We brought in our 1 year old puppy for a hair trim, this was our first time at this groomer (she usually keeps her hair 1 inch long when we get grooms), we specifically asked to keep her ears and tails long, AND we showed a photo of what we wanted from a previous cut. We are SO DISPLEASED. I was in such shock picking her up, I didn't make a fuss in the store. However when we called back to ask exactly what happened, we were told "We will call you back" and haven't heard a thing. The grooming appointment was on Sunday, we called back Monday, and today Friday we still haven't heard back to get an explanation of how this happened. How in the WORLD, when we specified EXACTLY what we wanted, could they get it so wrong?! And not only that, they kept her tail long when they shaved everything else? Including the ears? THIS REVIEW IS FOR THEIR DAYCARE SERVICE. DO NOT BRING YOUR BABIES HERE! Here's a breakdown of the customer service I received from MPG. I purchased their $900 package for 40 visits. Note that this is not the first daycare facility he's been to. My dog has been socially active with other dogs in daycares ever since he was done with all his shots at about 8 months. He is now almost 2. He's one gentle Shih Tzu who isn't aggressive AT ALL. He NEVER had any issues at any other daycare other than MPG. On his perhaps 7th visit, he was attacked by God knows what dog. Nobody in the daycare noticed the gashes the whole time and left him in the room with other dogs till the end of the day. I didn't get a call/text, surprisingly not even mentioning anything to me upon picking him up. THEY HAD NO IDEA!!! I noticed one wound right away, questioned one of the staff. She applied some ointment and called it a day. After getting home, I noticed yet, another gash just in the back of his neck while bathing him. I waited out, applied more ointment. The very next day, he refused to eat. I finally took him in the vet as I was getting concerned if it was getting infected. Paid about $200 to cover everything for this nonsense. MPG did absolutely nothing knowing my dog got injured on your property where your employees should be looking after my dog. Why am I paying you guys if my dog was going to get hurt? Oh, not once they offer to cover some of the vet cost. Talking about a great business right? After the whole ordeal, Cookie obviously couldn't make it back to the daycare till the gashes completely heals. Never once anyone called to check up on Cookie. Do they really care about your dog? Obviously not. Not to mention they only have one small room for all size dogs. I don't doubt the gashes were caused by bigger breeds. Regardless, I demanded a refund, other wise I would take them to court because this is NOT acceptable. By the way, I also wanted to save some grace for Nikki as she is the only staff who actually cared for Cookie. When I picked him up and noticed the wound, the manager Jennifer did not even come out to do any explaining. All she said to Nikki was, I didn't see anything and I'm here all day. Then you're obviously not paying attention, Jennifer. How do you miss gashes like this? Here's the kicker, they kept claiming they informed me about Cookie's injuries upon picking up. Get your story straight before trying to push the blame around, especially onto your paying customers! Duh! The injury happened in MPG, there's no excuse. I understand minor scratches happens from playing with other dogs but this type of gashes are definitely NOT from playing. Regardless, I got my refund as they made a "exception". That's after charging me full price at $35 per day versus what my package came with. Oh, best of all? 5% ($45) credit card processing fee. What kind of shit is this? Talking about some greedy ass offers where they'll gyp you in every way possible. I got $603 back in the end after 7 days of daycare. (charging rental collar fee of $7, complete bullshit) I never asked you guys to put a collar on him. He doesn't wear a collar for a reason. Wtf?!? Are you guys just money hungry? Lacking in business? After this experience, I totally see why. I just didn't want to deal with this anymore so I held my tongue and agreed to the amount. Extremely insincere, but nickel and dime me. Unbelievable. How upsetting is this? It's unfortunate how this incident went down. I know this elder lady name Martha who also comes to MPG. She told me the owner (Ruth) is very lovely and understanding. Now is she really understanding? Take a look at the treatment my dog and I received from this greedy business. Shame on you guys. If you want to avoid this type of treatments, avoid MPG. There are plenty of daycares in the area where your fur babies will be safely cared for. Think twice before pulling the trigger here because it's your baby's life in danger. read more

***warning, long post****Late post***** I made an appointment for my 10 month old teacup yorkie for a full groom. The appointment was scheduled for 3pm on 7/17/21. I arrived early, the staffed was nice, and the store looked cleaned/organized. Everything was going well. I advised the staff what I wanted for Ripley's hair cut. Nothing too fancy and all I really asked was for them NOT to cut off the top of her hair because I was growing it out. By 3:10pm she was in there hands and I left to get something to eat. 4:30pm came and the groomers called me to let me know that they would have to go shorted on the cut than what I had originally asked for due to matting underneath her arm and legs. Which was understandable and I didn't mind. It was 5:30pm and I still hadn't heard from anyone. I went back to the store and waited outside for a bit. 6pm came and I unfortunately had to go in and check on Ripley, I was already late for work, and Ripley wasn't even done yet. When they finally brought her out, you can tell she wasn't finished. Her frame around her mouth/face wasn't done and it was uneven. But what hurt me the most was that they ended up cutting the top of her hair. That was so devastating to me. I was maintaining and growing out the top of her hair since she was puppy. But there was nothing I can do about it at that point and the staff didn't really seem to care about my disappointed. I'm not one to be picky, but that was honestly the one think I was very specific about. That evening after the groomers, Ripley ended up throwing up. I didn't think much about it and figured maybe she had a long and stressful day. The next day no vomite, but I did notice her bitting on her sides. Still, I didn't think much about it. By Thursday night, she threw up again. Very yellow foamy stuff. She was still eating, drinking, and acting like herself. She then puked again the following night on Friday. I couldn't figure out what was going on with her and I was observing her very closely. Saturday she was fine, then on Sunday she threw up again. At that point I notice she was still bitting on her self and she would throw up that same day soon after. I decided to take her a bath thinking maybe whatever products was used on her at the groomers was not sitting well with her. Perhaps she was allergic. After I showered her she was fine! All good like nothing ever happened. No more puking or itching! I was so relieved. Sorry, long story, but I believe my overall rating had to do with poor time management, unfinished work, unable to follow the one instruction I had for them, and possibly causing harm to my girl. I will admit that I did not report this to the groomers mainly because I really didn't have any solid proof. But I know Ripley, and she's never had any reason to get sick like how she did. I don't have anything against My Pet Garden, I'm sure this is a great place for other dogs, is just not for my dog. I can't risk her getting sick again, therefore I would be looking for a different grooming location. read more

This is a great local business. They are always willing to give advice, they often have pets to rescue and great food and toy options. I have not done doggie daycare but when you do a whole day it's only $35 and you can get your dog groomed for $15 when you do a day of daycare. Great staff, great products. read more

Don't injure the pet (bleeding) and leave it traumatized - a dog is a family member! 2. I understand accidents may happen during the grooming process but at least apologize and admit your mistake. 3. Ok...after 3 months the fur grew back! So I am updating my review. Hopefully there wont be a miscommunication again. Great find on yelp! So my dog got sprayed with a skunk and after washing him 3 times on my own I could not get the disgusting odor out! In desperation I called local pet groomers the very next morning and behold! My pet garden was open and open early! They accepted my stinky pup in at 8am without a qualm and gave me discounts of 25% off for my first time visit. They groomed him exactly as I wanted with a very good nail grind so his nails don't scratch anymore and trimmed the hair just every so slightly to make it more manageable by keep his nice Aussie shepherd fur :). And got most of the skunk smell out in a few hours. I would not hesitate to take my dog back to these groomers/ pet day care. Most of all when I picked up my dog he actually seemed happy so I think these guys must be doing something right. Thanks again for helping me and my stinky dog in such short notice!! Normally always a great experience and we have been here more than a few times, however definitely fell short today and last visit. If you're open, why don't you answer the phone? If the pet is ready, why do you not call when they're done? You're taking a huge part of peoples family under your guardianship while they are with you, and I feel like answering the phone is a huge deal. I've counted at least 4 people working last time and this time when we've come (and I'm sure there are more in the back of the house) so I just don't understand why the phone isn't being used lately (again, usually not an issue but the last two visits have now had the same experiences). Maybe it was a fluke and everyone was using the restroom the 8 different times I called ? Still doesn't answer the question as to why no one called when my pup was ready though... Our little guy gets anxiety and will chew on his paws or lick them pink when he's away for too long (20lb pup, appt for a bath only at 3pm and I just showed up at 5:15pm because no one answered my calls for an hour at this point and the lady quoted us only 1 hour for the appt to take, so I don't feel my concern was all that absurd - I mentioned how I had been calling for an hour when I arrived and she pretty much just told me there's no way they would quote one hour --even though she was the one who quoted it!-- but he was ready. So again, why no call? Just a lame half-effort apology for the "confusion" not their mistake.) Anyway, I love my dog and I'm not a crazy pup mom, but today I felt like I was and as there are tons of us out there I feel this experience is a valid one to know about too. Maybe it's just this new person working, but it's been enough to make me look elsewhere to see if another spot in the area is worth checking out. It was my dogs' first ever daycare. I brought my 2 rescue pups that were 6 months old. They were both socialized, potty trained and they were ready for doggy daycare. I brought them in the day before to fill out paperwork and submit vaccination info. I spoke with Ruth, who was very kind, and I felt reassured that I had made the right decision to bring my dogs here. After I had dropped my dogs off, I intermittently watched the live view webcam at work. It was a very busy day so I was only able to watch for a few seconds every couple hours. To my horror, I saw the same dog (about 3 times the size of my dog) trailing and humping my dog every time. This happened over and over and over and over again. All in front of the person who was supposed to be supervising the dogs. I have screenshots and timestamps of everytime I had seen it on the screen. I didn't have time at work to call immediately. It was about 5pm when I finally called and let them know what was happening..right in front of them!! I had been so disappointed and upset all day. The lady on the phone told me that they had more male dogs that day and thats probably why it was happening... so, does that make it ok? I could understand the situation if it happened maybe a couple of times and someone attempted to address it when it was happening. But it happened at least 8 times. Who knows what was happening all of the other times I wasn't watching!! At this point, I realized there was no point of even asking why the person supervising the dogs did not address the repeated humping situation because they would've provided some lame excuse. Also, don't be fooled by how "spacious" the room is because it becomes overcrowded very quickly. 2 stars instead of 1 bc she was apologetic. read more

Just took my baby here to get a bath for the first time! I called in the day before to make an appointment and they were able to fit us in the next day. The bath package includes an ear cleaning, nail trimming, and anal gland expression. They gave me 20% off since it was my first time here and gave me a small sample package. I was able to pick him up in less than an hour (because they weren't busy.) I purchased one of the treats on the counter and the woman helping me found a bigger piece for me! Very sweet of her! If I could put negative stars, I would. I took my dog in for a routine grooming and asked them to shave him. A few hours later, my husband and I went to pick up our dog. As a rule, I always check my dog for cuts/scratches after a grooming because I know some places can be careless/rough. We were told to pay before they brought our dog out, so we did. Then when they brought him out, my husband decided to look for any signs of cuts. He noticed one of Rocky's ears looked "wet," so when he was about to look closer, the cashier lady said there was a "small accident." Well this small accident resulted in cutting my dog's ear pretty deeply. What in the world? Would she not have said anything if we just walked out and left with our dog? I am so appalled by this place. I'm almost certain my dog is going to need to go to the vet for this. It has now been 7 hours and his ear is getting redder and swollen. To top it off, his haircut is awful. Bald spots everywhere! It was only after my husband expressed how upsetting this was that they offered a refund. Seriously? You call me to tell me that my dog is ready to be picked up, but don't mention that this happened. We get there to pick up and PAY, and you don't mention anything. Only after we notice the injury, you finally confess? I will never come back here. If this leads to costly vet bills, the owner will be hearing from me. This place IS all that it is cracked up to be!!!! They had great customer service and very good knowledge of particular behavior of different breeds while they are groomed. I brought my two basset hound mix dogs for a simple wash. They had nail clippings, anal gland expression, Furminating, and drying in a special machine. The grooming session went through without any problems and they called me as soon as my pets were done. I was able to have breakfast at Plate 38 and then do local errands. I have to say one of the things that really impressed me aside from the great grooming, friendly customer service, ease and scheduling, was the really sweet thank you note that we received. The groomer here is fantastic! My maltese loves coming here and her face says it all! When I came to pick her up, she was smiling and didn't show any signs of stress or worry. My little dog, Abbey Rose, has been going to My Pet Garden since she was about 1 year old for grooming, daycare and boarding, and she will be turning 7 in August. The staff has become part of her family. Recently however, we had an unplanned situation and it made me realize how truly grateful I am for everyone at My Pet Garden. While on vacation in Europe I developed Covid and could not return home until I received a negative test result. What should have been a 12 day boarding stay turned into a 20 day stay for my little girl. Fortunately, when I called to explain my delay in returning home, the staff went out of their way to keep me calm and took care of my little girl. My daily webcam "visits" is what helped to keep my sanity. I could see she was ok and I'm pretty sure she was receiving a little extra attention. They even sent me a special photo for Mother's Day! There are no words to express my gratitude to everyone at My Pet Garden and how they helped us through this situation. The place looks clean and well kept, although you can't see back into the grooming area. I got the regular grooming service + dental cleaning. Because it was my first time there I got a 25% discount, so it came out to $56. Pretty standard. Max (my pup) was pretty matted when I brought him in. His hair was super long and we're pretty active, so i wasn't surprised when they called and said they would have to go super short. Combing out a lot of matts on a pup can be super painful for them. But that's ok! I appreciate their attempt. Anyway -- Max came out very handsome!! And very happy. We got a goodie bag, which was awesome. Treats and dog food we'd never tried before that Max loved. Probably the best dog groomers out there. When we went to get our dog groomed, he smelled and his teeth were dirty. It took about 5 hrs for them to completely finish. I could tell they were super-friendly. They were professional! Shop was clean and had pets! The shelves were stocked with pet necessities! When they are done grooming they will send you a picture of your dog! That's cute and good customer service! They also give you a bandana to put on your pet! We got the blueberry facial and the tooth-brushing. Obviously they did the blueberry facial with pride and pleasure. He sure did smell delicious, I could've bit him! Lol! The tooth-brushing wasn't so good. They couldn't because my dog wouldn't let them. But they didn't force him. Talk about gentle people! If you need a pet groomed definitely come here. Not to knock down Petsmart because I do love going their for day camp and training and knicknacks, but after taking Padme there to get groomed three times, I was starting to loose faith in groomers all together. I was wondering why Padme's haircuts weren't coming out as cute as all other puppies. I've shopped at My Pet Garden in the past and loved the experience, but I could never fit Paddy into a grooming appointment last minute. You really need to call in advance and make an appointment. And her cute little poof around her nose was still there :) She looked adorable and not like a giant eyed monster like after the Petsmart groomer chops off her eyebrow, eye lashes, nose poof, under eye hair.
