This is my 2nd time here! I craved dimsum my first time in Yakima last year...and found My Ma Dim Sum. I ordered some of my fave dishes of dimsum and they were kind enough to switch out Chinese broccoli for bok choy at my request. I REALLY wanted to like the food because it looked good, it smelled good, the lady at the counter was SO nice....but in reality, I went hungry that night at the hotel. I could not eat most of it I'm originally from Hong Kong, and lived in Seattle all my life, so it's safe to say I know good dimsum. I did not post a negative review like I normally would because the lady was so sweet and kind! I finally decided to give them another go since I'm in the area again and went for Pho instead. WOW! Pretty amazing! Almost as good as Seattle Pho! Super hot delicious broth, good amount of brisket (they also catered to me for just getting brisket instead of the mix with steak and tendon), LOTS of noodles, and just the right amount of hoisin sauce and Sriracha. Also ordered the Peking duck. Not traditional Peking duck, and a little expensive for 3 pieces, but it was fun and pretty tasty. So glad I decided to try them again. I did not know Ma Dim Sum existed until I was searching for Asian restaurants in Yakima. The reviews were good so I gave it a try. My two cousins and I had lunch here on Friday. We ordered barbecue pork, shrimp dumplings, pork dumplings. and vegetable pho. Everything was fresh and delicious. The wait staff were pleasant, friendly, and attentive to our questions about the dishes on the menu. Overall a great lunch experience. We will definitely be back for more! read more

This place is nice. The staff is friendly. So far this is the only place in Yakima to get Duck. What I like about this place is not only the duck is that you can get some of the Chinese Dim Sum appetizers. However they do not plan to offer table side. Which for me is a disappointment. read more

This place is great! It's family owned if I'm not mistaken. They're bbq pork buns are the best. My grandfather loved the soup they served and he is not a very adventurous eater. My younger brother loved their duck "carnita style" "tacos". I would prefer their pork belly to be a bit more fried but that's just personal preference. Friendly staff. Small establishment. Very clean. Parking is tight. Food was fresh, portions were generous. The pork dumplings were good, but no special dipping sauce came alongside. I missed that as I am about the dip and flavors. There were 5 or 6 sauces on the table. Made due with some soy sauce. Husband had chicken pho and said it was very tasty. I had beef chow fun. It was okay but very bland. After adding hoisin sauce from the sauce selection, it was more interesting. The menu picture made it look like it was prepared with a red or brown sauce, but my food was white. We will eat there again. read more

I never thought that I will find a good Dim Sum at a small town like Yakima. I was wrong. The Dim Sum served here is absolutely the best. Everything is super delicious and fresh. At first I walked in with my family, mostly just looking for any decent place to eat while escaping the heat and smog. We walked in and my dad joked with the staff a bit while the rest of us found one of the empty tables to sit at. The environment was relatively bare, but still welcoming. Light green walls and a stark, white kitchen that, although jarring, was oddly homely and reminiscent of the streets my parents were fond of in their hometowns in urban China and Taiwan. Suddenly, I heard the sounds that really sold me! From the back of the kitchen, just out of sight, an iPad blaring a cheap kids' YouTube video as children giggled! The pictures and reviews of My Ma Dim Sum led us to this establishment. The Beef Chow Fun, Char Siu Bao and Sticky Rice (steamed in a lotus leaf) tasted great! The bao's filling was exceptionally meaty, juicy and flavorful. If you like manapua (Hawaii's version of char siu bao), the filling ranks among the best in terms of flavor and mouth feel. While My Ma's bao isn't big and "bready" as a big-sized manapua, the meat filling makes it worth a try! read more

This place has the best pho in town, love the combination pho with the tendon in it with other meats. Great prices! Authentic dim sum, needed a place like this. Authentic Dim Sum in the Yakima valley? Yes please! Seriously so excited for My Ma. It has now officially become one of my favorite Asian spots in the valley. right up there with Jade Garden. But absolutely the best Chinese you'll find out here. Unfortunately this area is not too great for authentic Asian cuisine and you really have to search for the good stuff. Well search no more cuz I'm telling you this spot is it. You must try their soup and their humbao. The hospitality of the staff is so sweet, it is family own and run and they really put a lot of love into their food. Anyone can churn out a recipe but when they put their heart and soul into their dish- it's something that can't be imitated. They came to the table and asked how everything was. We flooded them with compliments and found out everything was homemade from scratch. What a delightful lunch we had! We shared the wonton soup, chicken feet, shumai and humbao. We were so full! We got take-out today. We had the pork dumplings, pork buns, pork fried rice, and Mongolian beef. All were excellent. The flavor of the pork was varied in all three dishes, all were unique and tasty. The dumplings look rustic and homemade, and the flavor does not disappoint. No Xiao Long Bao for take-out, it is too delicate. Cant wait for dine in seating again so we can give it a try! I've have dim sum all over the world. The flavor here was the worst flavor and least authentic for sure. Dumplings were rustic as one reviewer stated but more to the point they were not rolled properly resulting in way to thick a skin. Filling were dry and even the Shanghai style soup dumpling were incredibly dry. If you think the dumpling are good here then you've never had proper dumplings and your missing out. Even the restaurants in Mississippi has this place beat! You are better off buying no name brand dumplings at the grocery store and steaming them yourself. I tried them on he day they opened and was extremely disappointing, I have been anticipating their opening for weeks. I gave them a second try and order what the chef said was authentic 'roast duck with rice'. It was okay and a generous portion. I may try again and get a cooked dish and I might get the roast duck again but for dumplings if you like authentic I expect you will be disappointed read more
