I'm staying at the Glenmark and popped into Olia for a salad and drinks. The bartender Rita is uh-mazing. She made amazing drinks just how we liked them. The salad was doused in dressing and not so great, but the hospitality was phenomenal. The bar area is quaint and the eating area is pretty as well. We had heard great things about Olía and decided to try it for ourselves. Easy and plenty of street parking when we arrived at about 11 am and it's away from the chaos of downtown Glendale. We were greeted by a few friendly employees and handed menus. We ordered a cheese burger and breakfast wrap. Both were great and arrived to our table in about 15 minutes. The breakfast wrap comes with cheddar cheese and I replaced it with goat cheese, it was fantastic! There is a coffee bar with Starbucks coffee and plenty of other coffees available. Seating is available inside or outside and there are heaters on the patio but they weren't on, so we opted for inside. It was loud inside at all and we could hear each other with no problem. As the main restaurant of the Glenmark hotel, Olia features a mixture of California and Armenian dishes. It is a fusion restaurant that does a solid job jumping from a khachapuri to an avocado toast, a feat that few spots would dare to put on one menu. The interior is brightly lit, with large open windows, high ceilings and elegant contemporary bistro furniture. Ordering occurs at the counter and the staff are incredibly kind. There is a homey sense to Olia somehow and despite being located in a hotel, it felt that a lot of the diners are regulars as opposed to hotel guests. Armenians coming to sit down for hours, to enjoy each other's company. The California khachapuri may be the highlight of the menu, served with avocado. As a whole, an excellent spot. Food is really well made and the service staff is excellent. Although I find the pricing a bit too high, I come for breakfast a couple Sundays each month. The ambiance is something I have a love/hate relationship with. While it's space is perfect in my opinion, their choice of music (and its volume) is enough to make me regret visiting at least twice per trip. There is just nothing "Sunday morning" about the soundtrack going on! Finally, the staff are the nicest most pleasant crew around. I always give a 1 star if a place is charging fees for staff or what not. Don't charge a 3% fee, that is the dumbest thing for any business to do. Just raise your prices and we don't care. This is a beautiful restaurant but everything else was mediocre, at best. Service was kind but was lacking in all aspects of hospitality. Our waiter seemed more confused about the menu items than we were. They noted having half and full sizes of the khatchapori, however, the waiter said that they only come in a "medium" size. She was not able to tell us how much it cost until we saw it later on our bill, which was identical to the full size. We had no utensils and water until after we received our meals. We also didn't get one of our side dishes until after we paid for the check, which we obviously took to go. The price of the meal was not consistent with the quality and value of service as well as the food. Although the food items tasted fresh and came out warm, they were rather lackluster. There wasn't even any salt, pepper, or hot sauce available to us. The one really good thing they have going. Here is their coffee. They serve intelligentsia, which in my opinion is one of the best in the market! Parking is also rather expensive for visitors. To park in their lot, it costs $15. I would opt for street parking if I were you as it is relatively free on most spaces on Brand Blvd. read more

I was very disappointed with the pricing. Charging such a high price for just one piece of bruschetta feels unreasonable and not good value at all. The portion was extremely small for what you pay. Sadly, I can't give 5 stars because despite the great food, they refuse to answer their phone, you can't order online because their form doesn't allow you to make selections, and when you call the hotel they refuse to help and disconnect you from the survey they asked if you'd be willing to complete because they clearly know it's not going to be positive feedback. We went to Base Camp instead - much better service and online ordering options and they answer their phone even though they are SO much busier and Olia is always empty, yet still can't/won't answer their phones! A coworker and I had a great lunch here. Food was excellent. I had the caprese salad which was a huge portion and one of the best I have eaten. Fresh and seasoned deliciously. This is a very pretty place for brunch. It gave me a high-end feelings. However, service was very slow. I was here for a business meeting and my guest got a bottle of sparkling water. There was no server providing her with a glass or helping her to remove the crown. I bugged the server twice to provide her with a glass as well as removing the crown before she was able to drink her water. I ordered a latte and an Italian salad. Both items were not impressive. The latte has lack of coffee flavor, and the salad was dry with minimum amount of salad dressing. Again, I waited for a long time until I can get extra salad dressing. We stayed multiple days at the Glenmark and have tried the Salmon Toast, Avocado Toast, Salmon Eggs Benedict, and an Glenmark Hamburger with Fried Egg and Bacon Strips at 9:30am. If you want an item on the lunch or dinner menu for breakfast, they'll make it for you! Portions were large and excellent. The Avocado Toast was bright green with freshness, the Salmon Toast had an avocado crema with capers, red onion and rolls of artistically arranged smoked salmon. The salmon eggs Benedict had very nice runny eggs and the burger was LARGE with a lot of crispy thin cut fries. A good high quality place for locals and hotel patrons feeling too lazy to explore and drive somewhere else. And I am often lazy! read more

Hard to say, beautiful place and food was good but Customer Service needs some work. we've been there three times and every time they've messed up our order and forgotten to bring something. the girls at the register, put it in properly but somewhere between the order going from the front to the back kitchen, there is a loss in translation. Manager was very nice the first time we were there. She apologized about everything and gave us a credit. Didn't see her the other two times. the younger staff is not necessarily very good at Customer Service. They are not full service for breakfast only full service after 5 PM for dinner. so I don't think they're used to being service oriented maybe? At the register I asked for sweet and low for the coffee and the tea and was told it would be brought to us to our table. But one of the other staff dropped off the drinks and I asked about the sweetener and she just told me to go across the room to go grab some. She said we are like a Starbucks you can go grab it. The manager was a bit mortified when I told her we were told that. She said ... that staff member should have gone and grab some for us. so as I said, I really like the manager, but some of the staff might need a little better training on Customer Service and Kitchen staff needs to read The order better for possible modifications especially as where allergies are concerned sometimes things need to be removed. read more
