Came out here in Super Bowl Sunday for a change of scenery. Staff is super friendly and the everything is really clean. There wasn't a wait, probably because of the day. We were greeted when we walked in and the whole place felt very homey, like you were going to your great aunts house to eat. I loved this place. The service was good, but more importantly the bbq was really good. The two meat plate is plenty for even a big eater like me. The spicy BBQ sauce was really good and not too spicy. The pork ribs are a little sweet, which was a little weird to me, but were cooked perfectly to give that super tender meat while still having a little char outside. Perfectly cooked! Wa there yesterday for takeout order. I attempted to order Online, but site said "online orders unavailable". I went and placed my order in person and was told by the very pleasant young man that the wait would be 25-30 minutes, which seemed long, though reasonable, even though I didn't see a crowd waiting. After inquiring several times, along with several other customers, my order was ready, which took twice as long as I was promised. When I picked it up, I told the young man that he should give customers a more realistic wait time and he said he was telling us what the cook had told him to tell us. the Cook came to the window and I overheard her telling another customer that there were only two people working. I understand this, however, all the more reason to give more accurate wait times. I think the correct wait times weren't given was because people wouldn't agree to wait that long! The food is delicious, however, because of this and their inaccurate time estimate, I doubt that I will be returning. I believe honesty is always the policy. read more

One of the best bbq place's I've ever been to. Granted I've only been to like 4, but I'm always very skeptical about bbq places. There's one that I always go to in San Diego and nothing compares to that. My coworkers all raved about this place so I decided to try it out. My friend and I shared the brisket and rib tips and boy were they good... I prefer the brisket because I don't want to deal with the bones in the ribs haha, but still they were both good. I got the corn and mac and cheese for my sides and omg the mac and cheese is SO GOOD. I could tell there's a lot of heavy cream or butter or something oily, but it was so freaking good. The corn was also good too. Def recommend the mac and cheese. I ordered about 9 plates of food to go and they said it'd be ready in 10 minutes. I was really surprised but I'm sure they cook a lot of meat at a time. I came during lunch time and it was dead... I thought it would be a busy place, but I guess it's kind of a hole in the wall? Parking is plentiful as it's in the plaza but there's lots of parking available. Employees were really nice and the place was nice and clean. I came here at 11:25am on a weekday. I was the only person in line, one other customer was talking to the food staff at the back of the restaurant. I stood in front of the lady at the register while she continued to talk on the phone for 10 minutes without acknowledging me, taking down a large order. Eventually one of the two other staff came over to at least start working on my food while I waited to be rung up at the register. Once the register lady finally took my order, it took another 10 minutes for them to take meat out of a tub and put it on a slice of Texas Toast-style bread for me and put a little mac & cheese in a cup. While all this was happening, the other customer was talking to the two food prep ladies for the whole 20 minute process. Not to sound mean, but he may have been a little bit "special" as he was repeating himself over and over and repeatedly reached over the plastic wall to high-five the food prep ladies. One of them was wearing gloves, the other was not. While I watched, they high-fived the gentleman 3 different times without changing their gloves or washing their hands as they continued to handle my food. Horrifying. Finally got my contaminated food at 11:45am. Overall my impression was that this was a place staffed by family who are excited to "be their own bosses" but don't have the work ethic to succeed for very long. They pride themselves on the taste of their food but pay no attention to how to operate a restaurant, this place needs an experienced restaurant manager to clean things up and hire hard workers if they don't want to fail rapidly. Came here because Bludso's is not taking orders today because of the Super Bowl. Found it on yelp & decided to check it out since it was a couple miles away. Ordered 2 brisket plates. It comes with 2 sides-- I ordered the mac n cheese & beans. Bf ordered the corn on cob & beans. Total came out to around $27. The employees were very nice & welcoming. The wait for our food was about 30 min? I didn't mind because I figured id rather wait for fresh barbecue than reheated. The brisket was really good (but not better than Bludso's) & very filling. I was very satisfied after finished about half. I wish they gave more sauce however--I ordered it on the side, not sure if that makes a difference. The mac n cheese was really good & super cheesy. First, I placed an online order and when I showed up at the quoted time my food was not ready and I spent an additional 15 mins while they tried to figure out what happened.
