Update: I had a very negative experience that was ultimately resolved in a positive way. My car needed routine maintenance and I got upsold unnecessary work, which was misrepresented to me as that routine maintenance. In response to my very negative review about that experience, the dealership escalated their response up the chain, at first trying to justify what I experienced, but ultimately offering a seemingly sincere apology, promising the dealership would make sure their staff did not behave in this way going forward, refunding the upsold work, and offering a free future service. So while my initial experience was very negative, I was happy with the final resolution, and the most senior person who engaged me in the end really listened and said all the right things in response to my concerns. In summary, while my initial experience was very negative, I was impressed by the dealership's ultimate response, and maybe most impressed by the time they took to really listen to my concerns and seemingly take them seriously. Let me explain something. DEALERS ARE THE WORST PLACE to take your vehicle for service but this Salinas Chevrolet dealer in particular is top of the list where NOT to go. I bought a used Chevrolet and wanted to get it checked out by certified technicians. I go into the service department and a female asked how can I help. I explained my situation and she recommended a service to me. I also told her about a known issue and she charged me an hour labor for that on its own. You are already doing an overall diagnostic of the vehicle, why charge an hours work more ($200). Total rip off. I had an appointment for the early morning and they didn't call me until 15 minutes before closing to pick it up. Obviously they do that on purpose to make it seem they worked on it all day. I was left all day without my vehicle. What are appointments for then? If you aren't going to work on my vehicle until you want to? The actual workers here have poor customer service skills. I went twice to ask a bald guy at the service for estimates on suggested repairs and he did not help me at all. Told me to return in 2 days so someone else can help me with that. I went 2 days later and got my estimates. Estimates which were ridiculous because for every small repair they charge one hour of work. That is FARUD. You don't charge for what you do not do. If a job takes you 5 minutes, then you charge for 5 minutes. I will report this place to the BBB as well. Can't imagine how many customers they scammed over the years. I also put them on blast because the checklist was incomplete. They left items completely blank which tells me they were not even looked at. But I was charged for it? When I asked the service worker, she gave me a blank face and said idk what happened. She then asked an older man probably the service manager and he said he would go talk with the technician to see what happened. He comes back and says the tech is busy. The service worker told me she would find out what happened and promised to call me back! One week later and haven't heard anything! I will Never return to this dealership and I hope they learn their lesson! We the customers pay their salaries and they cannot treat us like they want. I hope everyone with a bad experience lets it be known on here with a review! I will be calling my bank to initiate a chargeback for failing to provide the promised work and service. We live in San Jose, and had been looking for a White Certified 2019 Equinox. We tried to make a deal with DGDG in San Jose, but found them unwilling to be flexible in both my trade in nor the price of the vehicle. We found a vehicle on My Chevrolet's website and decided to make the long drive to check it out. IT WAS WORTH THE DRIVE. We arrived at the lot and was greeted by Manuel Chavez who ended up being our salesperson. He was an attentive, knowledgeable, and low pressure person. He found the car we had seen, took us for a test drive and after we expressed interest in the vehicle, arranged for an appraisal, for our trade in. Once their offer was made Jerimy the Sales Manager, I made a counter offer which was accepted without the old fashion back and forth. Once the deal was made, we were turned over to Adrian Lara, the Finance manager. Even though we were paying cash, we had the DMV paperwork to fill out as well as the other paperwork required. Took 2018 Chevrolet pickup in because check engine light came on. Was told fuel pump needed to be replaced. Told them to go ahead and replace it. Was told pump was not in stock and would need to order it. Told them to go ahead and order it. 9 days later fuel pump arrived. Told them to go ahead and install it. 2 days later I was told that they were short on man power and had not gotten around to installing. Maybe they should have told me at the beginning that they do not stock parts and do not have the people to install them. I had my truck serviced yesterday along with having my tires rotated. This afternoon I noticed that the wheel lock key was missing. I called them and they had the key. I asked if they would have someone bring it to me. They said that they would mail it to me. We're going camping tomorrow with our trailer and it would have been extremely bad if I got a flat during this trip and didn't have the key. The mechanic obviously didn't notice that he forgot to put the key back as it was after 1:30 pm when I called them. When I asked the service person what would happen if I got a flat and didn't have the key...you'd be screwed. Very poor customer service for me having to come in and pick up the key that the mechanic should have put back in my car. Chevy dealerships have the fame of hard to deal with. I talked with ~8 Chevy dealerships in NorCal and proved this. But, this dealership is not. 1. I appreciate their honesty and transparency. This is the only Chevy dealership that shows a discount directly on their website. The price negotiation was very straightforward. Other Chevy dealers had a lot of sales talks and lied about many, many things. 2. They did't urge me to use GM Finance, which many other dealers did. They respected the pre-approval from CU. 3. The lady tells me they won't be able to start on my car until 1pm at earliest after they get back from lunch and it will take a hour or so. Then don't offer 11:45 appointments, only offer 1pm. Bad service at My Chevrolet This is by far the worst service that I have ever received from any dealership! Originally took car in because car was hesitating between 10 and 20 miles an hour and also hesitating between 20 and 30 miles an hour. Anytime that it would take off from a stop or go from a slow down to a speed up the car would shake very hard and hesitate and then have to use a lot of power over 4000 RPMs to go from 20 to 30 miles an hour and 10 to 20 miles an hour. I explain to the people in the service department that this was very dangerous because I had a job where I drive people with physical and mental disabilities around and it is not just my life that is on the line it is also their lives that are on the line as well as the security of my job. Car was kept for 24 hours before I call to check on the status of the vehicle was told that there was nothing wrong with the vehicle and if I wanted to test drive the vehicle with the mechanics I could. I test drove the car with the mechanic named José and he felt the problem. Came back and the service manager CHAD ROYAL wanted to test drive the car with me. Service Manager CHAD ROYAL did feel the problem with the car but stated that this was normal for a CVT engine. I had mentioned that the car did this very minor when I first purchased it from the Honda dealership but it had increasingly got worse. He informed me that unless I was able to make the problem happen on purpose or a check engine light came on for the vehicle there was nothing that they could do. I recently took the car to San Francisco, if you have ever driven in San Francisco you know how steep the hills are. I then tried to drive my car there but when I tried to go up a hill and had the gas all the way down to the floorboard of the car would not rev up and it would not have any RPM and would not go it's simply stayed in one spot for almost 3 minutes before trying to go even with the gas pedal all the way down to the floor. At this point I had deemed the car no longer safe to drive and took it home. I contacted the dealership and asked if I could have the car picked up from my house and taken to the dealership for my 8:30am appointment on 9/5/2017. Now they have had my car for 6 days and they are not even sure what is wrong with my car and not once offered me a rental car for this issue. LOUSY SLOPPY! Work done in their service/repair shop. They damaged my vehicle in the process of repairing it without telling me. Then they locked my key in my car and damaged my door in the process of getting the door unlocked. LIARS! When I asked them why my car was not ready yet, they LIED to my face and said "oh we're just finishing up your car". What they were actually doing was spending (27) minutes trying to pry and warp open my door getting their pry bar rod in between the door and chassis in order to get my door open and get the key out. DISHONEST! They gave me a written estimate for (1) hour labor. They completed the job in (44) minutes and then screwed around working on another car for another (20) minutes and then had the blatant audacity to tell me they will be charging me for two hours labor. When I made REPEATED attempts to talk to the general manager, he intentionally refused to answer my calls, talk to me or reply to ANY of my (7) seven phone callls and (4) messages left there. The lady that answers the calls there assured me that all (4) four of my messages were received by the general manager there because she personally walked over and left them on his desk. NO honest quality business that truly cares about quality customer service and customer satsifaction would do that. The guy named Andrew Mulkey intentionally lied to us to make us drive 2 hours to get there for nothing. We worked with guy for a week and confirmed many times that the vehicle we want still available before driving 2 hours to get there. He called and called to say that it was still available. After spending 2 hours driving there, this liar told us that it was sold and wanted us to look at other cars. I own a 2016 Chevy Colorado diesel truck. I took it to them to do a recall that time the check engine light is ON. I told them to just do the recall and reset the check engine light because it might just be the recall that is causing the issue, so they did. I took it home but after 2 drive from salinas to gilroy the check engine light came ON again. Took it back to the dealership and they run diagnostic and said it was the NOX sensor that needs to be replace, so we did for $564. I took it home and again after the 2nd drive this time coming from seaside the check engine light came back again. Took it back to them they run diagnostic and they are saying there is another problem and to fix it, it will cost another $465. What kind of service are they running over there? I scheduled my suburban for an oil change and tire rotation online. Once I got there the service advisor by the name of Angelica told me they had no appointment on file. I then showed her my confirmation on my phone. It was scheduled for 9:20. I was there at 8:00. She then said they could fit me in. As if I was in the wrong. I then asked if they could check out or listen for a clunking sound coming from my right front. Suspension related. She replied with no. Since I didn't have an appointment. So she scheduled me for one two weeks out. I had her document it in the file stating I had concerns. I got picked up and went to work. Around noon she calls me and said. They had time to check the noise. I said great. 3:30 comes around and I had yet to hear from them. So I called. The gentleman I spoke to said my vehicle was done. I showed up and my bill was $300. I asked was my clunking resolved. Another service advisor that I did not get her name. Started telling me about what was done. She stated that some transmission boot was damaged and was replaced. She also said that my transmission was serviced. I asked if that fixed the problem. She said yes. So then I asked if my oil change and tire rotation was performed. She said no. I asked why not. She then realized that was not my cars paper work. So nothing was done to solve my clunking. The oils change and tire rotation were done. Now I have to return another day to resolve my problem.
