This was my first time having bò né and I'll definitely have it again and again and again! The meat was perfectly caramelized and tender. The pâté was delicious. And the BREAD. Damn that bread was so good. Crispy and flaky on the outside and insanely fluffy on the inside. I was very intrigued when I saw that they offer the banh mi meat plate and I wanted to try it but not by myself instead I got the combination banh mi and my boyfriend got the thit nuong as well as the bo ne. I love how fresh their bread is and their bo ne was very flavorful and yummy! For the combo, I don't really like shredded chicken so I'm going to opt out of that one for next time. I loveeee the banh mi here! The bread is super fresh and everything is so yummy! They recently just released some new menu items (Bo Kho, chicken and lychee ragu, and bo ne). So, I'm not usually a big fan of bo kho, but omg, this place has the best I've ever had! I also never had a dish like the chicken and lychee ragu but I love the tenderness of the chicken and sweetness of the lychee. The bo ne is very tender and flaborful! Really disappointed with everything all around. Bad service and was served cold food on our Togo order. The bahn mi tasted like it was smothered in coleslaw. The meat was cold ( like it had been taken out straight from the fridge) and chewy and hard. And to top it off, we found 2 pieces of HAIR in my banh mi!!! Stopped by after work on Friday it wasn't too busy. Bought 4 got 1 free and the lady that took our order was very nice as well as the older gentleman who made our corn milk drink. Don't let the bad reviews from people complaining about missing veggies and lack of meat steer you away. Keep in mind it's a new biz and they're still working out the kinks. The chicken banh mi was flavorful and had a sweet flavor from the sautéed onions. The combination was good too. The pickled veggies were fresh and crunchy. The bread was soft not old and hard like other places. For the price $3.75-$4 is average nowadays you can't find a sandwich for $3 unless you just get pork patty (gio lu) Roostars charges $5-6 and their meats all taste like it's been soaking in sweet soy sauce. My new go-to banh mi!! The shop was just opened couple weeks ago and they openly accept critiques. Love their pate and fresh, organic quality meat and veggie. Their pate is very fresh and Not overkilled w mayo is what it took to win my heart! I think they have the best pate in town!! Other review mentioned the price was abit higher... well your paying for their quality! Very cozy family run shop w lovely staffs. Will take my family here next time they are in town! this place is interesting.....their sandwhiches are good and I like that they used deboned chicken instead of the typical shredded chicken BUT they are always out of everything. 3 out of the past 4 times ive gone they are out of the deboned chicken meat, crispy pork belly and xiu mai. thus I had to settle for the combination that is supposed to come with chicken, but of course since they are out it doesnt come with that. management needs a better inventory system or something. what kind of banh mi spot repeatedly runs out of meat when it's so vital to your business? theres so many options on Bellaire so they need to be on point... please do better My Baguettes! read more

Tried this place for the first time today. I asked if they had any vegetarian options and while it was not on the menu, they were able to prepare an egg sandwich for me. This was our first time to try this place. We had "ga rut xuong" and combination baguettes. Here were what I think: 1/ Prices: was higher. Starting around $4.xx and up per loaf compare to other competitors! 2/ Quality: "the tastes were so plain"... I had ordered 1 loaf of "ga rut xuong" and other was "combination". The vegies and meats (shred chicken, ham, pate) were just "barely filling up" the loaf of bread (I think they won't put much meat ... may be to make them stand out from competitors???) what disappointing me was the "taste was so plain". I think the girl who made our sandwiches forgot to put few dashes of "Maggi" soy sauce which can make pate, ham, or chicken more flavorful! 3/ Service: store were clean and staffs were friendly So comparing their "Banh Mi" to Banh Mi Nguyen Ngo or Lee's sandwiches just two blocks further down and across the street... Their "Banh Mi" tasted 10 times worse than Banh Mi Nguyen Ngo and 6 times worse than Lee's sandwich. I can tell this Banh Mi can't even match with Banh Mi at Le Givral Caffe II store locates at beltway 8 and Bellaire BLVD. So to rank this store on rank from 1 to 10 (1 is terrible and 10 is the highest score) here what I have: Convenience: 10 service: 8 store cleanliness: 9 Banh Mi: "1" If you ever tried Nguyen Ngo or Le Givral Caffe II, you will know why I gave "2". read more

I came here during grand opening and the wait time for my order was 20-30 mins. I did the buy 4 get 1 free deal and specifically told them to put the veggies on the side because it's a to-go order. I got my order and they didn't follow my instructions. I went back this past Saturday with my aunt because she was in town from Austin. Thought we'd try this new Banh Mi restaurant since we were in the area. Maybe because it was fairly new, but service was slow when we went. Once we got our sandwiches, I noticed that the meat was fattier than what were used to at our regular Banh Mi place. The kids also didn't like the taste of the baguette as much as our regular place. Since this isn't close by (about 40 min drive for us), probably will just stick with our usual Banh Mi restaurant in that area. read more

Wanted to try this place because we've seen many friends come here. It was a small place, about a family and another couple there when my boyfriend and I arrived. Service was slow, we were sat and it took awhile for us to get our menus and to even order. Our food came out and our drinks were forgotten. Someone walked in and asked for a table of 9 (during COVID), typically 6 at a table is the new norm but I told myself okay, what's another 3? These new customers were accommodated then I heard them change their mind to 13 and I was thinking surely, they won't accommodate that many... but they did. In this tiny place, long table of 13. My boyfriend sat back to back with someone in the party of 13, I wouldn't mind if there was more distance between tables but in this situation, definitely wasn't. As for food, they only give one egg with the steak and eggs, typically there's two, so just note to ask for another egg if you wanted more! love their bo ne so much this is one of our spot to come for it. Food was incredible, however, service is something they can still work on for a better experience. Bet no one wants to come in for breakfast and walk out pissed off even the food is outstanding. The lady that served us has some bad attitude toward us the moment we walked in. Five stars simply for their shredded chicken banh mi; it is perfection. The chicken is very finely shredded but still manages to stay moist and is full of flavor, the pate is the best I've tasted, bread has a thin crisp outer but super soft inside and their in-house mayo just pushes this over the edge. Jalapeños are sliced generously here, which I appreciate, but keep this in mind if you don't like so much spice. This place is clean, friendly and no frills. Easily my favorite Banh Mi in town. I've been back several times now. When they first opened the wait was on the long side but now it is normal for a Banh Mi shop making food fresh. Hands down the best Bo Ne! I have tried other places in Houston and had it in Saigon, no comparison. The butter mayonnaise make the meal , not to mention the deliciously tender meat and onions. I am never let down when I eat here. The vietnamese sandwiches are also delicious, make sure to get extra mayonnaise.The bread is on point and meat is very flavorful.
