    Barely meat $18 pizza
    Chris L.

Fun gay bar, but the "+ pizza" part of their name needs to be the removed. The $18 "meaty" pizza is as disappointing as a cat fish Grindr hook up. Barely any meat and worse than a frozen pizza you can get at a grocery store for $5. Gay bar yes. Dinner spot no. But honestly it's our bad for being optimistic. $4.50 well drinks what we should have ordered. That's pretty special. 4 stars

My Bar was a blast! We went every night we were on the island. Our first night there was a Wednesday night and the incredible Sabel Cities was hosting her show. I was so impressed that it started on time and my side hurt from how hard Sable had me laughing. Don't miss her show but be on time because it really does start at 9:00 pm unlike most drag shows. We really did go every night because we had so much. They have karaoke on Thursday night and Sunday night and who could forget the swimwear night on Saturday. My Bar was also the host of the Hawai'i Gay Kickball Classic we were playing in. They hosted an amazing opening night party for us and closing night party. I will disagree with other reviews on the pizza because we loved the pizza and chicken tenders! The bartenders and staff are AMAZING!

We came for the drag show. We are vacationing from the San Francisco Bay area, and we're not sure what to expect from this local drag scene. We were blown away! The queens SLAYED!! Gorgeous and hilarious! In addition, while the drinks may not be "cheap," they are worth every penny. Behind the bar, Kevin whipped up the most delicious coconut Mai Tai's!!

Super cute gay bar! Staff was very friendly and welcoming. Great vibe all together. Had a good mix of people.... was a little bit of a challenge to find. Outdoor seating, dance floor. Drinks and small snack, pizza. Very welcoming vibe. Gay or straight everyone was very friendly.

After Yelp searching "gay bars" in Kona, I was surprised that two businesses popped up. On Maui, we have Z E R O. So lame! After having one drink at Mask-Querade, which was a nice place to have a conversation but got a little boring after a while, we decided to check out My Bar, which was close by. ATMOSPHERE: My Bar is located in a small metal warehouse-looking building in an industrial park. Inside, it sports a good sized bar, high tops, dance floor, two pool tables, and a small outdoor lanai with a few seats. The DJ played a mix of mostly house/trance with a wee bit of dance. The dance floor lighting was pretty cool, and you were allowed to bring your drink on the dance floor, a big no-no in Beaumont, TX-like Maui (did you get the Footloose movie pun?) The Saturday night crowd was a mix of gay and straight, and everyone had a nice time. The bartenders were friendly and delivered quick service. And best of all, the bottled beer (Bud) was only $3!? Score!! OVERALL: Great for dancing not for conversing, cheap beer, not overly crowded.

You can find great Dancing with Air Con.... Gerry plays Latin with no cover at My Bar in Kailua Kona every Wednesday Nite. Real Cool Place.. lots of Night Club Lights, Big TV's and awesome Bartenders ! They also play ChaCha, Merengue, Zouk,…

Chicken we ordered had no grill marks like before and the chicken was placed on top as one piece. Very little lettuce, and the shell it came in was smaller. Really sad to see. I know everyone is cutting corners and making concessions to make a profit but this was not a meal sized portion. We've enjoyed fish and chips, sliders, tacos, burgers, salads prior to the changes. For old time sake I ordered a Mai Tai. I was surprised a lime wedge replaced the pineapple and cherry skewer I enjoyed. Staff is friendly and host was very nice. Music at 6 pm is fun. We love watching the sunset, musicians playing and sometimes a gracious hula dancer. It can be busy, long waits for dinner. I really hope Huggo's on the Rocks can retain its special charm.

Ravenous and throat parched, the pictures for The Temple drew us in. Restaurant was empty save a family of 6 sitting in the corner. To summarize the experience the food tasted as delicious as it looked. Service was spot on. Skip the barbecue chicken tacos they were overrated. Our server warned against it but we were feeling chicken. It was a mid dish. The star of the show was the Calabrese Flatbread. It was phenomenal. Really tasty, ample cheese, marinara sauce, with large chunks of sausage that were so flavorful. The potatoes we got were supposed to be island potatoes and tasted okay with lots of Chimmichuri Sauce. Ask for more on the side to dip the potatoes in. Kona beer on tap, Michelob in bottles, and some nice house drinks to round it off. Their dessert selection looked tasty, but so full that stomach was hurting after the meal. Will be back again if I'm in the area!

The menu isn't huge, but it offered several dishes that appealed to us. When our server came to take our order, we asked if we could order happy hour drinks since it was still happy hour. We were told that happy hour pricing is only available if you're seated at the bar. We had the option of staying at our table and paying regular price for drinks or moving to the bar to receive the happy hour pricing. We chose to move to the bar. While we gave up some of the privacy of the table, the view was just as beautiful. My wife and I shared the Caesar salad and the Spaghetti Bolognese with burrata, and both were excellent. The Caesar salad was fresh, crisp, and flavorful. The spaghetti was cooked perfectly, the sauce tasted fresh with quality tomatoes, and the burrata was a great addition. We also enjoyed happy hour mojitos, which were refreshing and very well made. In fact, we enjoyed the restaurant enough that we returned the following day. Since it wasn't happy hour and we weren't ordering drinks, we chose to sit at a table and had another great meal. Overall, Kai's Eats + Drinks offers great food, excellent cocktails, and beautiful bay views. The only surprise was that happy hour drink pricing is limited to bar seating, but once we knew that, it wasn't a big issue. We'd definitely recommend it and would happily dine here again.
