting ketchup and didn't bother placing the cup properly underneath the spout. She kept pushing the handle down and 1/4 of the ketchup made it into the cup and the other 3/4 on to the counter. She continued doing this until the cup was full. Didn't bother to clean her mess up and one of the Five Guys employee came over to clean it up immediately (with no anger). This is a good store with old-timey hamburgers. Order-taking is quick. The store is always clean. The burgers are cooked when you order, not before. You get your choice of any combination of a lot of toppings. They always give you more fries than you ordered. This location is in the 29th Street Mall and there is lots of nearby parking. Tip: the regular burgers and fries are huge, so order the "Little Hamburger" or "Little Cheeseburger" and "Little Fries" instead; they are reasonably-sized. The main drawback here is the price. At my most recent visit I ordered a litle cheeseburger, little fries, and regular drink, total $14.37. This is not ridiculously high, but it does seem like a lot for what is essentially drive-in food. read more

My opinion but Five Guys is the best burger chain. The burger I created is called the "Nice Guy" cheese bacon burger, bbq sauce, mayo, grilled onions and lettuce. Always get the Cajun fries and eat as many peanuts as you can. Top it all off with a milkshake to go and you're a happy camper. The burger places are piling up around here and I needed to sort them out and pick my favs. Somehow, I had never gotten around to Five Guys, so I gave them a try tonight. They moved right up into my top 3. One of my main issues with burgers is that I really don't want lettuce, tomato and especially not mayo on my burger. And that is so easy here. It is an "addition" toppings menu rather than a "subtraction"option like so many places. And I love grilled onions, never eat them raw. Perfect! they will do that. So a single burger, cheese, grilled onions and grilled mushrooms on a soft fresh bun. I'm happy. But what made me even happier? They made my order of fries without the salt. Cheerfully and unquestioning. And they are fresh cut, skin on fries. And some decent drinks beyond the soda venue, 4 kinds of iced tea. The staff was friendly and efficient and the place was bright and clean. And even with Trader Joe's now moved in on the other side of the parking lot, there was still close in spaces to Five Guys. No problems here. $13 for a cheeseburger, regular fries, and regular drink. That's ridiculous. I should have gone to a real restaurant for that price. burger: fell apart promptly. I tried to use a fork to keep things in order, but even that didn't work. Bun and MEAT was extremely 'grindy'. Can we talk about how they use American cheese for their 'cheeseburgers'? I wish I had known that in advance. For one, I don't want to pay extra, and second I don't want artificial plastic in my lunch. I wish they used Cheddar, I would pay for that. fries COULD HAVE been delicious- should have had an extra 30 seconds in the fryer, but you could tell they were fresh fries. price: for a cheeseburger (note cheese is actually american cheese, gross), paid over overall: don't bother. super expensive for mediocre quality. What can you say about Five Guys.. They make a great burger that is filled with lots of gooey goodness. I tried this place in the early 2000's back East and have been very happy with that fact that they have expanded out into the west. They were super runny and wrong order but attached our order to it. not even whip cream like we ordered.
