Thank you to Muth's for participating with Yelp! We were so exited picking our caramel apples and candy.

A local staple in Louisville! Opened year round you'll find your traditional favorites and seasonal treats. Some things simply taste better because they are made by Muth's. What you'll find (besides 100+ years of history): peanut brittle, dipped Oreos, modjeskas, chocolate, jelly beans, malt balls, espresso beans, gummies, and so much more. Sugar free options also available. Service is fast with associates always behind the counter to help grab candy or ring up your purchase. Small store so be patient with fellow shoppers. If you're looking for bulk candy or gift packages, they can help! Street parking. The closest spots are metered.

Went here when I was a kid and returned in 2016. They were closed and saw me peering through the window and invited me and 3 friends in. We bought SO much stuff to take back to Maryland. Now I have moved to Louisville and cannot wait to place my Easter order for my grandchildren. I'm looking forward to a visit soon. Great service and the most amazing candy.

We landed in Louisville early, drove downtown, and waiting for things to open found Muth's Candies. What an amazing gem! Stepping through the doors reminded me of candy shops that were old when I was young. The ambiance was practically screaming, "THIS CANDY WILL BE GOOD BUY SOME"! It's been here since 1921, and they are still hand making all of their candies. Massive selection from creamy sour popsicle shaped lollipops to caramel covered marshmallow, to classic chocolate selections. Perfect place to get souvenirs for kids, or to satisfy that sweet tooth for the kid in you!

Love this little candy store. What might look small is mighty on flavor. I have ordered from their website, from inside the store and every time they were able to deliver on my ask. Modjeska candy is so good. I love the chocolate covered ones as well. Try the chocolate orange peels! Delicious. Try everything...their candy is just delicious!

On a recent trip to Louisville, I stopped by to get some of these iconic candies. The modjeska was simply amazing. I had some others which I did a taste comparison with and hands down the ones from Muth's were a cut above! So good and surprisingly not cloyingly sweet. The Bourbon Balls were also outstanding. Everyone I gifted these to loved them. I picked up some brittle as well (liked the peanuts better than the peanuts and popcorn version) but were a bit too sweet for me. I got done Halloween candy for my friend's son, and a few more items for gifts. The store is unassuming and has been around for over 100 years. Charming selections and definitely worth a visit if you're in town!

Yes, stop here and stock up. We have had chocolate bourbon balls all across the state when visiting distilleries. Without a doubt, Muth's bourbon balls, made with Very Old Barton, are by far THE BEST. The candy shop is right out of last century, nothing fancy and there are some artifacts along with the candy. We visit Louisville from Virginia every so often, and Muth's is always a stop. Visit near Easter and there may be a line, so many Easter candies to choose from. Their chocolate is a perfect gift or souvenir from Kentucky. Both milk and dark chocolate options, as well as not chocolate selections. Most of the time it is east to get a parking spot right out front in the NULU part of Louisville. It's an authentic experience.

What a cute little place! We came here during the NULU Bock Fest and loved it. As soon as you walk in there are so many yummy options to choose from! I bought a coconut chocolate egg, sour gummies and chocolate malt balls all for only $9 which I thought was great! Service was great and everyone was willing to answer any questions that we had. I will definitely be back!

I am in love with Muths bourbon barrels and their bourbon turtles. But don't sleep on the modjeskas! The service from this store is always top notch. Very cute and warm ambiance in the store.

Muth's candies is a long time old fashioned candy store that services the popular Nulu neighborhood in Lousiville Kentucky. As the name suggests it is a candy shop that has a wide selection of goodies and treats. Mainly chocolate it appears. Me and the family stopped in here for the first time a week or so ago and all picked out and individual snack or treat. We walked away with some peanut cluster assorted chocolate box, snow caps, peanut brittle, a seasonal holiday chocolate tree and some other small candies. Everything we ate here was very good. Impersonal got the peanut cluster chocolates and they were top notch. Very high end tasting candy. The pricing here is honestly and surprisingly fair. Being in a popular neighborhood and being an authentic non chain candy store I was anticipating high prices. But to me they felt cheaper then some of the big chain candy stores I've been and they had more authentic and local candies. So win win. Overall cute shop with drool inducing goodies and great prices. Worth checking out for those with a sweet tooth or looking for nice tasty gifts for someone.

The American breakfast had large potato pieces, good sausage, and made to order eggs. Hot coffee was on the better side for hotel coffee. Dinner: they were super accommodating, as we were traveling with a friend with an infant. I called ahead to let them know we would come in with a stroller, and they made sure to sit us in an area where the stroller was not in the way of servers or other guests. Our server was one of the most attentive people I have ever met, and every recommendation they gave was fantastic. We started with the oyster rockefellar and the spicy tuna tartare. The oysters were massive and the tuna dish was so good, we got it a second time later in the weekend. We all got steaks for our mains and added a lobster tail - there was a mix up with the lobster tail taking a bit and they ended up bringing out the largest lobster tail to make up for it. All steaks, their sides, and sauces were fantastic- better than most I have had in the DC area. The food was all rich so under order or share amongst friends. Cocktails were of course fantastic, from espresso martinis to the famous smoked old fashions. We had drinks at the bar another night and the service was just as good, though they did tell us that they didn't serve the drink in a smoke box when we certainly had one just a night before.

It's a nice hotel, and a pleasant steakhouse, but not sure it demands quite that much love. Most importantly, they don't know how to cook a steak. The flavor is spot on, you can really taste the wood fire, and the steaks are seasoned well. But the wife ordered a filet medium and it came out blood rare. My medium rare strip was presented rare, which I'm ok with, though it was noticeably still a bit more cooked than her "medium" filet. Having to return a steak to get it cooked properly, at an apparently well respected upscale steakhouse, is a disappointment, a big bump in the middle of a pleasant evening. We started with the oysters rock, which were quite good, and quite large. The french onion soup was a nice classic version. We split an heirloom tomato salad, and each still got two very large and thick slices of tomato, making the split a good sized salad for each of us. The balsamic pearls were a treat. An unexpected pleasure were the parker house rolls. Yum. Though between enjoying them, with the split salad, splitting the oysters, and the soup, we'd clearly over ordered! Repeal is a pleasant fine dining spot in the midst of the Louisville downtown action. They just need to learn how to cook steaks to temp before they rise to a truly 5 star destination.

It could just be mediocre pub food, but the food here is very, very good. I don't know why, but when I'm in the south, I get the hankering for a deviled egg. So we started with the deviled eggs (Los Huevos El Diablo), which, despite the name, were not super spicy. They had just the right amount of spice. One thing to know about me is: If I see a patty melt on the menu, I will order that. So I got the Merle's Melt, which is a burger patty with cheddar and Monterey jack cheese, plus bacon and special sauce on buttered toast. It was sublimely tasty! It comes with house-made chips, which were good. They also offer tacos on the menu. One of my children got one steak taco and one chicken taco. The tacos are topped with tomato, lettuce and cojita cheese. I was told that these were very good! My kid eats like a bird, but ate one and a half tacos, so that must say something, right? The Lip Smack'n Mac & Cheese was also ordered, as well as the fried chicken, because the menu says that the fried chicken is award-winning, so how could we not? The fried chicken was super crispy and tasty, and the mac and cheese was creamy and made with large shells, which is the best kind of pasta to use for mac and cheese (in my opinion). The service was great, the lighting was great, and we were seated quickly, even though they seemed busy. It was a good place to have a family dinner in Louisville.

Everyone has those weird texture foods they can't eat and for some reason I'm that way with strawberries. I know, I'm a weirdo. Anyways, besides the strawberries in my goodie cup the marshmallows were top notch. Very good flavor a nice standalone treat. These aren't the type of marshmallows you roast over a campfire. My top-tier chum who literally went to the school of hospitality and I spent most of the afternoon on a bourbon tour and a post-tour distillery so...food was needed. And quickly. In our mild defense, we didn't really know how the day was going to go or when we were actually going to have dinner, which made it a little tougher to pre-plan, but no research went into this at all and we paid for it. We wrapped up our bourbon adventures at the Angel's Envy distillery probably five or six blocks from here. Instead of being grownups and doing at least a quick/impromptu recon for spots, we literally just walked outside and down W Main St until we hit something. And we hit this, which was right on the edge of the main tourist area, pretty much Louisville's equivalent of the Times Square/MSG area. And as someone who works and used to live in NYC, you'd have to do a lot of convincing to get me to eat in that particular area - it's overpriced and the food/service just tends to not be very good, which makes you wonder what the appeal is for tourists beyond the convenience. But regardless, it's always struck me as an odd way for a tourism spot to put its best foot forward (or not). Doc Crow's is enormous, and when we were brought further into the restaurant to our table, I think we literally walked through three or four large rooms and navigated through multiple passageways. If you told me this place took up an entire city block or close to it, I'd believe you. Beyond the size/scope, there's nothing really distinctive that separates it from the myriad of other restaurants you'd expect to see catering to out-of-towners. It was the Friday evening of Memorial Day Weekend, so a place that I suspect is usually pretty busy was even busier and louder than that. Maybe not the greatest recipe after a bourbon tour, but who can say. On the app front, we got the Crispy Salmon Bites, which were fine. Not an item I typically see on a menu, even one with more of a seafood bent. I thought the cornmeal/panko breading was the right call; I'm a big catfish aficionado, so I'm of the opinion that cornmeal is underutilized, at least in the Northeast where I come from. Otherwise, nothing really mind-blowing there; probably would have made sense for it to be a different type of fish given the prep (I think salmon is best raw in a sushi roll or grilled), but it could have been worse. I don't think a ton of thought went into this on my end, but I went with the full rack BBQ ribs, along with a side of mac n' cheese. Again, okay, though not as flavorful as I would have hoped and I thought the ribs were on the dry side. Not their fault, but I always regret getting the full rack in hindsight because ribs have a deceptively significant amount of meat on the bones and a half rack is a very decent portion by itself; I am a work in progress just like everyone else. The mac n' cheese was also pretty dry, which I think you can see pretty obviously in the accompanying picture. Tasted and felt reheated at least once or twice. The service was pretty efficient given how busy it was, but our waiter was just on robotic autopilot. Not remotely personable and everything I said to him was responded to with, "For sure, for sure." Maybe he was having a rough night to start the holiday weekend, but it felt like he was just going through the motions and just checking off some boxes there. I went into this already predisposed to not like the generic tourist trap places, so grain of salt. But my recommendation if you have the time/bandwidth (now that I'm a cagey Louisville vet) is to bypass this area if you can and find something tastier and more interesting in the Highlands neighborhood. That's where the real ones are.
