The price was a little high, but it was still **far more affordable than what veterinarians in California were quoting me**, and I am very thankful we were able to get Chili the treatment he needed. Dr. Gutierrez did an amazing job with Chili's first surgery. She took the time to explain what was going on with Chili and helped me understand the situation. I also really appreciated that they sent me a **video and a picture of Chili the following day**. As a worried pet parent, being able to see him and know how he was doing meant so much to me. Chili is definitely a little stubborn--he has been giving them a hard time about keeping his muzzle on--but the staff has been patient and is working on other options to keep him comfortable and safe. We are currently waiting for a response regarding Chili's **second surgery**, so we are still hoping and praying everything works out. She was kind, compassionate, spoke perfect English, kept us updated throughout the visit, and took the time to explain our dog's condition and treatment plan clearly. She made an incredibly stressful situation much easier, and we're very grateful for the care she provided. We also saw the cardiologist while we were there. Although he seemed knowledgeable, he wasn't very friendly and often appeared annoyed when we asked questions. As worried pet owners, we were simply trying to understand our dog's condition, so his attitude was disappointing. Unfortunately, our recent experiences with the front desk have been frustrating. Last month, when our dog needed to be seen urgently, we couldn't get an appointment. The receptionist told us to take her to another clinic. We requested a referral, but our message was completely ignored. This week, I tried scheduling an appointment a few days in advance. The receptionist asked for my name and my dog's name so she could look us up in the system. After I provided the information, she never responded back. I followed up the next morning, and my message was still ignored. This was a completely different experience from the receptionist we dealt with four months ago, who always responded promptly and was very helpful. Dr. Sayra deserves five stars for her excellent care, but the lack of communication and responsiveness from the front desk has been very disappointing. When you're dealing with a sick pet, timely communication matters just as much as good medical care. I hope the clinic improves its customer service because their veterinarians deserve better support. I'd recommend to go down the street to New Vet. They are helpful and responsive!

One vet in San Diego suggested he be put down! I was horrified and feeling desperate. I was referred to Vet Playas through a friend of a friend which ended up saving my dog's life. It's been almost 10 months since his surgery at Vet Playas and he is still doing fabulous and pooping like a champ! I am so grateful to Dr. Juan and the entire staff. The surgery was a complete success and it cost a fraction of what they charge for this surgery in the states! The entire staff was so professional and caring and they spoke English as well as Spanish. I also learned that a perineal hernia is more common in dogs that are not neutered and are older in age - yet another reason to spay and neuter! (I had adopted my dog when he was a senior and thought it would be okay not to neuter at the time.) I wholeheartedly recommend Vet Playas for their veterinary expertise and their kindness. The entire staff truly cares about every pet that comes in. They don't see animals as $$$ signs, they listen, they explain, and they care about your fur babies. My first green flag was seeing multiple pets being cared for behind the front desk, literally hanging out freely instead of being locked in cages, I absolutely LOVED THAT!! There are no appointments, you just wait your turn. I've been there four times, and only once did I wait for my turn about 15-20 minutes. Every other visit was less than 5 minutes. The clinic looks like a house from the outside, so parking is limited, but even then I only had to wait about 10 minutes once. I took my 7-year-old pittie because he was bleeding while peeing. They ran different tests, diagnosed him with an enlarged prostate, and recommended surgery (neutering). It's now been 11 days since he got surgery at El Club de Nana, his stitches are out, the bleeding is completely gone, and he's happier and has so much more energy. I used Google Translate to explain to the medical staff his issues (heart murmur/failure, horrible teeth). Then the veterinarian that spoke English arrived and saw him. He explained what they would do and I left him there for a couple hours. They extracted 3 teeth and cleaned his remaining teeth and gave aftercare medicine and instructions! Wabi is doing great and his remaining teeth look amazing! This was at a fraction of the cost of the quotes I got from his vet in OC. They only take cash! Highly recommend! Pro tip - if you have global entry, register your car so you can take the fast sentri lanes. I went back to SD to eat breakfast with family while I waited for Wabi to be ready. Also, try to go on a weekday since they don't take appointments and it's first come, first served. If they are busy they may make you come back another day for the procedure. If you think your dog may need to undergo anesthesia - refrain from giving them food/water before you visit.

Medical Pet was the only one that answered and even though they were fully booked and closing in less than an hour, they still squeezed my doggy in and saw her. I was so happy when I arrived, the staff was extremely accommodating and wonderful. The clinic is very clean and has parking out front. Only about 10 mins from the border. I paid $160USD for the initial visit which covered the check-up, x-rays, and medications. Extremely affordable and fair pricing. My dog already had stitches on her cheek from another incident and the doctor offered to take them out at a later date. I went back a week after and they didn't charge me anything. She got her stitches at another vet in Poway (we paid $1100 for that visit, NEVER AGAIN). I can't recommend this place enough. Will definitely be bringing my puppies here for any veterinarian needs.
