I've been a customer at MPG for almost 6 years now and my dog Fiona absolutely LOVES this place (as do I!). In the "before times" (aka pre-Covid) I traveled quite a bit and boarded Fiona almost monthly for 8-9 days at a time and now take her once a week for daycare. I love being able to check-in on the webcam and know that my baby is being well cared-for. And I'm not joking when I say Fiona LOVES this place - we only live 3 blocks from the store and she will walk there almost daily (and sometimes twice a day) just to cruise around the store and say "HI" to the wonderful staff...and test out the treats lovingly given by Ruth and the other staff. As far as products, you could not find a better place for honest, knowledgeable advice. My dog has a lot of food allergies and Christina is my go-to for nutrition and has recommended food and supplements that have improved my dog's skin and decreased instances of chronic UTIs. The products they sell are fresh and many are small-batch and made in the USA. Finally, the bath and grooming services are top-notch. My dog has some unique personality traits and all of the staff take really good care of her and she is never traumatized by the experience. They use really great products too. read more

Just moved to LA so I'm finding my spots and bearings all over again. I have a retired racing greyhound, who is the center and me and my husbands world. We won't go to places like Petco for grooming because we are very picky as our dog is so important to us. Seeing the reviews here, my husband brought Willie Nelson in to get his nails cut. I called to make an appointment and was told that I didn't need one, and nails take 5-10 minutes at the most. When my husband arrived him and my dog were quickly greeted. My dog LOVES people and hes a huge shmoozer. The woman in the front quickly came over and gave my dog the love and attention he was looking for and it made his day. They were so friendly and you could tell that they love animals. They said 5-10 minutes, but after taking him in the back he was out within 3 minutes. $15 for amazingly quick, friendly and precise service. His nails were cut perfectly and his tail was in a constant wag the whole time. We got a little bag of treats to go home with and a coupon for grooming. We found an awesome place and I highly recommend My Pet Garden. They care about what they are doing and I trust them with my dog fully! read more

I bring my dog Cody (20 lb German Spitz) here for baths and cleanings, and I love it. Yes, I would have to say that compared to some other places I've brought him, the price is a little higher ($35 plus tip), but I think it's worth it to get familiar and personable service. Since my dog has long hair and an undercoat, it's kind of a pain to bathe him well myself, so I like to have the professionals do it. I bring him every few months. The last time I brought him, they had a little grooming report card that showed how he did while he was there, and then a few days later, they mailed me a handwritten card with his picture (see my posted pics). The people that work there are always really nice, and when I pick up my dog, they always make the extra effort to let me know how things went. I bought a big bag of dog food there before, and if it was more expensive, it was by only a few dollars compared to Centinela Feed as I recall. They also feature adoptions from other rescues and shelters. Most times I went they had a couple small dogs in a caged area. I like that they are partnering with other places to help adopt out the dogs as opposed to getting them from puppy mills or breeding themselves. I think this store is a great combination of good marketing, customer service and responsible conduct. I think it's worth it to pay a little more to support a business like that. read more

Upon moving back to Pasadena, my little maltese-poodle got sprayed by a skunk. The poor little thing was in a lot of pain not to mention our house was filled with skunk odor. Immediately after the skunk incident, I washed the sprayed area with the formula vet recommended specifically for skunk spray. I got most of the spray out but my little one still smelled badly. The next day, I called My Pet Garden and told them about what happened. They were bright and cheerful and comforting, I was happy that they had skunk odor removing experience before. I took my dog in and had them cut his hair short and they offered a facial to help clear the odor out. Two hours later, i welcomed my little dog back into our bed because he smelled great and looked cuter than ever! It was a very good experience. I chose this place because other reviews mention Siberian huskies, and I wanted to pick a place that had experience with the breed. I've heard all kinds of horror stories about dog grooming on all kinds of dogs, and my husky is very anti-water and bathing of any kind. I was extremely happy with the service here, and my dog came out looking gorgeous and was not at all traumatized by the experience. I was already planning to come back here for his next grooming, but the icing on the cake was that they mailed out a hand written note thanking us for our business along with a cut-out photo they took of our dog after his grooming. It's so rare to get that kind of personal touch from a business these days, I found it really refreshing, and even though they would've gotten my business anyway, it definitely didn't hurt to go the extra mile. read more

I was just checking this place out but it was interesting that there is a doggy day care. They have a room where all the dogs hang out and play and handler incase anything goes wrong. Late review... I brought my pup Biscuit in for a bath, very happy & pleased with the results! Very friendly service & they even gave Biscuit a little "birthday package" filled with samples of dry & wet food plus a small bag of treats! So sweet! Biscuit went in happy, came out happy and clean! They said it would be 2-3 hours but it only took a little less than 2 hours :) No problems at all.. I am definitely a MPG regular and I've been exceptionally pleased with the work that Andrew does on my little Westie. I give the absolute worst instructions ever, but Andrew usually gets it right. I do have a tendency to send him back to take a little more off the face but that's more me than him since I can't explain what I want. I have not taken my dogs here for grooming so I cannot review that. But what I CAN review is the costumer service I have received when I took 3 of my ADORABLE ADOPTABLE cats to showcase them in their "Catery" last week. I do cat and dog rescue ( Silent Roar Pet Rescue) and it has been so hard to get a space at Petco or Petsmart for adoption. Here the staff is always kind, answering questions when I call to check on the cats, the litter box is clean and I feel confident that my cats get ample amount of food and water and some petting as well. The doggie daycare area looks clean and the doggies always look happy. They seem to only take smaller and medium size doggies which I have 4 of, and now I know where to take them next time I am out of town. Good selection of food and leashes, crates and toys as well! read more

Instead of taking responsibility for improper grooming, he suggests that I pay more for an additional service. If he read my review, he should understand that my dog shouldn't have VISIBLE fur clinging onto her after a groom. My usual place on Las Tunas is ~$10 cheaper (Even with the first time discount) and they will blow out and brush out as much fur as they can with my dogs so that I wouldn't have additional work to do after I pay for the grooming services. They were just booked for the next 2 wks and I couldn't wait. I'm just giving 5 stars bc I don't care to get my point across anymore. read more

Einstein, my 5 year old French Bulldog, has been part of My Pet Gardens day care, boarding and grooming since he was a pup. He loves daycare and playing with other pups. The staff is nice and friendly. Ruth, Jennifer & Christina are always helpful and are understanding of Einsteins needs during boarding. They take really good care of him. Every time we drive by the store front Einstein starts barking and whining with excitement. We also have a 1 year old French Bulldog, Diesel, who just started attending the day care and comes home tired from playing. I feel comfortable in knowing my dogs will be in good hands. read more

This was a great place to take my dog for grooming and to purchase all other necessities except my past experience. Let me just preface that the owner and most of the staff are amazing. They seem to enjoy all the pets that come in and are knowledgeable about the products, but honestly, it only takes 1 experience to ruin someones thoughts on a retail establishment. I entered the store to pick up my dog for grooming and was surrounded by a huge group of people waiting to be attended to. Christina burst out of nowhere and was SO rude. It was honestly a shock at the treatment she gave me; her lack of customer service was disgusting. Mind you that we were all were patient and didn't ever say a thing about waiting. To top it off, I brought my dog home and found that my dog's whole belly was completely red with red bumps, so I'm curious if they used a different shampoo which definitely irritated the skin. read more

Took in Breeze and Sky for a full bath and de-shedding and even paid extra for the service. The first thing the groomer says to me when I picked up Breeze was "just be aware he has a lot of loose hair on him but those will fall off within a day." 1 week later, he was still shedding. 2 weeks later he was still shedding. My house was literally covered in fur and the hair wouldn't stop coming off of him in chunks. I finally realized they charged me but didn't even do the service. As far as I am concerned, they didn't even bath him....literally wiped him off with towelettes to give him the look of a wash. I decided to brush him outside to see why was he dropping so much hair when I paid for de-shedding. This was the result......see image. DO NOT TRUST THEIR SERVICE. Usually, the owner has to filled paperwork before u take in a dog. Aka to know any symptoms or information about the dog for example. Another thing which is unclear to me.. is to why you are mentioning the slip lead leash.. you guys said we can keep it so that's no reason to withhold him. Such a cute place - great hours, it's hard to find a place that offers Sunday afternoon grooming appointments. Staff are super friendly and sincere! You don't get better customer service than here. When her owner passed, I became an owner of a Shiz Zu, Fiona, who had come here for years. The last time I picked her up, her hair ribbons weren't "her" color-purple. When I asked about it, the owner(?) took her back. She returned with spectacular bows.
