I have been going to Mitchell Wade Salon for years and have been transformed every time I walk in. I'm always impressed by the staff, state of the art equipment, and great styles from cuts to color. My whole family goes to see Eneith or MW himself and I get complements all the time on my hair. I've been going here for years for monthly facials and hair coloring and styling. This salon is very professional and I've had fantastic results. It seems like they spend a good bit of time on training and continuous education. They are on the pricy side but I've found that it's worth it. I love going to Mitchell Wade Salon. They carry a line of product called "Moroccan oil". They started carrying a light oil that is perfect for my thin hair. When I first started going there, Rikki promised me that she would help me grow my hair out. I had heard this from other salons MANY times before, but my hair has never looked better. I am a new customer to this Salon and wanted to try a few services before I reviewed. This Salon SPOILS you. As you walk in you are greeted by the friendly receptionist asking if you need a something to drink. Then you are walked back to the lady that will wash your hair. My scalp is still singing Hallelujah. They give you a nice scalp massage as you are sitting in the massage chair with your feet up. I don't want my hair wash to end. I got my hair cut by Mitch, originally, and I could not ask or want a better cut. He listened to what I needed and wanted. I got so many compliments on my hair. Then I went back to get my hair highlighted by Lyndsey. I won't lie I get a little nervous when it comes to highlights. She did an amazing job. Not only did the highlights look amazing, natural the were the best I have gotten, I felt like we were old friends. Mitch finished the job with another amazing hair cut. I can't help but love this place. I took my elderly Mom here as an acquaintance of hers had her hair done here and looked so pretty with her new hairstyle. Honestly, it's a higher-end salon so I wasn't exactly sure how an elderly client would fit in because some nicer salons have a bit of a snobbishness to them or just trying to be too hip. Not so here! The owner did my Mom's service and he was just so kind and caring, and held her arm, as she needs some help to stay steady, to lead her from the shampoo area to the haircut chair. He was just such a genuine gentleman. I like to patronize businesses that are a) local to Oviedo b) where I feel there are good and kind people and c) they do great work. This salon is the trifecta. I had an absolutely terrible experience with this company. I was verbally bullied by the "owner" and was told to not come back. I went in and got my hair dyed and unfortunately it didn't come out right. The color was uneven and blotchy. But it wasn't a problem, I've been going for years and it just needed to be dyed again. So I went in and my hair dresser dyed my hair again. I went to leave and they told me I needed to pay $30 because they blow dried my hair so that they could see the color. I'm sorry, even though I know this policy, I am not paying for this service as it is not my fault the color did not come out correctly. "After a hair dye, no one is allowed to leave with wet hair" however they make you pay to get it blow dried and the receptionist told me the opposite of this statement. Doesn't make any sense! I would have felt better about this, if my hair dresser would have made me aware of this process today instead of just blow drying my hair without any notification of price. I was under the assumption this was all corrective and that I was not to be charged. Anyway, I was speaking politely and respectfully to the receptionist and the owner comes out of no where and starts yelling at me saying to start walking to the back so that we can wet my hair again because I don't want to pay for the blow dry I already received. That is beyond rude and not good customer service. As an owner you should have a level head and be able to speak kindly and make the situation better not worse. The situation was fine and under control until she stepped in. She never asked me for my reasoning or why I thought that I would not be charged. She immediately started yelling at me. These are greedy and disrespectful people. And to top it off, I said that I was so unhappy that I wouldn't be coming back and the owner said "good!". We were new to the area and I tired Mitchell Wade twice for cut and highlights and I have to agree with the others that had bad experiences. My color and cut were terrible! I was told that the color " would improve with each visit". Not only did I try but I also got a $150 gift certificate to give to my daughter-in-law for her to try. We were both extremely disappointed. My daughter-in-law also had to go back to have her color re-done and it was so bad - again - that she was in tears and finally just did it herself from a box. As many of you have said - they are not cheap. I expect to pay for good service and was used to paying about the same where we previously lived - but in this case - you do NOT get what you pay for. PI've been going to Mitchell Wade for the last 6 years. Dolores who has cut my hair and colored it has done a wonderful job. My hair is not the easiest to work with it is very thin very straight I mean straight like a blade of grass, and she has worked miracles on my hair I get more compliments than anything else. she has said cut it short which I was like I don't know about cutting it real short but we finally cut it short short and my hair actually looks good everyday is easy to leave just straight it's easy to add some a little curl with it ruffed up. I've been blonde my whole life she toned down the color gave me a two tone process which I love she's a great person will give you her opinion if she thinks it's going to work on your head or not which I truly love. Yes it can be a little bit expensive but I think that's well worth it I'm very happy with my hair and my husband loves my hair so that outweighs the cost. Would I recommend them, Yes. I've been going to the Mitchell Wade Salon since it opened. From the front desk to the back of the salon with the attendants, I've always been pleased. Judith, at the front desk, often accommodates me by setting up my appointments months in advance (at my request) and emailing them to me..saves me the trouble of phone calls and hold time. Karen always does a great job with cut and color. My color and highlights is just what I asked for. There's a nice massage chair at the sinks for relaxing while having my hair washed and snacks, coffee, water available while waiting. The salon is attractive and the people are friendly. This was a terrible experience. We went here to get Lowlights on my daughters hair and to get it cut and styled. We were told she would be better off lightening her hair instead. We were okay with that given the reasons. My daughter was just clear she did not want the same as her current light brown hair. We also told the stylist that my daughters hair was very heavy in the back and the stylist had no advice on ways to help with that so we asked her to thin it out. Over three hours later and $215 she was "done". My daughters hair was wet and messy and everyone around kept saying it was past their closing time. So we left and figured we would go dry it ourselves. Not what you expect leaving a place like this - maybe one of the inexpensive chains but not for what we paid but we were not offered an option - after all they were closing. We went home and blew dried her hair. The color was EXACTLY the light brown she started with and yes her "style" was basically mop on the head - with a non thinned out mess in the back. Now she can't color it again unless she wants it to fall out and we have to find someone to fix the $215 hair cut we paid for. Never again! read more

I went in to get highlights and showed Talia dozen of pictures of what I wanted them to look like. She did a horrible job and I told her that I did not like it, so she had me come in the next day to fix it. I told her that I like it the second time because my hair was wet and I was in hurry to pick my daughter from school and to get home to my 7 month old. Anyways to make a long story short I told Talia I was going to TX for my husbands grandfathers funeral and to please highlight my hair like the picture that I had again shown her a dozen of times. When I got home the 2nd time i blowed dried my hair and cried because it looked so bad. The color was horrible and the highlights were two different colors. I have been getting highlight most of my life and this was the worst I have ever gotten.The reason why I went to this salon was because I just moved here from houston and its so close to my house and also because my mother in law went there, but after my horrible experience she and I will never be going back. It cost me $120 for partial highlights including her tip. Never go there for highlights or color. The reason why I didn't call them to complain was because I did not want them to touch my hair again for the 3rd time. when I got to TX for the funeral I went straight to CVS and bought a color and dyed my hair myself. Please save your money and go some where else that will make you happy and not waste your time!!! read more
